The silly thing is that lots of us really wanted it to work. I think lots of us saw her as a breath of fresh air and, had she played it cool, she could have been an asset to the RF and helped them to modernise.
I'm not going to watch but am anticipating at least 2 daughters will so I should get regular flash briefings.
I'm not a royalist but this is how I felt - they both mishandled the situation and should have played a long-term cool hand. MM & Harry could have been an asset in connecting with minority and marginalised communities, and the Commonwealth.
Problem is Harry is not very bright and brought up in extreme privilege, and Meghan although bright and educated isn't British and just didn't quite 'get it'.
No doubt the press treated her badly and there was certainly a racist element to much of the coverage, but Diana, Fergie, Camilla, and to a lesser degree Kate all suffered at the hand of the tabloids - doesn't make it OK but puts it in perspective.
I don't have Netflix so won't watch, but then I didn't even watch the Oprah interview - I've seen snippets and found them cringeworthy to be honest.
If I were their PR adviser I'd recommend a period of quiet for all their sakes.
The media is in a frenzy today!
