Yes, we all know it’s rubbish, but Corrie is an institution.

We need to have an active thread at all times.

Has Beth lost weight ? I haven’t noticed any different, Eileen yes she looks really good but I hadn’t noticed Beth had
I think she looks awful most of the time with the hair and the clothes as does Gemma
Steven s got his next supply of LSD watch out Carla will this ever stop PLEASE get rid of Steven asap I can’t stand much more but I guess we ve got to go through the house thing with what’s her face yet oh dear looks like a way to go

Calendargirl Tue 14-Mar-23 08:29:01

It’s the dragging on of the storylines that makes it boring.

Max and the terrorists.

Stephen and his murders and his LSD use.

The stalking.

These are just a few, but they go on ad infinitum, then they just sort of fizzle out.

Have we seen the last of Lawrence the dentist? That finished like a deflated balloon.

Grannynannywanny Tue 14-Mar-23 10:08:38

I found Fiz and Tyrone’s behaviour a little odd cooing over Hope and Sam and encouraging them to view their friendship as a romance. Poor Sam. As my Mum used to say “it’ll all end in tears”

There’s no end to Hope’s conniving behaviour and she really does have dopey Tyrone under her control.

Doodledog Tue 14-Mar-23 12:12:04

I can't begin to know how I would have dealt with a child like Hope, but I don't think that Fiz and Tyrone are doing anything to help by indulging her behaviour as they do. She gets away with murder, and may well do so literally one of these days if someone doesn't step in and sort things out.

maddyone Tue 14-Mar-23 14:37:56

It’s the dragging on of the storylines that makes it boring.

Absolutely.

Calendargirl Tue 14-Mar-23 14:56:13

How old are Hope and Sam meant to be? About 12?

Tyrone wanting to take a photo, Sam trussed up in his suit, taking Hope chocolates….. all a bit OTT.

The Hope/Sam scenes are like an oasis in the desert of dire scripts normally, but this was all wrong somehow, making their friendship into ‘date night’, and Fizz and Tyrone acting like two silly schoolmates, egging them on.

NotTooOld Tue 14-Mar-23 18:18:38

I think Sam and Hope are meant to be 12 although she is a lot taller than him. Ridiculous story line, the date night. Don't you think the new little girl is very like Hope in looks? Actually, all the kids are starting to look the same.

I agree about the dragged out storylines. It makes it very boring. I would like Ryan to find a nice girlfriend. He seemed to be getting friendly with Daisy at the bar recently. Perhaps she will leave Daniel at the altar and go off with the lovely Ryan.

By the way, knowing Daniel is gay, I find it difficult to see him as a sincere bridgroom to Daisy, despite his good acting. Is it just me? (Wonder if GN will delete that bit?)

BlueBelle Tue 14-Mar-23 18:26:25

I didn’t know Daniel was gay but perhaps not knowing is best No I think Daisy and Daniel are right for each other I thought Ryan was going to get back with Alia
I ll soon have to switch off if Steven starts his lsd drops again
I too thought the Hope /Sam story was ridiculous

Calendargirl Tue 14-Mar-23 19:44:50

Oh, I think Daniel plays a straight guy very well, you wouldn’t guess he was gay.

Weren’t he and vicar Billy an item in real life some time ago? Not any more though, I think.

Clawdy Wed 15-Mar-23 07:49:28

Yes, the Hope and Sam story is ridiculous.

Franbern Wed 15-Mar-23 09:13:23

In the early years of Secondary School it is normal for girls to be taller than the boys. Most girls by that time are approaching their full adult height, whereas the lads are still very mich in child mode. Around 14 when the girls stop growing upowards, the bous start and can continue for the next four years, they also start to fill out into adult shape then.

Such a pity if a soap is encouraging a nice friendship between youngsters of that age to have sexual overtones. Just good friendships, please, no 'dates'.

lemsip Wed 15-Mar-23 20:57:41

is stephen's game nearly up

Grannynannywanny Wed 15-Mar-23 21:19:05

That was a big leap for the odious Rufus to immediately assume Stephen was spiking Carla’s drink with the LSD when he saw them helping her home.

Doodledog Wed 15-Mar-23 22:02:40

Grannynannywanny

That was a big leap for the odious Rufus to immediately assume Stephen was spiking Carla’s drink with the LSD when he saw them helping her home.

That's what I was thinking grin. Maybe pantomime villains all think in similar ways.

Grannynannywanny Wed 15-Mar-23 22:22:57

It’s turning into a pantomime Doodledog. I think Rufus will need to watch his back in the coming days. We all might need to help him out and yell “He’s behind you!

Doodledog Wed 15-Mar-23 23:59:51

grin

Calendargirl Thu 16-Mar-23 07:17:14

If I were Carla and Peter, the last person I would want ‘helping me home’ would be Stephen, then hanging about whilst having another ‘episode’.

Where was Nurse Aggie when you needed her? Why didn’t Michael phone his mum to come and assist?

I bet she would have known the signs of LSD abuse instantly.

Or I’m sure Doctor Gaddas would have abandoned her medical leaflet distribution, left her one woman surgery and done an instant home/factory visit.

BlueBelle Thu 16-Mar-23 07:24:58

So a new murder Rufus watch your back or will Stephen be a goner…. oh please not sure how much more I can tolerate
I don’t rate the Hope/Sam story at all totally unnecessary I also don’t see a likeness between any of three girls acting at the moment
I think the Tim/Faye story is quite believable and understandable

sodapop Thu 16-Mar-23 12:42:20

I understand Tim wanting to get to know his granddaughter but I think he is being quite unfair to Faye. She made her decision some time ago and has never wanted to change things, given her medical issues with early menopause this must be very difficult for her.

Doodledog Thu 16-Mar-23 13:26:44

I agree, sodapop. Tim is making it all about him, because of his guilt at not being around in Faye's childhood, and forgetting that it is Faye's choice to make, not his. It must be difficult for her, as she won't have more children, but she's not daft, and can work that out for herself.

Over in Albert Square there is another long-lost parent expecting to be welcomed with open arms. The soaps often have similar stories going on at the same time.

CoolCoco Thu 16-Mar-23 17:22:17

Why hasn't Dr Gaddas ordered any blood tests for Carla? Surely that should be the first thing she should do, not dish out tranquillisers, especially given Carla's medical history.

Charleygirl5 Thu 16-Mar-23 18:41:22

I agree CoolCoco or taking Carla to A&E when her drink has been spiked. It would be very easy to test for drugs.

Surely somebody is going to catch him in the act soon? I cannot stand the sight of him.

Doodledog Thu 16-Mar-23 19:48:03

I hope he gets caught, and doesn't get away with it by accidentally taking some himself and jumping off a tall building or something. I want to see him pay the price - the loathsome snake.

Clawdy Mon 20-Mar-23 19:35:10

I saw a spoiler in a newspaper today revealing an upcoming storyline which is so horrible I'm not sure I can continue watching. Something very wrong with these writers.

Calendargirl Mon 20-Mar-23 20:46:05

Poor Amy, what a ghastly bridesmaid’s dress.
