Yes, we all know it’s rubbish, but Corrie is an institution.

We need to have an active thread at all times.

Seriously- would you leave your baby with someone who has 5 children of her own plus at least one other charge in a tiny house with no garden?

She may have experience of mass childcare but there is no danger of individual attention for any of them and the odds on an accident are high. Is there even a stair gate on the stairs in the sitting room? They won’t all be able to sit down on a chair of any kind, never mind at a table to eat or draw, and there is nowhere for them to run off energy. Inspectors or no inspectors it is very far from ideal.

I agree about Gemma. They are making her a parody of herself. Her mouth permanently hanging open after she says anything, her gobby manner, her and Daisy both going on about their ‘dream’ weddings, when neither of them have any money for anything.

Surely Daniel and Daisy should be getting a place of their own instead of trying to have a big freebie wedding?

And now her dreadful mother seems to have practically moved in to Ken’s also?

confused

Grannynannywanny Tue 31-Jan-23 09:14:08

Have I imagined this or did Daniel’s mother not die a few years ago and he inherited her house but declined to live there? What happened to the house??

Doodledog Tue 31-Jan-23 11:32:28

Oh yes. I'd forgotten about that.

Didn't Daisy first get with Daniel in the hope of stealing the house? I don't know what happened to it.

Alioop Tue 31-Jan-23 11:56:32

I think she was dating Ryan and then heard Daniel got the house so she set her sights on him. Maybe I'm wrong, but did he not rent out the big house and wouldn't kick his tenants out for Daisy and that's why they ended up with The Barlow's after the mix up with the flat when Paul let their room to DeeDee?

Aveline Tue 31-Jan-23 12:08:25

Alioop that's right.

Doodledog Tue 31-Jan-23 13:12:32

So why are they so hard up now?

Grannynannywanny Tue 31-Jan-23 15:01:50

Thank you. That’s refreshed my memory. It’s also reminded me why I dislike Daisy!

Aveline Tue 31-Jan-23 15:07:26

I know. Daniel's got a good job. Daisy has a job too and, presumably, Daniel's house is rented out so they have the income from that.

Franbern Tue 31-Jan-23 15:39:07

Daniel did (some) teacher training, so he should know how important insurance, training, space, safety actually is. Being able to BSL is not a good substitute for good paediatric first aid qualification. Yes, I agree the story is moving towards some sort of accident (hopefully not too horrible), which will expose unregistered childminders.

Corrie have just hit it luckyj (in a manner of speaking) that the Max story reached the point of him being charged with terrorism at the same time as a real-life case with a young teenager -( involving his making videos to inspire others to kill), has hit the headlines. Wonder how 'laid back' Max will continue to be when he is in a Young Offenders institute. He was not able to stand up to the billies in the behavorial school he was sent to.

Aveline Tue 31-Jan-23 17:09:44

Poor David's blood pressure must be about off the clock!

BlueBelle Tue 31-Jan-23 17:15:05

I love the thought of Max standing up to Billies Franbern 😃

What has happened to David’s hair it’s developed a life of it’s own

Doodledog Tue 31-Jan-23 18:28:23

David and Gary both have improbable hairstyles just now.

Dottydots Tue 31-Jan-23 18:56:09

Yes, David's hair looks awful and he's supposed to be a hairdresser. Wish I could get my clippers on him.

pinkprincess Tue 31-Jan-23 20:35:10

I never could abide watching Gemma. She is the reason I gave up watching Corrie after many years, she was IMO the start o it's ruination.I just look on here from time time out of curiosity
but it seems I am not missing much.
If you are reading this writers, get rid of her and improve all the unbelievable storylines

Kate1949 Tue 31-Jan-23 20:52:55

The actor who plays David had a hair transplant a while back.

Kate1949

The actor who plays David had a hair transplant a while back.

Did it go wrong somehow?

Put on back to front?

Whatever, David always seems to be fiddling with it.

Aveline Wed 01-Feb-23 13:30:58

Calendargirl you're right. I think he should get his money back. Maybe Gail and Audrey donated some of their luxuriant locks?

Kate1949 Wed 01-Feb-23 17:10:17

I think his hair is great. He's probably always fiddling with it as he's pleased to have it.

Calendargirl Wed 01-Feb-23 18:05:42

Kate1949

I think his hair is great. He's probably always fiddling with it as he's pleased to have it.

True. (The latter certainly).

After reading this, I looked up the info about his hair transplant. Seems he was very depressed about his hair loss, and has been quite open about what he’s had done.

I had never read about it before.

Adam’s hair also seems to go through a few changes as well.

Kate1949 Wed 01-Feb-23 18:09:16

Yes Calendargirl. Hair loss can make a person depressed and suicidal as I know anyway too well. Anyway back to Coronation Street....

ParlorGames Wed 01-Feb-23 20:38:18

On the topic of David Platts hair...........I think he has dog David nestled on his head for safe keeping.......well, it would explain his dreadful hairstyle.

greenmossgiel Wed 01-Feb-23 22:57:44

I have to look away when Gemma is eating! Mouth full of food and yapping away.

Aveline Thu 02-Feb-23 08:54:31

Awwww. I like Gemma. She's so full on daft. Her stylist deserves a medal for the sheer awful dreadfulness of her dress sense.

NotTooOld Thu 02-Feb-23 11:15:20

Ive just written the Corrie episode where Daisy and Daniel marry on the same day as Gemma and Chesney. There is a big mix up and Gemma ends up in Daisy's wedding dress so Daisy has to wear Gemma's outfit, probably diamante shorts and a halter top. grin
