So have switched onto Netflix - wanted to see for myself what the 'fuss' is all about as many diverse opinions on this couple on here and other social platforms ...as well as the media with 'experts' who state this and that etc etc...

CoolCoco Sat 10-Dec-22 15:20:56

For people who claim they never watch or read anything about H and M, many sit in judgement and interpret their feelings and motivations negatively, based on popular press and sheer gossip. So many armchair psychologists...!

eazybee Sat 10-Dec-22 15:07:42

Oh dear Crazygranny. Of course the press is desperate to sell newspapers, and fewer and fewer people are reading them. Do you really think people only believe newspaper headlines? That they are incapable of listening, watching and evaluating behaviour for themselves?

All the principals you mention, Charles , Diana (who was not universally loved) Harry and Meghan have spoken publicly in various ways about their perceived misfortunes, and usually with disastrous results.

Susie42 Sat 10-Dec-22 15:04:52

I was not a fan of Diana but I think that she would be heartbroken by the situation between her sons.

volver Sat 10-Dec-22 14:27:24

Quick question.

If Harry was so upset at the "mocking curtesy" and thought it disrespected his grandmother, which was most likely?

a) he has been brainwashed by Meghan and is frightened to contradict her, so he let it go out on an international streaming service for all the world to see.

b) it wasn't a disrespectful curtsey by any means and that the people who think it was haven't really understood what was going on, or have only seen the carefully chosen clip that the DM wants them to see, with context edited out?

I know as I typed that there are some people metaphorically jumping up and down and shouting (a), (a), obviously (a).

polly123 Sat 10-Dec-22 14:21:26

What a horrible pair. The mocking curtsey says it all including his failure to defend his grandmother with whom he claims to have had a special relationship. Such hypocrisy and fake behaviour. Dire.

Galaxy Sat 10-Dec-22 14:14:24

I agree about the distinction or lack of it between Susan Hussey and Harry, either racism is wrong or it isnt. It is not dependent on who carried it out.

TiggyW Sat 10-Dec-22 14:12:36

I wonder what Diana would have made of it all. I’m sure she’d just want Harry to be happy. He’s the same age as our son. What different lives they’ve led! It’s not always easy being a mother-in-law!

Agree volver.

Kryptonite

Boz Harry was very regretful about dressing up as a Nazi. Said it was the stupidest things he's ever done.

So calling was calling on of his fellow soldiers a p**i , perhaps he’d rather forget that one
Could be accused of being a racist.

Nannashirlz Sat 10-Dec-22 13:52:34

Why if it’s already being proven to be full of lies and she taking the mick out of our queen. Yeah woe is me in my 13 bedroom house how I must be struggling 🤣 they are both a joke and one day he will wake up and smell the coffee and think what have I done. No I’m not watching it I’d rather watch paint dry

CoolCoco Sat 10-Dec-22 13:50:44

People love have a bitch about people they don't know. Lots of evidence on here.

Sparklefizz Sat 10-Dec-22 13:46:21

I noticed when the viewing figures were published today that episode 1 got high figures - 2.4m, then down to 1.5m viewers for episode 2, then only 800,000 for episode 3. People were quickly getting bored.

Probably Lady Susan Hussey is regretful and thinking how stupid she was too.

What Harry did was worse.

Perhaps we should forgive them both.l

Rowyn

It's blatantly obvious - he's just a puppet on HER string!

Careful! I’m sure someone will come along to tell you that’s racist. You just aren’t aware it is.

HannahLoisLuke Sat 10-Dec-22 13:39:04

I shan’t watch it. I’m already bored stiff with all the media coverage about it.

bradshaj Sat 10-Dec-22 13:34:18

If I spoke to them I would say ‘bore off’ and live your lives without courting the press. Most families have ‘issues’ at some point. I’m not going to waste my time watching it. Can’t believe so many millions have watched it already. Harry I have some sympathy for but Meghan went in with her eyes wide open.

Spiritual Sat 10-Dec-22 13:33:27

Totally agree. She did the performance of a lifetime on her wedding day. What bride could possibly be that overjoyed when her father had been banned, there were no family nor friends of hers there and her mum was shoved 4 rows up in the corner and her in-laws took all the front seats? If it were me I would have been devastated. That told me enough.

GrammaH Sat 10-Dec-22 13:23:03

Fortunately we do not have Netflix so I don't have to face the dilemma of whether to watch or not!

crazygranny Sat 10-Dec-22 13:21:15

This is yet another result of an out-of-control UK press desperate to sell papers. They had a field day with the Diana and Charles saga, carefully ensuring that the story was kept keenly adversarial - nothing like dividing people and stirring up their emotions to sell well. That's all these same ugly people have been doing with Harry (even during his vulnerable teens) and Meghan. They print whatever they can wheedle from family, friends, and remote acquaintances. Failing to be given information they print whatever might sell well - the headlines that suggest who is 'good' or 'bad' in the royal family. I can quite understand the couple's desire to set the record straight but, sadly, I think all they will do is perpetuate their time in the crosshairs.

Theoddbird Sat 10-Dec-22 13:17:14

Another post just pulling people apart. I suggest that you just don't watch it. People are just watching it so that they can pull it apart....

The difference between Diana and Megan is that Diana was loved by the nation whereas Megan didn't stay long enough to be loved by anyone , except Harry! Remember when Megan is seen with her head in her hands sobbing, there is a camera crew there filming. She's a former actress, right? She should have stuck to her day job . . . or perhaps that's exactly what's she doing!

eazybee Sat 10-Dec-22 13:09:01

I don't think people have believed life in the royal family is a fairy tale for a long time except very little girls and Meghan Markle who was surprised to discover it wasn't like 'The Princess Diaries.' I recall an article from Linda Lee Potter many years ago when all the adult children, Charles, Anne, Andrew and Edward, were experiencing marital, career and public relations difficulties. She said how refreshing to think royal families encountered exactly the same problems as every other family and wealth and privilege made little difference, in fact sometimes exacerbated them.

Except that not many 'adult' children make documentaries to be shown world wide to air their grievances.

lovebeigecardigans1955 Sat 10-Dec-22 13:06:41

I'd hoped that this would work out but at the same time feared that an American divorcee would repeat history in that a choice would have to be made (me or them) so I'm not entirely surprised at the outcome.

They could have quietly taken a step back without all the hoo-ha, and dissing the RF all the time is spiteful and childish. No family is perfect.

Will they spend the rest of their lives moaning about their lot, boring the pants off the rest of us? It's already starting to wear thin. For how else can they earn a living so that they can continue to live in the manner to which they are accustomed? Farming, nursing, business? Not exciting enough I suppose.
