anyone watching this........Not my thing just going to watch Noel gallagher though.

MissAdventure Sun 26-Jun-22 12:12:16

I would have liked to see the Stones.

Kate1949 Sun 26-Jun-22 12:14:21

I saw them twice in the '60s but we had seats. They were never my favourites. It was a phase! I couldn't be doing with the crowds at Hyde Park.

MissAdventure Sun 26-Jun-22 12:16:37

And the weeping in a bottle incident? smile

MissAdventure Sun 26-Jun-22 12:17:21

Weeing! Not weeping.

silverlinings48 was that Finsbury Park Empire? saw Cliff Richard there in his Living Doll days

I wonder how many people have actually met, without ever knowing it, over the years.

It's such a shame that nothing is private on the forums, because we could try and work out which people might have met, be distantly related, or had friends in common.

Kate1949 Sun 26-Jun-22 12:22:24

MissA Yes. Nice.

MissAdventure Sun 26-Jun-22 12:28:40

I was at a festival and one of the crowd threw a bottle of wee - guess who got hit in the back of the neck with it, as the lid flew off and it sprayed everywhere? angry

Kate1949 Sun 26-Jun-22 12:32:01

Yuk shock

Six degrees of separation (or fewer)

It's amazing how often it happens

MissAdventure Sun 26-Jun-22 12:38:38

It could be really interesting.
I quite often see reference being made to where I live (well, a few times) and I'd love to say "I live there!"

Squiffy Sun 26-Jun-22 12:51:47

Last night was amazing! Oh to have half his energy! Did anyone else notice how young his hands look?!

MissAdventure Sun 26-Jun-22 13:01:34

Yes, I did!
They looked very soft and wrinkle free.
They still have some padding on them, rather than thin and veiny like mine

Squiffy Sun 26-Jun-22 13:32:02

I’m glad you spotted that, too, MissA! Yes, you’re right about the ‘padding’. They also looked very nimble, if that’s the right word to apply to fingers!

MissAdventure Sun 26-Jun-22 13:34:57

I suppose the guitar playing keeps fingers nimble?
He certainly looks in good shape all over, doesn't he?
Stands up straight, skin looks good, too.

Having watched a programme on Paul the other night I thought it would have been nice to have a couple of clips on the screen of him performing with Wings in the 1970s. They could have synched the screen to his performance. He looked great back then and Linda could have appeared too. It would have reminded everyone how good he was in his youth. I'd rather see Linda on the screen than Johnny Depp.

Grandmabatty Sun 26-Jun-22 16:17:20

I thought I would watch Paul McCartney today but I can't find it! BBC I player doesn't seem to have it. Surely it would be very popular?

Kate1949 Sun 26-Jun-22 16:50:16

We can't find it either Grandmabatty as our recording missed off the last bit. I think it may be on tomorrow.

Found Macca embarrassing, enjoyed Noel Gallagher apart from his foul language in between each song. He is very talented but also so stupid. I like listening to him sing but not talk. So glad the weather is good for everyone.

Kate1949 Sun 26-Jun-22 17:22:16

He's 80. He's allowed to be embarrassing ?

Chestnut Sun 26-Jun-22 17:22:50

Obviously Noel is like his brother Liam who is so thick he can't put a sentence together without several f words. They and Adele are just coarse and inarticulate. In all the interviews I've seen, the Beatles were never rude, never swore, and were always charming, funny and witty. It was another world back then.

Kate1949 Sun 26-Jun-22 17:25:27

How I agree re The Beatles Chestnut and the were lovely to their fans, including me!

Chestnut Sun 26-Jun-22 17:30:42

The Beatles were respectful, both to the interviewers and their fans. Respect is the most important thing in the world, without it everyone becomes selfish and rude.

Greenfinch Sun 26-Jun-22 17:42:35

I am another one who can’t find it on Catch Up .It has been suggested that because the BBC did not air the performance live ( there was a one hour delay apparently) this has caused a delay in getting it stacked on iPlayer. I don’t really understand it but that is what I have read.hmm

Bridie22 Sun 26-Jun-22 18:04:01

Wasn't impressed with Diana Ross ?
