Good to see the new series of this. Looks promising.

Nicola Walker looking as miserable as ever, but I don’t suppose she had a lot to look happy about really.

Several back stories going on behind the obvious suspects.

GrandmasueUK Mon 29-Mar-21 22:14:08

That was so sad ?Really enjoyed that series

seacliff Mon 29-Mar-21 22:14:36

I'm in tears too. What a fantastic series, just loved it. I am really sad we won't see the characters again, but they stopped on a high. It was probably the right thing to do. Thank goodness she left her Dad that message.

Thank goodness she left her Dad that message.

Oh yes, I thought that seacliff. Thank heavens she did.

Very appropriate and very moving.

Fabulous series, great stories and wonderful actors. I’m emotionally drained.

Sara1954 Mon 29-Mar-21 22:24:16

I did not see that coming, watching it with my daughter, we were both really shocked, we didn’t expect her to die.
We felt that in the end, the only thing which really mattered was Cassie, the rest of if seemed insignificant, we didn’t really care who did what to whom.
I still feel really upset. Surely the mark of excellent television when you care so much for the characters.

ElaineI Mon 29-Mar-21 22:24:36

Noooo! That'll be that then!

Ellianne Mon 29-Mar-21 22:26:16

So sincere at the end.
I feel drained, but thoroughly enjoyed it.

nadateturbe Mon 29-Mar-21 22:34:34

I agree Seacliff. Better to stop on a high. But what a series. Fantastic. Great acting. We were almost crying at the end too.

Sunlover Mon 29-Mar-21 22:44:05

Great TV. So sad if it’s the last series.
She’d more than a few tears. ??

Marydoll Mon 29-Mar-21 22:46:01

Thoroughly enjoyed it, but what a sad ending. ?

BlueBelle Mon 29-Mar-21 22:59:59

Ahh that was brilliant I loved that series so much
very very sad ending
But I think they re right, so many dramas go on a series too long Last tango was one and Strike too last series such a let down
This was so well acted by every one of the main cast
Loved it,will so miss Cassie and crew ....beautifully done

Kate1949 Mon 29-Mar-21 23:07:45

I wasn't expecting that sad

Kim19 Mon 29-Mar-21 23:10:04

Sad but a fitting ending. They were an incredible team.

Maggiemaybe Mon 29-Mar-21 23:39:26

That was a very powerful ending, and very moving. But could someone please explain what the relevance was of the young lad turning up at the door of Matthew Walsh’s brother Clive and saying he was his nephew, Joshua? confused What are we missing / or have we forgotten?

Eloethan Tue 30-Mar-21 01:16:38

I thought this was the best series of Unforgotten. Very sad ending but better to end on a high. So many series don't know when to stop.

I got confused about nephew turning up as well - but then I often get confused about dramas I see on the TV!

Calendargirl Tue 30-Mar-21 07:30:44

I thought the nephew turning up was another way of showing how families can re-unite.

The uncle Clive used to send nephew Jerome, I think his name was, Christmas cards, he obviously felt so guilty he had never looked for his brother Matthew when he was chased that night, he never went to help him.

The nephew had a poor relationship with his dad, and after Cassie/Sunny interviewed him after his body was found, think it made him re think about his estranged family. He had a wife, baby and steady job, so had made a better life for himself despite a rough start.

On another note, we never saw any more of Sheila Hancock’s harridan of a mother!

Ellianne Tue 30-Mar-21 07:48:03

Yes I was disappointed grumpy mother Sheila didn't come back into it!

Polarbear2 Tue 30-Mar-21 07:48:37

Question _ great series but didn’t get why they got into cocaine smuggling?? Why did they do that when they were both trying to be good people???

Iam64 Tue 30-Mar-21 08:00:16

Polarbear2- greed

Calendargirl Tue 30-Mar-21 08:00:49

Cocaine smuggling-money I would think.

Dean had a good lifestyle and did lots of fund raising for disabled son. And Ram was a flash character, probably wanting to prove to his family how successful he was.

Sarnia Tue 30-Mar-21 08:03:30

Nicola Walker and Sanjeev Bhaskar made a compelling partnership. I wonder if there will be any future Unforgotten series with a different partner for Sunny? It really showed how life can be turned upside down so quickly and how it affects so many lives. As for the 4 suspects. I found them all equally unpleasant with murky pasts. We found out about the skeleton's in Fiona's closet but we were left wondering why Ram was hated by his father. When Liz gets jailed for her part in Matthew Walsh's murder, some nursing home is going to get the joy of her mother. Wonderful series with a very sad ending I did not expect.

Iam64 Tue 30-Mar-21 08:24:41

Brilliant series. The relationship between Cassie and Sonny was one of the best cop show duos ever.
I wasn’t expecting the ending, made me weep
