Jeremy Kyle: MP calls for ITV show to be axed for good https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-48265740
disclaimer <I have never watched the Jeremy Kyle show>

Following the suicide of a participant, there have been calls for the show to be axed on the grounds that it exploits vulnerable people.

But don’t a lot of programmes do that?

What about the harrowing interviews of people whose lives have been ripped apart by tragedy, crime or natural disaster?

If the Jeremy Kyle show is axed, shouldn’t the broadcast media take a long hard look at themselves in the way they report other things?

I wish they would put some craft programmes on in its place. Instead of more antique stuff!

The only programme I enjoy where we see people crying is "Long Lost Family". Because they are crying with joy at meeting up with family members that they have longed to be reunited with and I definitely get emotional as well. Such an amazing programme - I hope it comes back soon!
