Been away and only just caught up. My sympathies are actually with Ed. I think he is portrayed as quite an ethical person, and became involved with the crooks against his better judgment because Emma was pressurising him, for basically what they couldn't afford. No doubt the SWs will bring the crooks back into play at a crucial moment
. He also felt honest enough to tell the mortgage company. Brilliant acting. I think Emma does understandably want a decent home for her family, and the programme is doing a good job of highlighting the problem for many young couples in their situation. However she lost my sympathy going round begging for cash. I don't think that really is what her character would have done, but it adds interest to the story. I think Ed showed guts at last leaving her, but no doubt they'll have a happy ending eventually.
