Is anyone still listening or have you given up?

Lilian?

I’m with merlotgran, Brian is covering for someone. Ruarie the obvious character but, does Brian fear it was Alice?

I’m relieved the sw have not redeemed the awful George

Einna Fri 13-Feb-26 15:55:10

Yes it does sound as if Brian is covering something up.

But what, or whom ?

This plot is dragging on and on.

Finding podcasts for The Archers has opened up so much about the programme. I especially enjoy the clips from earlier shows stirring memories and sometimes reminding me of years when I had so much going on irl that I was out of touch with life in Ambridge. It is also good to hear views from SWs, actors, and others involved in making the programme.

Yes, it makes sense that Brian came along after George was attacked, possibly after seeing and maybe speaking with the actual culprit. We shall just have to wait and see…

Ok. I feel better if that us the case.

Einna Fri 13-Feb-26 19:18:41

Merlotgran ….you were right !

merlotgran Fri 13-Feb-26 19:54:31

Pity Brian confessed. It would have sent George into a dither if half the men in Ambridge had been given the same aftershave for Christmas thanks to influencer Amber. 😂

I wonder what his next move will be?

Merlotgran ….you were right !

Merlotgran often is right about the Archers
I’ve listened to today’s episode lips sealed

Scribbles Fri 13-Feb-26 21:31:52

Well done, merlotgran.

Merlotgran ….you were right !

That’s what I came on here to say!

Well I wasn’t expecting it to be him/her… no spoilers from me 😁

Bit ironic really that B and R are incensed that George tried to allow someone else to carry the can for his crime and now they are merrily doing the same thing ...

Iam64 Sat 14-Feb-26 08:55:50

I’m sure B and R are well aware of the parallels.
I’m a bit disappointed with the story line. It’s too twee. Look the wealthy can be rotters as well. Rory (sp) is a complex. Less than likeable character. But we’ve seen no inkling of a personality who’d smash a bottle over someone’s head.
TA is good because it draws characters, personalities, it fails for me when characters change - like Shula divorcing Alistair 😉

Nice to hear the U3a getting a mention. Makes a change from the WI.

Go, Miranda. 👏👏

Oh, dear. Helen never learns does she? With a bit of luck, she'll be pregnant; Dane will be medically incapable of fathering a child and will dump her so she'll go waltzing happily off to Brigadoon or wherever this Finlay comes from and will never be heard from again.
Please, scriptwriters!

Iam64 Fri 27-Feb-26 20:10:25

No, helen needs and deserves a bit of fun. She’s had a tough time and survived

Scribbles Fri 27-Feb-26 22:44:19

But her "bits of fun" always seem to go horribly wrong - like when she got drunk and ran over Mike Tucker, then let her brother take the blame. Or the bit of fun with someone else's husband which evolved into the Rob-saga.
TBH, I've always disliked the character intensely and don't at all mind her having fun so long as I don't have to know about it. I guess it's a tribute to the strength of the writing and the acting that I do feel such dislike for a fictional character!

Helen certainly irritates some. I see her as an interesting character and wish her well
