Alan Watts' Cunard Advert is so beautiful. His voice is so beautiful. He was a Zen Buddist Writer, Speaker and Philosopher. He pronounces the english language so well. We get so used to hearing mispronounced words on tv. Never be too old to dream I wonder I wonder is a poem. He sought to sooth anxieties of people. Richard Burton did do an advert for Cunard. Alan Watts was born in 1915 and died in Mandala House in Druid Heights in 1973. Beautiful cultured voice. I love it. I wonder I wonder is a Poem.

I feel exactly the same! His voice really annoys me and the words mean nothing

It’s now Sep 2024 and must be cruise booking season as the cruise ad is on again. I am sure it is Richard Burton’s voice from a long-ago film or play but I can’t remember which.

I could not disagree more (apart from the facts relating to his birth and death)
He certainly does not soothe me.

the ad which talks of a cruise with ‘just 900-odd like-minded people’ says it all for me

900 people I cannot get away from is my idea of hell.
