Yes, we all know it’s rubbish, but Corrie is an institution.

We need to have an active thread at all times.

Well I do believe Summer is leaving Corrie Soooooo
saying no more

Aveline Sat 14-Jan-23 10:36:40

It would be a terrible way for her to go. Billy would never recover!

Charleygirl5 Sat 14-Jan-23 11:07:26

Gormless Summer has seen better days so I will not be sorry to see her go.

I believe that ghastly Stephen has his sights on Carla and not in a nice way. The sooner he receives his one-way ticket to prison the better.

greenmossgiel Sat 14-Jan-23 12:01:00

Writers seem to have forgotten about Jenny’s boyfriend who Stephen turfed over some scaffolding. Poor lad didn’t go to Canada, but Stephen hauled his body into the back of a van and drove off with him. It would’ve been handy if he turned up in the van that Griff’s mates had stolen. That would’ve tied things up nicely. 🤔

Aveline Sat 14-Jan-23 12:47:21

Reading ahead it looks like Leo's Dad's memory might be coming back - he'd better watch out or Stephen will get him too!

NotTooOld

I've lost the plot. Why/how did Nick borrow money from Jacob's dad when he bought Debbie out of the Bistro?

Agree about Jacob of the staring eyes but I'm sorry he's going. Perhaps he'll be back.

I think Nick thought he was getting money from Harvey ( in prison who shot Sam's Mum) but turned out it was from his brother Jacob's Dad.
I think that's right NotTooOld

Aveline Sat 14-Jan-23 17:58:04

Nick needed the money as dry rot was found in the Bistro just after they'd spent every penny they had buying Debbie out

Calendargirl Mon 16-Jan-23 21:41:43

Thank goodness!

Of all the nurses on duty in A&E at Weathy General, it was good old Nurse Aggie who just happened to be around when Summer was brought in, and earwig on all that was going on.

What a relief!

Doodledog Mon 16-Jan-23 21:45:03

She’s remarkably indiscreet, isn’t she? Of course she’d intervene to stop a fraudulent admission to hospital, but as Summer is 18 can she take the decision to inform people on her behalf? (I’m guessing she did that - I wasn’t really paying attention).

Beechnut Mon 16-Jan-23 21:48:57

I was wondering why Audrey would need a roof box on her car!

Charleygirl5 Mon 16-Jan-23 21:59:34

I thought that Audrey had to give up driving many months ago so she would not need a car. Anyway, I am sure that the car she used to drive was a much smaller one. Can anybody else remember?

Doodledog Mon 16-Jan-23 21:59:40

Good point. To put boxes of peroxide in? Or hide her gin bottles?

Might the body (I’ve forgotten his name) be in there?

NotTooOld Mon 16-Jan-23 22:44:37

Pat Phelan, Calendargirl? OMG, is he coming back? I thought he was very dead?

So Summer has recovered, surrounded by no less than FOUR men, including dopey Aaron. Will she see sense, retake her A levels and go off to university after all?

How about Daisy and Daniel? I don't think she's right for him really. Perhaps he'll see sense and find someone else to become Bertie's new mummy.

Doodledog Mon 16-Jan-23 23:03:48

Summer wouldn’t last five minutes away from the scrutiny of the dads, motley a crew thought they are😂. She could run off with Aaron, although if he stays behind he could do the Cobbles Rehabilitation Course, get a whole new personality, and become a long-running character.

Agreed that Daisy and Daniel are ill-suited. They would be recreating the Ken and Deidre dynamic, which was rocky at best. Does nobody in Wetherfield look beyond the street for their partners?

Alioop Tue 17-Jan-23 07:05:12

Well, Summer's still alive so we still have to endure the whining from her and her minders. The break from Stephen is over too, the damn man is back and winding Rita & co all in, he's a creep. He's needs to go and soon,
Agree about Daisy and Daniel not suited. How long will we have to listen to Bridezilla going on about her mood board? I can't believe flowers arrived and they weren't from Tracy's!

Calendargirl Fri 20-Jan-23 20:43:25

The script lurches on, you couldn’t make it up, could you?

Another murder?

lemsip Fri 20-Jan-23 20:58:29

oh dear, whats his next move.

and £60 a day for childminding.

Calendargirl Fri 20-Jan-23 20:58:38

And no doubt ‘Oxford’ will have a spare place just waiting for Summer.

Calendargirl Fri 20-Jan-23 21:00:22

Would you want your child going to the madhouse that is Gemma’s?

👶👧🧒👦🧑

Alioop Fri 20-Jan-23 21:04:11

This is getting ridiculous now, at times tonight it was like a comedy. When is that idiot going to get caught, Elaine will be next at this rate 😈.

vegansrock Fri 20-Jan-23 21:13:24

You can’t just plonk a roof box on top of a car - you have to fix it to the roof bars or it will slide off a soon as you drive away. Surely you have to register and can’t go above a certain ratio of children if you are a childminder, plus you are supposed to engage with the kids, not just spend the whole time on your laptop.

BlueBelle Fri 20-Jan-23 21:15:24

Dafter and dafter it’s all like a Brian Rix farce

Calendargirl Fri 20-Jan-23 21:25:11

Elaine will be next at this rate

We can but hope.

What an idiot, wandering in with her coffee and pastries, then being cross that Stephen didn’t seem pleased to see her.

I have visions of 80+ years old Audrey careering round the Peaks with poor Teddy on his final journey, but unable to admire the view from his confinement in his roof box.

NotTooOld Fri 20-Jan-23 22:11:21

Ho ho, so Teddy's memory came back, Stephen killed him and now Audrey is driving to the Peaks with the body on the roof of her car! I wondered about the box not being lashed to the roof rack, vegansrock, but I believe I heard Kevin say it was 'lashed on'. We can only hope. Or not.

So daft Summer is, as predicted, going to Uni after all. Todd confessing to knocking out Mike seemed unnecessary to the plot. I must have missed something. And where is Esther?

Daisy is addicted to her 'socials' and now Daniel has found out about the DJ - Jason or Keith? I think he'll realise soon that Daisy is not really on his wave length and she'll be ditched.

Rosina Fri 20-Jan-23 22:22:07

You can't 'lash' a roof box on as far as I know - you have to open it and screw the base of the box to special runners, which are in turn attached to the roof bars for the occasion. How thoughtful of Audrey to have those runners in place, but Stephen had seemingly 'lost the key' so he couldn't have got it open to attach it properly, and certainly couldn't have done that if it were full of sewing machines. Anyone else might have put the box on and then filled it with such heavy equipment, yet nobody asked him why he hadn't.
