Weather forecasts

I enjoy keeping up with all the news stories from Britain. Its kind of like guiltily peeking at a road crash. But that's another story. But please! Why weather forecasts every few minutes? Most of us can check the weather details on our phones at any time but every single time I switch on tv theres some jobsworth blethering on about the weather and going on and on for ages, splitting the tiny UK into bite size bits and forecasting every damned raindrop and sunbeam! Who, in heaven's name, needs to be so frequently and needlessly informed when they can get an hour by hour accurate forecast on their phones? And please don't tell me, "old people". IM OLD!!
Here in France, the weather for the entire country (4 times the size of UK) is briefly summarized in 30 seconds, once an hour.
Now, wheres my tin hat?

It's lovely here after a cloudy, showery day but I think the gale is forecast for early hours.

This morning I didn't put the washing out because I was sure it would rain. It has been blue sky and sunshine all day and I am going to have to use my tumble dryer. sad
