Only another month to go so I thought we'd better get the new thread up and running smile

I don't know many of this year's contestants so far but I guess we'll get to know them as the show continues. I see there are already comments that some of them have previous dance training.

I often think the Judges' comments don't match the scores they give.

I can't vote for Layton, though, because of all the reasons given before.

I don’t get all the enormous praise for Angela Rippon, too much sitting on the bench for one thing.
Overmarked in my opinion.

Her swivels were good, I agree, but as Sara said, lots of sitting down, filling up time not doing fast Charleston.

Enjoyed Nigel and Katya's Cha Cha even though Shirley didn't.

As she pointed out Layton's mistakes and still gave him a 9, I'm waiting for a 9 for Nigel !!

I had a tear in my eye watching Angela Rippon, she was so light and swivelly and joyful to watch.

I was sorry about the seated bit because it emphasised that she couldn't have managed a whole Charlestown but well done her!!

What a fabulous night of dancing.
Costumes, makeup, everything terrific.

I've voted for Ellie, Angela S and Nigel.
I am thinking that Ellie could take the glitterball. As someone said last week, she can dance any dance she's given.
