I found Lara’s thread very useful and it was very popular so, as Lara hasn’t started a new thread I have.

Any suggestions on what to watch tonight gransnetters?

Do you think they broadcast WWTBAM out of sequence?
It's very convenient to have a big winner in the last episode, and not someone who crashes out after getting the £100 question wrong!

It wouldn't be me as I know nothing about American football.

Gogglebox is back tonight.

I shall watch Miss Marple on Drama, which will fill most of the evening.

Have seen it so many times I feel like one of the cast......

Ah but which miss marple. I can’t bear to watch anyone but Joan Hickson in the role !

The million pound winner is a history teacher at GS1’s school and a very popular one at that. He’s staying on to see his A level group through next year. His wife is a nurse. His brother won £500,000 on a quiz just months ago. Good feeling when the life changing money goes to someone who will apparently use it wisely.

We didn’t get to see it as still battling with our change from Virgin to BT. Wishing we had just paid the 25% increase. My friend’s changeover took 4 weeks so we may have a way to go now.

Kamiso It was a very pleasant show to watch. Fully recommend it when you get linked up.

Watched Channel 5 prog about Center Parcs last night, as we'd had quite a few holidays with children and one grandchild there and some lovely memories from those time.

After that, at 9 pm BBC2 something entirely different, Simon Schama on the "Romantics", I like reading about Byron, Keates et al. Very interesting lots of parallels with the present time.

Yes, Joan Hickson is the ‘one and only’ Miss M.

I could watch her time after time
Julia Mackenzie - dreadful
Geraldine McEwan - worse ?
Joan hickson is Irreplaceable except possibly by Julie Walters ?

Finally got there so will watch later. Two visits from inside engineers and one from an outside engineer but never the twain shall meet. Also numerous buck passing phone calls.

Finally sorted by DD1. My friend ordered hers mid August and finally got it up and running two days ago! Her OH had a light bulb moment and changed the batteries in the remote. She now has two spare bt boxes.

Kominsky Method on Netflix, with Michael Douglas and Alan arkin.

Brilliant!

Bellanonna Sat 12-Sept-20 23:23:24

Didn’t you find it weird, though, Marmight with no audience and a much reduced and distanced orchestra? Apart from that, yes very enjoyable.

Oopsminty Sat 12-Sept-20 23:29:20

I enjoyed Last Night of the Proms.

Yes, it was very different, but how wonderful to hear and see some live music.

It was very poignant and the beautiful violinist, Nicola Benedetti, was just a dream to listen to. The Lark Ascending. Such a beautiful piece.

I watched The Duchess on Netflix. All about the life of a single mother, her daughter, ex husband and her boyfriend. She is wacky and her life is chaos, her daughter a little priggish at times and her ex husband is a rebel without a cause. Good fun and different.

The Guardian gives 4* for Ratched on Netflix.

Has anyone seen it please?

travelsafar Sat 19-Sept-20 08:43:18

I binge watched it yesterday and from the beginning was hooked. Only have a couple of episodes to watch now. It is supposed to be based on the nurse from One flew over the Cuckoo Nest. It is all based in a physciatric hospital and tells the story of the many lives who are all intertwined. I loved it. It has a real 50's vibe with the decor , the clothes and the cars used. Try it you may be surprised. smile

This evening I'll be watching Mama Mia Here We Go Again for a bit of escapist fun which is on ITV2. It won't get my full attention as I'll be catching up with the newspaper at the same time.

TerriBull Sun 20-Sept-20 10:01:02

Haven't been watching much tv we've been away in Devon. I'll catch up with the David Tennant drama "Des" only saw the first one and it was very well acted by the three main leads. I will definitely watch the new Tom Hollander drama on BBC 1 at 9 pm, I think it's called "Us" it looks good from the trailers, plus I really like him as an actor.

Calendargirl Sun 20-Sept-20 11:05:48

Despite many ?from most GN’ers, I shall probably watch the second episode of The Singapore Grip, hoping it will be worth following.
Will probably watch ‘Us’ on catch up.
