So... wink

I will never forget:-
Jo Jo Rabbit
Hubby and I went to the movies last year to watch "Jo Jo Rabbit" - As it ended we all stood and began dancing, and snapping our fingers (you have to see the movie to understand) not a dry eye in the house.

Wish I could forget "Erasurehead"

Dancer in the Dark. Bjork is in it. Traumatised for days. Never again.
I want to see JJ Rabbit.
I enjoy All about Eve every time I see it. My favourite, probably.

AAE absolute classic.

I loved Once Upon a Time in America. Not really my "thing", but a memorable film.

Also Psycho - I know it practically word for word. smile.

I've seen too many disturbing movies ..

I loved The Blind Side-

ananimous Thu 13-Feb-20 17:03:02

Yes, I thought Blind Side was brilliant too, great acting!

Empire of the Sun is another that left an impression on me-

The Apple. Au Revoirs les Enfants. Shawshank Redemption. Shutter Island.

Midnight Express is a movie I could NEVER watch again although it's a brilliant film about what happens if you smuggle drugs through customs. I think it's a film all teenagers should watch in school
Another film I'd never watch again is the Exorcist. Scared the bjesus out of me when I was 14 and even though there are scarier movies out today just cant bring myself to re watch it.
REGAN ?

I watched The Shape of Water and The Favourite as they had won Oscars and BAFTAs.......I have no idea why they won???

I watched - The Deer Hunter- a very good film but I could never watch again - the Russian Roulette game!

One of the films I watch any time it comes up on TV is The Scent of a Woman - so well acted.

Arachnophobia. Watched it many years ago. Found out recently it is meant to be a comedy! Not going to watch it again to look for the funny bits lol x

Schindler's List was one film I've never forgotten. I cried so much at it. Others:

The boy in the striped pyjamas
Joker
The Scent of a Woman

We never fail to laugh and cry at "Groundhog Day", one of our favourites. We also adore "Untouchable", a French film based on a true story, and found ourselves watching yet again "Some Like it Hot" on television over Christmas. My eldest granddaughters watched this at least every day when they came down on holiday, probably started when about 6 - goodness knows what they thought of the cross dressing! They still love it, now aged 26 and 23!

Anniebach Thu 13-Feb-20 21:26:37

Four Weddings and a Funeral

P.S. I Love You

Casablanca - just to hear Bogart say ‘we will always have Paris’

Chewbacca Thu 13-Feb-20 21:42:33

Favourite film ever is Calamity Jane; know all the words and sing my head off all the way through.
Worst was La La Land. 2 hours of my life I won't get back again.

Joelise Thu 13-Feb-20 21:42:48

Beaches
The Graduate
And Breakfast at Tiffany’s are my all time favourites.

quizqueen Thu 13-Feb-20 21:47:09

The Notebook-my favourite film.
Mother...very disturbing.

GagaJo Thu 13-Feb-20 21:51:54

Loved:
A Question of Silence. Very old Dutch feminist film.
The German Sisters. Ditto, but... German

Hated and had nightmares for years about The Exorcist.
Genuinely thought The Bad Lieutenant with Nicholas Cage was a spoof, his acting was SO bad.

paddyanne Thu 13-Feb-20 22:16:04

Soldier Blue ,sad and frightening ,I saw it when I was just 16 .Feel good films-The Way We Were ,The Bishops Wife I watch them both at leaast oce every year

May7 Thu 13-Feb-20 22:22:41

quizqueen oh the Notebook made me weep buckets . James Garner is so lovely and it's such a heartbreaking story about love and caring . Defy anyone to watch it and not be moved.

BlueBelle Thu 13-Feb-20 22:38:46

Two seen a long time ago that have always stayed with me are The Colour Purple and Rabbit Proof Fence both hard hitting and sad beyond words

Oopsminty Thu 13-Feb-20 22:43:58

A Night to Remember

I saw this as a child and it sparked my interest in Titanic

The James Cameron was quite a feast for the eyes but not a patch on A Night to Remember

And Jaws!

I must have seen that 20 times or more

Hardly cultural classics I know ;-)
