I'm starting this new thread as apparently our other one was over a year old!! shock

We'll have to do more gossiping to prevent this happening again.

Here's a link to the old one.

Can someone fill me in as to why Shula now has a horse portrait? Did Leonard buy one and pass it off as his own work?I

I'm not a great Alice fan either, Sara65 too whiney (pun intended!)

Sara65 Wed 24-Apr-19 15:41:46

I really dislike Alice, I think Chris deserves better

AyjayF Wed 24-Apr-19 14:20:03

What's happened to Rev Alan. No word from him for months on end. Now he's throwing all his spiritual weight behind Shula. Ease up Alan you're in the Church of England.
Just leave the woman alone. She'll sort out her crisis of faith all by herself. ?

Christopher has raised his profile this week. I am still waiting for Alice's drink problem to be recognised.

Some back story re Yakob and Tandy (whoever she is) methinks!

Yes, the Tom/Natasha (btw, love the "Nocasha" label!) scenario doesn't bode well!

AyjayF Thu 18-Apr-19 12:59:38

Natasha is pretty volatile but Tom is a bit of a drip

shysal Thu 18-Apr-19 09:26:38

What a plonker Tom is! Well, they say 'marry in haste repent at leisure'.

phoenix Wed 17-Apr-19 21:05:15

Hmm, not so sure that "poorTom" is quite the term I would use!

Sara65 Wed 17-Apr-19 21:03:29

I agree,! No honeymoon period for poor Tom!

MawBroonsback Wed 17-Apr-19 19:56:58

It is very early for Nocasha to be showing her true colours is it not?

SisterAct Wed 17-Apr-19 19:17:59

Can’t bear to listen to Natasha and now her ex is in contact about the juicer receipt Noooooo poor Tom

eGJ Mon 15-Apr-19 21:19:07

Now there’s a thought! Jakob and the erstwhile Jacob sheep keeper!?

LullyDully Mon 15-Apr-19 20:06:20

Jennifer seems also to have forgotten how to farm, being only a cook and wife. She did keep Jacob sheep at one time quite successfully.

phoenix Mon 15-Apr-19 19:33:34

Horrid, horrid, horrid!

(Can't remember which member of Senior Royal Household staff said of Sarah Ferguson, "vulgar, vulgar, vulgar", but thought I would bring the triple into play!)

Sara65 Mon 15-Apr-19 19:17:28

Nasty Natasha!

eGJ Mon 15-Apr-19 19:15:39

Is it me? Jakob, Christopher, cricketers! But Nocasa being so appalling made up for it?

Nannarose Sat 13-Apr-19 17:18:16

Yes, there is a great deal of selective memory in TA. I think it worse in recent years, as they contract certain actors for periods of time - and we have a story line featuring some people who then drop off for months (or even years) at a time. They then 'shoe horn' a character in to a storyline.
I like to say that I have listened since the Archers began - my mum was pregnant with me - so it's true I don't remember the early years (I do remember the fire) and I listened patchily as a teenager (!).
I am always astonished that there are no nurses - occasionally one calls round 'off mic' but the only one who had any say was Amy Franks - and actually as soon as she qualified as a midwife she seemed to stop visiting her dad in Ambridge.
There has also been only one teacher I remember as a character - Kathy Perks who in order to stay in Ambridge had to get a job at the Health Club.

I thought Grange Farm belonged to Oliver - will he sell it now? Aldridges want to buy.

Sara65 Sat 13-Apr-19 16:38:18

I’ll bet he is! Hope the upwardly mobile Tom and Natasha get their comeuppance!

merlotgran Sat 13-Apr-19 16:26:02

You could say Jazzer's more than a bit p***ed off, Sara65 grin

Sara65 Sat 13-Apr-19 16:22:00

Missed it last night, anything I should know?

FountainPen Fri 12-Apr-19 09:33:48

phoenix I'm never quite sure what livestock farming actually goes on now at Grange Farm. Where does Ed keep his Texels? The Grundys did have some pig arcs at some point and Joe's horses need grazing. It hasn't been explained what will happen to the land when the older Grundys move to The Green and Ed and Emma move to their new house, if indeed they do now that both have lost work. Would Jenny want to live at Grange Farm if the Grundys still have use of the land?

glammagram Not a lead. merlot started the thread. I just jabber a lot about TA. I've been listening since I was a child. Late DH was an Archers Addict. I, too, remember having to record the programmes for him on audio tapes. He refused to listen to the Sunday omnibus as the producers uses to edit out content to fit it into an hour. Nowadays the omnibus is long enough to repeat everything that's been in the Sun-Fri episodes and, of course, we have catch up.

lully One of the things that doesn't happen much in TA is reminiscing. It's rare for Pat to mention her Welsh background. I think she's forgotten her uncle Haydn Evans who had Willow Farm and ran the local garage. She's been in Ambridge since 1974 so maybe the writers have too. Hadyn had a son Gwyn but she never mentions a cousin.

Iam64 Fri 12-Apr-19 09:02:56

To be honest, if I was Nocash's mother in law I'm nor sure I'd feel comradeship, even in she'd been born in the same northern town I was. Usually clans stick together don't they but there are exceptions and for me No Casher is one of them.

merlotgran Fri 12-Apr-19 09:00:02

My money's on the Aldridges snapping it up as well.

I think Ed will get caught shifting dodgy stuff for Tim and his fine will wipe out their savings. sad

phoenix Fri 12-Apr-19 08:56:17

Surely the Aldridges will be the most likely occupants of Grange Farm?

Jennifer darling will be round at Brookfield asking for her tagine back!
