I've just watched A Timeless Christmas on Channel 5 and really enjoyed it. Most of the movies in this genre are very predictable but this one had a better plot than many.

I m sick and tired of Christmas already and we haven’t had Halloween yet 😱

My favourite Christmas movie is "The Santa Clause," I could watch it any time of the year.

The Man Who Invented Christmas. It’s about Charles Dickens when he was writing A Christmas Carol.

I like Miracle on 42nd Street. The original one. And Die Hard

My favourite Christmas film is Scrooged, with Bill Murray. The comedy is good, but it has a real moralistic undertone, all comes good in the end.

The Muppets Christmas Carol - my DD’s know it by heart! Both dyslexic but they can remember dialogue no bother. Also Michael Caine reminds them very much of their Dad, my DH who died in ‘21.

I agree Georgesgran about The Muppets Christmas Carol .... we watch it every year. And I watch Love Actually too .... but that's to see Colin Firth as much as anything else!! grin

I am always happy to watch The Holiday with Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet. The American and English ladies swap homes for the holiday period.

The Muppets Christmas Carol is my favourite Christmas film by far. I own up to watching the cheesy Hallmark ones which are on but try to wait until Halloween is over.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 23-Oct-23 13:04:36

Oh I love Christmas, my film list is sooo long, but here are a few.

The Holiday
Scrooged
Love Actually
The Man who invented Christmas
A Boy called Christmas
The Santa Claus
Santa Claus the Movie
And so many more…

I will also admit to watching all the extremely corny Hallmark Christmas films on Channel 5 and the Sky Christmas Channels

It’s a Wonderful Life is the only one I’ve seen, as it was a tradition that we watched with my parents every year.

I watched a really nice film a few years ago, but forget its title, unfortunately (wish I could remember as I’d watch it again). It was set in a very snowy part of America (out in the country), and basically the story was that a little girl who had SEN found a rabbit. Her parents put out an ad for its return, but no one claimed it, so she befriended a rather curmudgeonly lady who taught her how to care properly for said rabbit, and the two of them gradually built up trust and friendship. Time passed and one day a family contacted them to say the rabbit was theirs and would come to collect it. This was in the run up to Christmas. The little girl was distraught and one night left the house with the rabbit, but by now a severe snow storm was forecast, so a search party was put together. It ended well, of course, with all concerned happy at the outcome. It was just such a gentle, feel good film though. I really wish I could remember it’s title.
