Just watched first episode.

Looks promising.

Guessed the necklace would feature prominently in the storyline.

Kim19 a good thriller/mystery is one where I can’t work out who did it, that’s what keeps me watching or reading.

This was recommended to me so I attempted to watch it but found James Nesbit's performance unpleasant; his delivery is robotic and his jaw looked as though it had been wired.
I laughed aloud when I read to heading to the review in the paper this morning:
'Is James Nesbitt moody, mysterious or constipated?'

tanith Mon 08-Mar-21 07:32:50

I fell asleep got too tired of all the face posturing I’m really disappointed as James Nesbitt is usually so good.

Urmstongran Mon 08-Mar-21 07:43:46

I’m finding it tense! No wonder Nesbit’s boss looked annoyed to be accused of being Goliath! He must be thinking ‘it’s not me so it MUST be you. I’ve been stitched up here!’. Well because of the communication system it has to be a serving officer who was there in the 70’s so it can only be one or the other of them. My money’s on Nesbit but - didn’t he look shocked (and shaky) when he shot that 70y old man in the head? So then I think it isn’t him. Could Goliath be Nesbit’s missing wife? She was an officer in Intelligence and will have contacts. I don’t think she’s dead. Could she be the woman in the car (with a wig) do you think?

There’s a lot of intrigue regarding the Troubles and I think this series handles the terror and menace around it all superbly. Who to trust? Who did what? All covered up over time ‘nothing to see here, move along’.

I can’t wait for next week!

Here we are again, urmstongran - I agree with your summary and view of Bloodlands.
The Troubles left a legacy that permeates life in NI. It’s a beautiful place, lovely friendly people. The good Friday agreement was necessary but underlying resentments linger

There is the third officer though- can't even remember his name. But I do wonder while the other two are chasing around trying to find evidence about each other is he secretly Goliath?

henetha Mon 08-Mar-21 10:58:34

I fell asleep! Missed the last ten minutes or so. But I'll look on the iplayer later.

Nolly Mon 08-Mar-21 11:08:30

Yes, I thought Dinger was eliminated as Goliath a bit too quick. Maybe? You never know. Phew, that was close when Twomey returned to caravan whilst Tori still there. Got a bit worried there.

Charleygirl5 Mon 08-Mar-21 11:52:45

I did not see series 1 and to be honest, I am not 100% certain what is going on in series 2! I am hoping all will be revealed next Sunday.

Blinko Mon 08-Mar-21 11:58:38

We'll be catching up tonight whilst the H&M show is on the other channel.

Welshwife Mon 08-Mar-21 12:35:11

This is Season 1 Charleygirl
I cannot recall the third Goliath suspect at all - has he been in it much?
I wondered about the wife still being alive. The secret services were able to remove operatives - maybe she is abroad somewhere.

trisher Mon 08-Mar-21 12:38:19

He keeps turning up briefly. You did see the woman officer asking him where he was on the night of the killing and he said at home on his own. The doctor is going to see the daughter's owl pendant isn't she???

Calendargirl Mon 08-Mar-21 12:39:02

The 3rd Goliath suspect is Dinger? is that his name? The chap with the beard. Is he the pathologist, or something to do with the bodies?

Basically it’s anyone old enough to be practically drawing their police pension.

Eloethan Mon 08-Mar-21 12:42:49

I'm finding it very confusing.

Charleygirl5 Mon 08-Mar-21 15:30:10

Eloethan join the club.

dogsmother Mon 08-Mar-21 15:42:27

Haha I’m thoroughly enjoying it all. I don’t believe the wife is still alive although it’s odd there’s no body......Surely Nesbit is Goliath and killed her and her lover..... very much looking forward to conclusion.

Greyduster Mon 08-Mar-21 18:31:40

I think the wife is still alive. If she was in the intelligence services she would have had no trouble dropping off the radar. Looking forward to the next episode but I hope there isn’t a follow up series.

LadyGracie Thu 11-Mar-21 08:05:56

I'm so confused, who was the woman at the end with Jack Twomey, I know I've seen her before and who's Rafferty. I'll watch the last episode to see who Goliath is but I'll be glad when it's finished. I can't stand James Nesbit.

Calendargirl Thu 11-Mar-21 09:34:25

LadyGracie

The woman at the end was the wife of one of the three bodies (I think).

Not sure who Rafferty is either!

H1954 Thu 11-Mar-21 09:48:20

Wasn't the woman at the end with Twomey the widows one of the male bodies found on the island?
I was also wondering if someone on the human remains team might be involved historically?

LadyGracie Thu 11-Mar-21 10:27:35

Calendargirl it's gratifying to know I'm not alone. Thank you ?

GrannyGravy13 Thu 11-Mar-21 10:47:00

I am totally confused confused

Urmstongran Sun 14-Mar-21 22:09:40

OMG what a bluddy clever ending!
So neat & perfect.
He got away with it! The others in the Force suspect him but now they cannot prove a thing as all leads are . Dead.
?

Calendargirl Sun 14-Mar-21 22:21:25

Series 2 to follow?

Calendargirl Sun 14-Mar-21 22:22:05

With missing wife turning up?
