I loved the Black Beauty tv series and remember galloping around the garden singing the theme tune! Also enjoyed Follyfoot, The Sullivans and The Cedar Tree.

When I was little it was Andy Pandy and Bill and Ben.

Then I progressed to
Crackerjack
Lost in Space
I Dream of Jeanie
Beverley Hillbillies

High Chapperal. Anyone remember Blue? I was in love with him ? ?

I’ve googled and attached a photo!

Banana Splits, Wacky Races, Catch the Pigeon, Josie and the Pussy Cats, Tomorrow's People, Scooby Doo, Captain Pugwash, Mary Mungo and Midge

Also aged around 7, I was absolutely nuts about Thunderbirds. There were 3 of the Tracy boys that I wanted to marry - Scott, Virgil and Alan. That their surname was the same as my Christian name was more problematic to me than the fact that they were wooden puppets

Does anyone remember a children’s serial called “The Barnstormers?”

Sparklefizz Sun 10-Jan-21 18:51:26

I've been singing "Champion the Wonder Horse" in my head for the last hour. Sigh.

Ooo yes, Urmstongran I loved Mr Pastry and Miss Print.
Until I just Googled to make sure of her name, I always thought her name was Miss Prim.
I've learnt something today.

And I'm singing The Clampets theme to be in my head! Bizarrely I remember all the words.

Crackerjack and Anne of Green Gables.

I also liked Blue Peter , when the made items out of junk.

Kate1949 Sun 10-Jan-21 19:13:25

Thank you Granny . The link wouldn't work on my phone but I assume it's was The Clampets theme smile

Grannynannywanny Sun 10-Jan-21 19:16:40

Yes it was Kate1949. Your mention of it made me have a look on YouTube and there it was in all its splendour. I loved that programme. I copied and pasted the link but bizarrely the clip seems to have vanished now.

Kate1949 Sun 10-Jan-21 19:21:39

Thank you anyway.

Thanks Marydoll. I did indeed know all the words!

eazybee When I was ten years old I was given 2 shillings. I bought a Prudence kitten glove puppet with my windfall. I have fond memories of Prudence and of going to my friend's house to watch Muffin the Mule on their small television. I remember that the TV was on the grand piano. Marlene and I used sit on stools, with our folded arms on the piano, chins on hands, to watch Muffin. My friend's corgi used to lie under the piano and if we moved our feet he'd attack them. I still remember the voice of Annette Mills. Happy memories.

Thanks Marydoll for the Beverly Hillbillies link. Great memories of it.

I can vaguely remember after a period of time a couple of the main characters were replaced with different actors. I preferred the original cast.

Kate1949 I too loved the Beverly Hillbillies, and can also remember all the words to the intro. I have watched it quite recently, and, unlike other childhood comedies, it is still very funny. Loved Blue Peter; I so wanted to be a middle-class child, with sticky-back plastic and lots of empty Fairy Liquid bottles to make all sorts of craft creations ? But my most favourite childhood programme (I was about 10) was the Avengers - I just thought Emma Peel was amazing and so sophisticated. I watched it a couple of years ago and the storylines are so far-fetched, and the stage sets so amateur, but Steed and Mrs Peel still looked the business!

Marydoll Sun 10-Jan-21 19:56:04

Merlot, I did like Robert Horton.

Oh dear, I'm going to be on You Tube all evening!

However, My absolute favourite was Rawhide with Clint Eastwood. (Swoon)

Grannynannywanny Sun 10-Jan-21 19:58:10

Does anyone remember “Green Acres” with Eddie Albert and Ava Gabor? I used to really enjoy it.

boheminan Sun 10-Jan-21 19:59:33

Anything with horses in, so all the cowboys, plus Fury, Champion and (my friend) Flicka,

Kate1949 Sun 10-Jan-21 20:09:57

Thinking back, it was mostly Westerns we watched. I also remember Bronco starting Ty Hardin I think and one called Gunslinger.
Hospital ones. Emergency Ward 10 and Dr Kildare.

Yes I do Grannynannywanny. We used to watch it.
It was either Eva or Zsa Zsa Gabor.

Urmstongran Sun 10-Jan-21 20:20:37

Both beautiful weren’t they? I seem to recall a 3rd sister??

Urmstongran Sun 10-Jan-21 20:24:10

Good old Wikipedia (glad I made a donation last month I use it a lot for nonsense like this!).

Zsa Zsa Gábor/Sisters
The Gabor sisters were three famous Hungarian-American actresses/socialites: Magda (11 June 1915 – 6 June 1997), Zsa Zsa (6 February 1917 – 18 December 2016), and Eva (11 February 1919 – 4 July 1995).
