Was looking forward to this. Don’t know if it was just me, but found it confusing. Spent most of the episode working out who was who, who was with who, and what was going on really. The awful fire, all the smoke and flames, I couldn’t tell who was trapped and who was doing the rescuing. Twist at the end of course.

Episode 3 last night. My cynical heart felt a pang of pity for Doctor Tom when Mum didn’t visit, even though I don’t like him. He was horrible to his wife though, but is he the killer?Who did Mum give that money to? I don’t like Policeman Steve either. And who was his counsellor, the bearded one? Surely not the headmaster moonlighting?
Still rather confusing.

Hm, it is a strange drama I agree, so many flashbacks. I think Tom's mum gave the money to Tom's mother in law. But why? Guilt I suppose. This episode showed Tom to be a really cruel bully, it is very hard to feel sorry for him. Hope he gets his comeuppance. Still don't know who the killer is!

I'm pretty sure that when Tom's mum visited him in prison he asked her to withdraw money from an account he'd set up for her and also to ask his inlaws for a loan. He said he needed the money for a better lawyer than the one he'd just sacked. His mum referred to the fact that he'd already had money from his inlaws and seemed reluctant to ask them. Next thing we know, she's withdrawing the money and giving it to the inlaws. Tom will be incandescent when he finds out! He's not used to being thwarted.

I didn’t notice any darkness in this drama
I ALWAYS use the sub titles for all dramas
I don’t know who the heck did it
Think Tennent's a great actor but fanciable..... nah not in a million years
Steve s not looking so good now is he

I am on track now with who is who and what is going on. I had a spare afternoon and rewatched episode 1/2!

Still no idea who the killer is . It is either Dr Tom and the whys and whats will be revealed or someone totally different. However he is a controlling rat.

Interesting that his mum took money for Kate's parents. Also that he was obviously expecting his mother to visit otherwise why would they take him to the dayroom?

I think the major problem with them all is the amount of alcohol swishing around the village. They all drink huge amounts of wine from huge glasses.smile

Dr Tom comes across as a really controlling dangerous character
Next episode is the final one?
Who dunnit???

tanith Sat 25-Jan-20 12:04:20

Anyone tell me how Kate managed to inject Tom with insulin? Or have I got that all wrong?

trisher Sat 25-Jan-20 12:48:27

I'm a bit worried about his mum when he finds out about the money. If I was her I'd be asking him to move out or going away on holiday.

mumofmadboys Sat 25-Jan-20 15:23:24

Expect there will be a real twist before the end!

mumofmadboys Sat 25-Jan-20 15:24:32

I don't think it can be Tom - too obvious. Could it be Steve??

soop Sat 25-Jan-20 15:46:03

The plot thickens or thins depending on how bright one is. I am not very bright right now. Must try harder.

suziewoozie Sat 25-Jan-20 15:52:21

Tom’s mother?

Calendargirl Sat 25-Jan-20 15:55:00

Mmm, could be Tom’s mother. Or what about the headmaster? (Kate seemed to fancy him).

Greenfinch Sat 25-Jan-20 16:22:27

Or Dylan?

seacliff Sat 25-Jan-20 16:50:50

I am totally at a loss on who did it. Tom is a really horrible cruel man, that is for sure. His own mother doesn't like him, and it seems he has borrowed off family and not repaid. Why is he so hard up, being a GP. Was he being blackmailed. Maybe someone else has a motive for setting him up. But it seems too obvious to be him.

The children being padlocked in the room? Could that be to protect them from someone getting to them. Clutching at straws. I just hope it is a satisfactory ending after all the speculation.

trisher Sat 25-Jan-20 19:00:42

I've got an awful feeling there will be a series 2.

suziewoozie Sat 25-Jan-20 19:02:57

Oh no not the dreaded series 2. ? Pleases not

grannyticktock Sat 25-Jan-20 19:15:07

Steve is coming into the frame now, seeming increasing stressed and unstable. If he didn't do it himself ( jealousy? Seems a bit extreme!) he certainly knows more than he's letting on.

Barmeyoldbat Sat 25-Jan-20 19:21:17

Just got to get a grip, I keep thinking yes I have got it then it is all turned upside down and its not what I thought. Oh well.

BlueBelle Sat 25-Jan-20 19:25:06

With so many flash backs can someone tell me did Jess confess her affair to Steve before the fire or after ?

suziewoozie Sat 25-Jan-20 19:33:11

I’m pretty sure after BB

BlueBelle Sat 25-Jan-20 19:56:48

Well I thought so too Suzie just trying to get the timeline clear in my head
Tom really is an arrogant controlling nasty piece of work but when I saw that tear run down his face in the family room I almost felt sorry for him
I don’t think it can be the mother I don’t see why it would be Dylan or anyone outside the family
Oh I m in a muddle

mumofmadboys Sat 25-Jan-20 20:06:54

Perhaps it will turn out to be Jess?? Seems unlikely but there has to be some sort of twist! And she had sex with her best friend's husband which is a terrible thing to do

BlueBelle Sat 25-Jan-20 20:46:54

Well Jess can do the needle stuff oh I wonder if Jess and Kate joined forces and were trying to get Tom, locked the girls in so they couldn’t see anything and it went wrong

suziewoozie Sat 25-Jan-20 22:51:36

That tear was one of thwarted rage - how dare his mother not turn up and leave him looking like a lemon in the visiting room? He’ll get even .....
