Any really old tv series you’d like to see again? I’d like to see the Forsyte Saga

I’d like to see Tutti Frutti - I can’t remember too much about it except it was Scottish, quite funny and had people like Robbie Coltrane and Richard Wilson in it. I really enjoyed it.

A Bouquet of Barbed Wire. I have been told that a repeat was shown, but unfortunately for me, it was during the seven years that we did not have a TV ?

Sometimes you can find DVDs of old programmes. I bought 'The Charmer' from the BBC. Nigel Havers oh yes!

A series called ‘McKenzie’, back in the late 70’s/early 80’s.

Howard's Way. I'm a boaty person with a bit of intrigue.

The ghost and Mrs Muir.

I, Claudius. I loved it and what a cast.

I saw TuttiFrutti again recently. I found it on the BBC i-player.
I'd like to see 'Cracker' again.

Jewel in the Crown

Brideshead Revisited ( the one with Jeremy Irons and Anthony Andrews)

Family at War

Not a series but a one off drama called The Shutter Falls. Doesn’t seem to be on utube etc. I loved it. As for series A Very Peculiar Practice, Beiderbecke (I do have that on dvd and still love it) and When the Boat Comes In, which I have never seen. Oh and Love for Lydia. And The Fortunes of War.....

Family at War

It’s been on Talking Pictures a little while ago.

I agree MayBee70 about the Beiderbecke series. I would add Crossing the Floor.

Xander Fri 23-Oct-20 20:24:37

Jewel in the Crown is available via youtub. I watched it last week all in one go!!!

MiniMoon Fri 23-Oct-20 21:18:51

Northern Exposure.

Its available as a DVD box set but I don't own a DVD player.
It was a lovely quirky series about a Doctor from New York working in a small town in Alaska. I haven't tried YouTube for it, but I will.

tidyskatemum Fri 23-Oct-20 21:23:58

Tutti Frutti was one of my all time favourites. Full on Robbie Coltrane and Emma Thompson before she got all luvvie and a pain in the bum.

Also loved Hamish McBeth ( why does autocorrect keep trying to change H....h to Hampshire?)

Grannybags Fri 23-Oct-20 21:24:34

The Thorn Birds

And because of Maybe70 When the Boat Comes In

Hetty58 Fri 23-Oct-20 21:28:45

I recently bought a DVD player (having never had one) and I'm amazed how good it is for £20. I can now watch the Hitchcock box set I was given ten years ago!

Citizen Smith

The one I have never forgotten was Pharic McLaren's 6 part version of Sunset Song, with Vivienne Heilbron as Chris. I remember watching it on Sunday evenings while I was breastfeeding so must have been 1970 or 1973.
