Just watched first episode.

Looks promising.

Guessed the necklace would feature prominently in the storyline.

I might try again on catch up. I like James Nesbitt but this didn't grab me at all.

Shandy57 Sun 21-Feb-21 22:04:44

My daughter is living in Belfast, I watched it too. James Nesbitt is great - and the curly haired boy, loved him when he was a silly teenager in whatever that was called!

Lillie Sun 21-Feb-21 22:07:13

I enjoyed it too. What is the doctor's involvement?

Calendargirl Sun 21-Feb-21 22:08:33

I think with its links to the Irish Troubles it comes across as grim Merlotgran.

Lillie

I enjoyed it too. What is the doctor's involvement?

Oh, she’ll probably be James Nesbitt’s love interest!

❤️

Really enjoyed!

Gave up after 10 minutes. Thought it was embarrassingly awful and the accents made me cringe.

Jaxjacky Mon 22-Feb-21 09:28:50

Thoroughly enjoyed it, husband is Belfast born and bred, with the accent kircubbin2000! So our watching was occasionally punctuated with ‘that’s xx’.

Urmstongran Mon 22-Feb-21 09:34:03

I found it really good and I’m looking forward to next Sunday’s episode (of 4 I think so not over drawn out). By then the clocks will have gone forward an hour!

We enjoyed it too, looking forward to the next episode.

Sar53 Mon 22-Feb-21 09:38:39

Not sure about the clocks Urms, I think that is March.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 22-Feb-21 09:39:23

Wasn’t interested in watching it but DH put it on, after 20minutes I was enjoying it.

TerriBull Mon 22-Feb-21 09:54:44

I've recorded it, will give it a go, one episode only, if it doesn't reel me in, then won't continue. Probably won't watch it tonight though because that wonderful series with Nicola Walker and Sanjeev Bhaskar returns.

Urmstongran Mon 22-Feb-21 09:58:18

Yes that’s right Sar53 the last episode will be 22nd March and BST starts the Sunday after!

fevertree Mon 22-Feb-21 11:30:20

We watched it, thought it is promising. However smile I need to find an episode guide, or a review that will help me understand what the heck went on half the time! Anyone with a take on it, please? smile

paddyanne Mon 22-Feb-21 11:38:55

I like a NI accent so this was right up my street, some good actors in it .Lorcan Cranitch who I remember from Cracker and Ballykissangel is always good .As an introduction to the back story I think it worked well.

Boz Mon 22-Feb-21 11:41:53

It seems to be about the keeping of Peace in NA, at any cost. I enjoyed it because it was sharp, well-written and pacy. Jed Mercurio (I think). Would have preferred it over 4 nights.

Jaxjacky Mon 22-Feb-21 11:42:36

fevertree if pm was working, I’d message you, don’t want to put on here for those who’ve recorded/catch up!

henetha Mon 22-Feb-21 11:43:51

A good start to a promising series, hopefully. James Nesbit is always brilliant anyway.

Jane43 Mon 22-Feb-21 11:50:52

I fell asleep half way through but it seemed to pick up at the end so I will stick with it.

fevertree Mon 22-Feb-21 18:53:24

Hi JaxJacky that is kind of you, thank you. I have since Googled and found a Radio Times recap and explanations of various theories grin

Lillie Mon 22-Feb-21 19:15:19

Didn't Jed Mercurio write The Bodyguard too Boz, which was excellent.

Greyduster Tue 23-Feb-21 09:22:28

We enjoyed it. Got it on catch up, as DH forgot to tape it, so no subtitles, which would have helped, though I’m pretty good with accents. I like James Nesbitt, so am looking forward to the rest.

grannyticktock Tue 23-Feb-21 15:00:38

Greyduster, if you mean. iPlayer, I can get subtitles on this by using the Add Subtitles button on my TV remote. It doesn't work on prerecorded programmes or on ITV hub, but it does on iPlayer (on my system, anyway).
