Yes, we all know it’s rubbish, but Corrie is an institution.

We need to have an active thread at all times.

Can’t remember all the details of the new set, think it was more shops. A charity/community shop, a Poundland, a deli or bakery I seem to recall, and others.

Think it also said that Roy and Evelyn would help out in the community shop.

I can’t believe the amount of murder that street has and everyone has been partners with everyone else. New script writers needed.

Doodledog Fri 02-Dec-22 21:41:23

That's interesting, thanks.

I suppose all those new areas will mean new storylines, so that has to be a good thing.

It is amazing that no one is unemployed for long in Coronation Street. There is always instant work available. You can be a complete new comer and the net day be a sewing machinist, bar worker, shop or cafe assistant a car mechanic or a hairdresser The fact you have never done any these jobs before does not matter, you are just told that you will soon learn and can start today. There is always a spare solicitor needed as well.
And all of these jobs right on your doorstep, no need to travel to work.
It must be the perfect place to live.

Summer's deception of the odd couple is really cruel. All to help a horrible abusive man.

Aveline Sun 04-Dec-22 09:27:32

It is most unlikely Clawdy. A silly story.

I foresee Alina and mini Ty stepping on the plane…..

That was my immediate thought as soon as the wedding planning started 😂

Calendargirl Thu 08-Dec-22 07:19:16

Oh, forget the ‘big party’ Tyrone. Just nip off and get married.

Hope and Ruby can wear the bridesmaids dresses from the Fizz/Phill non-wedding to save a bit of cash.

Must still be paying off the bulk purchase of the John Stape books.

Let’s hope Stephen adds Elaine to his murder list…

It’s a Christmas Day wedding. Oh no, what could possibly go wrong?

vegansrock Fri 09-Dec-22 07:09:42

Apologies for above spoiler - I’m ahead of schedule.

My thoughts exactly CG doesn't take much imagination to work that one out does it ?
I was very surprised to see 2 of the quads in last nights episode

Grannynannywanny Fri 09-Dec-22 09:16:07

Did anyone else find themselves talking to the tv telling dopey Elaine to wise up when she was lovingly gazing at Stephen? 😆

Doodledog Fri 09-Dec-22 11:01:07

Did Elaine used to be a Liver Bird?

I am bored with Stephen now. It wouldn't be so bad if he could act, and I would forgive him for longer if he were easier on the eye, but this plot is awful.

Get rid of Stephen and Summer, bring back Evelyn (she will come back for Tyrone's wedding, presumably), let Spider vanquish the racists and persuade Toyah to forgive his shabby behaviour, and please don't develop the love triangle (or is it a quadrilateral?) with Ken and his unlikely bunch of admirers! We just need Rula Lenska to come back to complete the idiocy there.

Grannynannywanny Fri 09-Dec-22 11:15:24

Yes Doodledog she was in the Liver Birds. She was also in another sit com in the 70’s. I think Man About the House. She was in Emmerdale a few years ago. I can’t remember what part. Possibly Laurel’s mother. She dipped in and out of it for a couple of years then popped up in Corrie.

Doodledog Fri 09-Dec-22 11:22:47

Thanks smile

I knew I recognised her from something - she has a distinctive face - but I couldn't put my finger on it.

Grannynannywanny Fri 09-Dec-22 11:33:17

I’ve googled and found a photo of her from the 70’s

I’m confused now! I watched an episode last week where Alya confessed that she had elbowed Griff and his injuries. Last night, it showed when it happened. Also I’m sure Tyrone proposed to Fiz but then again, that happened last night!

With all the disruption to the programme because of the World Cup, have the episodes been shown in the wrong order or is it just me, I’m still not well and easily confused?

Doodledog Fri 09-Dec-22 15:47:54

That's interesting, Dollymixtures. I had a feeling of deja vu when Griff smeared the blood on his face, but I assumed I had already watched it on catchup, as they put all the episodes on there earlier in the week. I watch tv in bed before going to sleep, and sometimes nod off, so my recollections of what I've seen aren't always reliable grin.

Could you have done similar?

Doodledog Fri 09-Dec-22 15:48:26

Thanks, GNW. 'Elaine' hasn't changed a lot, really.

Calendargirl Fri 09-Dec-22 16:06:50

Think ‘Elaine’ might also have been in ‘The Likely Lads’ when Bob married Thelma. Seem to think she was Thelma’s sister, but might have remembered wrongly and haven’t looked it up!

Kate1949 Fri 09-Dec-22 16:09:30

I loved Man About the House with gorgeous Richard O'Sullivan. Don't remember her in The Liver Birds but I loved The Lovers with Paula and Richard Beckinsale aka Jeffrey Bubbles Bonbon. Sorry back to Corrie...
