Hello
I’m not really a ‘feel good’ movie type; in fact I’m not even really a movie type.
However, DH is in desperate need of chivvying / cheering.
I know that I can rely on you… thanks

About Time - young men in a family can travel back in time to undo, or do over situations. Stars Domnhall Gleeson and Bill Nighy as his father. Weepy at the end, but the whole thing is charming and definitely feelgood

Get comfortably settled, with a glass of something relaxing, a plate of delicious nibbles and watch.....
The Hundred Foot Journey, with Helen Mirren and Om Puri.
It's an absolute joy!

There's Harry and Tonto mid 70s film which is really charming. An older man faces eviction from his apartment and sets off across the US to track down his children. He takes his beloved cat with him and meets and helps various people along the way with a poignant ending.
It also stars a young Larry Hagman.

Well, I’ve just spent a lazy couple of hours watching ‘Great Expectations’ the 1940’s version with John Mills and Alec Guinness.

Should have been doing something more useful, but hey ho, made some sausage rolls this morning so thought I deserved a bit of ‘me’ time.

It had a happy ending, so think it qualifies as ‘feel good’.

Have just watched Falling for Figaro, about two aspiring singers. Feel good, lighthearted . Joanna Lumley stars. Really recommend.

Lincslass Sat 18-Dec-21 17:07:05

If you have Netflix though.

Another vote from me for Florence Foster Jenkins. It’s a lovely film with Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant - funny too.

jroberts1 Sat 18-Dec-21 18:10:10

We watched a film called Last Christmas with Emilia Clarke and really enjoyed it

eazybee Sat 18-Dec-21 18:10:26

I endorse Great Expectations which I also watched this afternoon while pretending to wrap presents.
Scrooge with Alistair Sim is also brilliant.

Iam64 Sat 18-Dec-21 19:11:20

How is Blinded. Y the Lightvracist JaneJudge? I loved it.
