Just that really...such an interesting lively/hot threaded debate shock..smile

I agree Callistemon that that would have been a more palatable way of doing things, and I think the British people, and indeed the world, would have accepted their reasons, and that interest in them would have petered out.

So if we acknowledge that Harry & Meghan weren't coping and were deeply unhappy, what better solution could have been found to cause them less grief? What I am trying to discover is whether a mutually acceptable conclusion could have been arrived at without all the animosity and resentment we are now witnessing? What compromises could have been made?

imaround is that you Meghan?

People having a different view to you doesn’t make them a fool.

Where did imaround suggest those who disagree with her are fools?
Also- no I truly don’t believe Meghan is masquerading as I around on gransnet

A dignified exit.

Instead it has turned into an unedifying spectacle of innuendo and speculation.

I'm assuming that maybe H & M made too many demands to make a solution viable.
Like royal titles, properties, security, hard cash for an opulent lifestyle etc. etc.

Thanks Callistemon

I see this question asked a lot on MN as well. It is so strange to me. Literally something we would have asked in middle school.

Imagine, though, being so important as to think that every other person on the face of the planet has the same opinion as you so the only person that it could be posting in support is Meghan herself.

^Harry himself covered this is the documentary^

And you believe all he says because?

Well, interviews going back to his teens saying he was unhappy, long before Meghan.

So why wouldn't I believe him?

You are right. I apologize for using the word fool in my post.

imaround- apologies from me for skimming so missing your ‘fool’ post.

we all saw Harry miserable lonely and turning to substances like many other miserable lonely boys. He’s always talked about his mothers treatment by the press, his feelings about that walk behind her coffin. It’s the age old Adam n Eve story, led astray by a conniving woman. Age old nonsense

she must have been gutted when he couldn''t wear those impressive military uniforms any more.

But her acting is very one trip poney though merlotgran.

Oh;my gosh, they've pinched my very words about Meghan a few days ago here!

Do you know what, I've always called it a one trip pony and just discovered it is actually one trick! Silly, silly me!

I and DH have now watched all six episodes.

As I see it the blame should be laid at the door of The Daily Mail along with all the so called journalists who collectively decided that they required a pantomime villain(s) amongst Queen Elizabeth II’s grandchildren.

Prince Harry it appears has not coped with the loss of his mother as well as Prince William, we all grieve differently, they had their grief documented by the worlds media. Harry did have his wild moments, and boy was the press eager to publish all the gory details of a troubled boy trying to make sense of his life and fit into a the life that was mapped out for him.

I saw a modern couple, very much in love who were frustrated by The Firm’s attitude of never explain , which along with the turn of attitude by the gutter press pitted the two brothers against each other.

I truly hope that Prince Harry has found his Princess and they live happily ever after, an added bonus would be for the family to heal the rifts in the fullness of time.

I have always been a royalist, I hope that the King and his heir slim down The Firm to something more fitting for the 21st C. I would be extremely uncomfortable with the possibility of this scenario being repeated with the next generation of young royals.

Oops. You'd just discovered that. Sorry.

Your words very much sum up the feelings of those who watched the series as it rolled GG, and of those who picked up snippets from the press.
I think the saddest bit you mention is the rift between Harry and William (as alluded to several times). The trouble for me is that Harry made such nasty references to his brother in public that the fullness of time might not help here.
