There are so many. I particularly cringe at the one for Our Time dating for over 50s. I just want to punch the two simpering actors! Grrrrrr
Also, car adverts like Peugeot who think they’ll sell cars by speaking in a silly French accent.
I must be getting old!

There are too many to count, but the one I REALLY hate is that Ionos ad with the small German sounding woman with the high pointy hairdo and big glasses. Detest it with a passion,

The one advertising pads for women who continually wet themselves

I feel they're normalising female incontinence when really we should be seeking treatment for it.

Gabrielle56 Sat 18-Feb-23 12:06:47

I think those cute meerkats are just the best ! They've been trotting around for decades now, OTT scenarios...nothing to do with the product whatever that is?! ...on second thoughts, yep, get rid I'd be so embarrassed to admit I worked for the agency peddling that tripe still!

The ones which is most of them with mixed race families.

Really? Why? Do tell

Hetty58 Sat 18-Feb-23 12:07:59

I avoid them all whenever possible - and particularly dislike so many ones aimed at older folk, normalising disability and incontinence in the over fifties. My pet hate, though, as a vegan, is the little girl promoting meat and dairy. How much have tax payers spent on that?

Gabrielle56 Sat 18-Feb-23 12:11:31

All the yukky wokery getting plastered all over is just the pits! Tampons, wet wipes smeared with yuk, wee🤮 love honey (!?) It's as if the 30/40 something and types have just discovered bodily functions and have to shout about them like a dopey adolescent! Oh and of course they've discovered to hat sex can be fun too, cos were all so bad at it that the world nearly died out when we were young.........

Thought I’d be controversial, but it’s true there are so many adverts with mixed race families and it’s nearly all a white woman with a black man. It is not representative of our country as a whole. You’d think we were living in Nigeria. We all have to be brainwashed. I particularly dislike the ones with black people doing silly dances - I think it is mocking.

grandMattie,
I record all programmes with adverts, then fast foreward too ! Can't stand them

ruthiek Sat 18-Feb-23 12:17:38

Lemsip totally agree

Like others, it’s On The Beach for me. It’s almost promoting an obese family, that boy gloating as his sister drops her ice cream, when he looks like he’s had several ice creams too many already …. Then in the new ad he is stuffing his plate full of free food at the airport. I’d never “fat shame” anyone, I need to lose a few pounds myself 🥴 but it makes me feel uncomfortable watching it.

Nannipocci1 Sat 18-Feb-23 12:21:49

O maze ! Stupid women ! Adverts for Tena lady. See your gp first !! But advertisers have achieved their objectives. I remember these adverts !!!!

Cheryl1959 Sat 18-Feb-23 12:22:44

On the beach , what a dreadful family what was the company thinking of when putting this ad together.

Grantanow Sat 18-Feb-23 12:22:51

I rarely watch ITV so I miss all those ads that would make me cringe. I sometimes trawl through Freeview and most of the commercial channel ads in the afternoon are aimed at oldies - animals, life insurance, remortgaging house to get cash, etc. - are irritating especially as the time allocated to ad breaks is quite long. I find BBC and ch4 self-advertising a bit annoying - after all one can look in the what's on pages.

Doglessfornow Sat 18-Feb-23 12:28:39

That awful boy in the holiday ads, smirking when his “sister” drops her ice cream.
I also cringe at the pot noodle advertisement when an elderly woman is apparently carrying a donkey on her back, why?

jerseygirl Sat 18-Feb-23 12:28:41

I record and fast forward too.

suelld Sat 18-Feb-23 12:35:55

grandMattie

They all do, which is why I record most programmes and fast forward the ads!

Oh same here !
The odd ad is quite cute but….
I watch the news-on CNN a lot ( being fascinated, horrified and addicted to the chaos of U s politics) and the DHL Yellow/ Coldplay ad is repeated so often it drives me potty.
Agree about ‘Daisy, Daisy… ‘ too !

cakehunter Sat 18-Feb-23 12:40:21

I can’t stand adverts so I record and fast forward. We’re with BT so 2 recordings can be done at same time. Agree Daisy is probably the most irritating.

Eva3 Sat 18-Feb-23 12:41:11

Agree, agree with everyone!
Conversely, the Virgin Atlantic airline ad. is a gem. Not sure it would make me buy a ticket, but it is SO clever from every angle, and enjoyable to listen to/watch.

Totally agree with you,she is horrendous as is the whole advert…

Treetops05 Sat 18-Feb-23 12:46:05

Perfect, perfect, Daisy Daisy, and the really dreadful MacDonalds ad with the dum dum music and eyebrows. Apart from anything else the 2 girls who start it better hope they're at the front of the queue!

Supergran1946 Sat 18-Feb-23 12:47:34

I refuse to watch programs with adverts live. I record them then whizz through the adverts

Kenver60 Sat 18-Feb-23 12:47:40

The one with everybody raising their eyebrows up and down ..Mc Donald’s I think it is .

Spec1alk Sat 18-Feb-23 12:48:12

Bulky pee pads!!!!! Honestly the mind boggles!

Murphy52 Sat 18-Feb-23 12:49:14

Over 50s funeral / insurance plans, woman sitting on toilet for pads advert,
and Revitive circulation device, and loads more ...

Dowsabella Sat 18-Feb-23 12:53:27

Feeling smug! No TV licence so I don't have to sit through those awful annoying and embarrassing ads. We spend what we would have spent on a licence on dvds. Mind you, ads on the Internet can be just as bad (GN please take note!!)
