Yes, we all know it’s rubbish, but Corrie is an institution.

We need to have an active thread at all times.

I wonder if Teddy is dead or if Audrey will hear him knocking to get out. Stephen’s performance this evening had an air of Basil Fawlty about it 😆

Basil Fawlty - yes it did! I wonder if the scenes were meant to be funny or not? Corrie certainly lacks the humour that it used to have years ago.

Steven’s acting is dreadful. I’d love to see the script to see if it says ‘I, I, I know what you mean, but you, you, you don’t understand me’. It’s not like he has a stutter - he’s meant to be showing hesitation, but he’s hopeless. It’s like watching a school drama class (the B stream grin

I can't understand why Audrey needs the box on the roof anyway. Does she do 'homers' with her hairdressing business and put her hairdryer and curlers in it when visiting clients.

Calendargirl Sat 21-Jan-23 07:40:57

Why do all these poor women fancy Stephen anyway?

To me, he is not remotely attractive, always in the pub, no money, living with his mother, has to borrow a car, …..

Galaxy Sat 21-Jan-23 08:15:36

To be fair their choices are quite limited, they are all always in the pub and none of them are allowed a job that isnt within walking distance.

Beechnut Sat 21-Jan-23 08:24:30

I thought I was watching a Carry On film last night 🤣

Beechnut Sat 21-Jan-23 08:26:55

So on that note I think Audrey will break suddenly, the roof box will slide off, pop open and Teddy will rise to a sitting position.

Calendargirl Sat 21-Jan-23 08:46:35

Did anyone else think it odd that the massive blow with the hole cutter, enough to kill Teddy, didn’t draw blood?

If Stephen had been faced with a pool of blood to clear up, as well as moving another body…..

Beechnut Sat 21-Jan-23 09:07:21

I’m with you on that Calendargirl.
Extra fingers prints now on the weapon.

BlueBelle Sat 21-Jan-23 09:25:30

I did wonder where all the blood was very very unrealistic even for Corrie
It really is getting to be an unfunny comedy

I thought when Leo died that hapless Michael would be framed for murder as he was on the scene and unwittingly helped Stephen to push the wheelie bin containing the body. Now he’s walked off with a murder weapon in his hand. He seems to have a knack for arriving on a murder scene. A bit like Angela Lansbury !

Another Corrie mystery..where is Michael coming up with the wads of cash to hand over to Gemma for child minding?

Kate1949 Sat 21-Jan-23 10:08:27

I love Corrie but the Stephen thing is SO ridiculous. I agree that Michael will be in the frame. How predictable.

glammanana Sat 21-Jan-23 10:26:53

Why has Teddy not gone to The Police and asked them to trace Leo in Canada ? see if he arrived safely etc ? its not rocket science surely.
Has Leo been buried on The Red Wreck by Stephen will his body be found by the local boys football team ??

karmalady Sat 21-Jan-23 11:13:00

I have gone back to watching corrie, it is mindless so I can knit and watch and am glad that episodes are longer than they used to be. It is entertainment, nothing more but I am glad to be back on board

Calendargirl Sat 21-Jan-23 11:53:39

Poor Glory, wandering around in Gemma’s chaotic living room with a dummy in her mouth. Hope they gave her some dinner. The Baileys always used to be falling over themselves to look after her, no one seems too fussed now. It’s as if she’s been forgotten about.

And all the child minding money is to be spent on another daft wedding.

Has Audrey gone to the Lake district with two dead bodies in the roofbox? grin it's comical

JaneJudge Sat 21-Jan-23 12:01:09

also, who is next? Elaine?

Keep thinking of that scene in ‘National Lampoon’s Summer Vacation’ I think it was, when Chevy Chase somehow ended up giving a lift to some elderly relative who died on the journey, and they strapped her, sitting upright, on the top of the car.

Can’t remember the ins and outs of why, but it made us laugh at the time!

JaneJudge Sat 21-Jan-23 15:47:36

I LOVE the national lampoons films - my kind of humour smile

Does Gemma know about the hoops she will need to jump through in order to register as a childminder. Cannot see how she can get that registration as there is a limit as to how many children she can have, and her own four is probably over that number.

Suppose being Coronation Street, it will not apply to her.

Clawdy Sun 22-Jan-23 17:06:37

Yes, there is no way Gemma would get registration as a child-minder.

Alioop Sun 22-Jan-23 17:27:52

Sure Craigy will end up at her door to march her off to the station because it's against the law.

Aveline Sun 22-Jan-23 19:52:30

Dr Gaddas would speak up for Gemma and that awful deaf woman would turn out to be a social worker/health visitor who would inspect her and give her a certificate straightaway.

Doodledog Sun 22-Jan-23 22:17:53

It's nice to see the quads now and again, though. I wonder how many of them will have the same heads in 5 years time?

I really hope Steven gets caught tomorrow. The whole things gets more ridiculous by the minute. Gail is cursed, isn't she? Brian got stabbed, Martin had affairs, Richard Hillman was a serial killer, Joe(?) the one played by Reece Dinsdale was a crook who came to a bad end, Les Dennis was a burglar, and now her brother is a murderer too. How much can one woman take?
