Last week's postponed Strictly is on tonight at 7pm. Apparently Rose & Giovanni will be reprising their winning routine.
Shirley’s biased against Fleur.
Right decision that Fleur didn't get sent home.
All I can think is that Shirley was bewitched by Giovanni kissing her at the start.
So sad that Richie has gone so early. He had so much more to give. I did think Fleur was better dancer though.
AT by Carlos and Nikita incredible.
Earlier remarks about costumes impinging or obscuring movements of dancing I fully agree with. It's great to see the Halloween costumes--all showbiz after all--but I do hope they aren't so over the top that we can't full appreciate the movements.
We are shocked, I really think it was the costumes, and also all that faffing about at the beginning, Len wouldn’t have approved if that!
The costumes, and maybe the fact they were on first? It is often said that has a bearing.
Professional dancers brilliant again, both at the beginning of tonight's SCD, & during Adam Lambert's "Mad about the Boy".
Shame that the middle scoring dancers were in the dance off.
I noticed that for the second week that Shirley actually disagreed with the votes of her 3 fellow judges, although, of course it was already decided.
Roll on next week for my next Strictly fix!
There's something abour Shirley this year that's quite odd and particularly the way she is towards Fleur.
Agree with you on both counts Sarah1954, but I was still surprised to see them go.

I agree, I think they could have been a lot of fun, I voted for them last week.

Jayde was very brave, appearing in that get-up! I wouldn`t have dared.
Well, this, yes. Part of me thinks 'good for her for daring' and part of me thinks 'if you are large, or have physical features which are less than flattering, probably best to dress in a way that 'helps' rather than make it much more prominent.
Totally aside, fun but very stompy, so not good dancing, which is what it is all about after all.

If I voted, I’d have voted for them last week, but this week, although I was surprised they left, they were low on my list so wouldn’t have got my vote.

Same here, just didn’t work, I was still surprised to see them go

Most of me thinks "wear what you like, girl". You don't need any "help".
Glad Richie’s gone.
The most over hyped, annoying, ‘celebrity’ around.
I'm not too bothered about Richie. Didn't know anything about him really but I shall miss Giovanni.
I thought he wouldn't make it to Halloween week this year and he hasn't.

Yes, get it. And yet- I am on the large size, and not ashamed of it- but I do not go around with mid-rift showing or short skirts or shorts, or low tops, exposing all. No-one wants to see it, really. And if I did, I would accept that comments made are partly or my making. Out of respect for myself and also for others, tbh.
Apologies I haven’t read whole thread. I only ever watch on record and watch dances and scores and some judges comments (Craig ).
The programme does bring out the worst in me … can’t take Tess, so vapid. Cannot bear how Motsi always gushes and automatically gives higher scores.

Agree.
His dance last night was poor, too much faffing about.
Bet Giovanni is not happy.
I’m disappointed to see Giovanni out but tbh I’d never heard of Richie. I preferred their dance last week. Too much time wasting around the judges at the start of Saturday’s dance. Len Goodman would have had his stop watch out and given them a piece of his mind for that chunk of time wasting ?
I don’t think Fleur deserved to be in the dance off. I was surprised it wasn’t Ellie and Johannes.

I find your response difficult to understand Fleurpepper.
If people make negative comments about you, that's not of your making, it's that this person making comments is a rude and insensitive person. You can wear what you like, and if I don't like it, tough on me.
Karen and Jayde were wearing almost identical outfits. Haven't heard anybody criticising Karen for what she wore. So its all based on subjective judgements of what people think is suitable attire for a "fat" person.
Jayde, Ellie S and Hamza (sp?) are showing viewers that people who don't have standard "attractive" bodies are as entitled as anyone to dance and to enjoy themselves.

Good on them for doing so.
I agree with you ?? about comments relating to size, shape and orientation, but on various social media platforms, you can immediately be jumped on/criticised e.g. for commenting on flat footed or stompy dancing which is true in reference to Jayde, or that he (Hamza) did too much just walking around and told that you’re only saying that because of his/her shape.
In terms of their actual dancing I think we already know what we are going to get from Ellie, Jayde and Hamza. It is directly linked to the limitations of their size, though nothing should hold anyone back.
Last year we had no idea how Rose would turn out, how she would cope with her disability and how she would evolve into such a beautiful, caring dancer. That for me was sheer magic, amazing to learn so much about deafness and no doubt total commitment on her part too. I just don't think that will happen this year or ever again and all we will get this series is the size issue being argued over ad infinitum.
I like Jayde, she looks full of joy when she dances, and that’s lovely to watch.
Nikita and Carlos were wonderful and Adam's singing was the icing on the cake. I wasn't sorry to see Richie go, I found him very irritating with all those flailing arms and legs. My main problem with Jayde is that she's so much bigger than her partner. Not just that she's "plus" size, but she's so much taller as well. I can't help thinking of a Donald McGill post card and it detracts from her dancing.
That's exactly it Deeda. In terms of the actual dancing Jayde and Karen could have perfect footwork, excellent timing and synchronisation, but what they can't have is that all important mirroring. Their lines just go to pot when they dance together and to me it just looks untidy.
