Nigel Farage on I'm a Celeb etc (sorry forgotten the name of the show)
I've never watched it before, and I dont know any of the other contestants, but could be fun.
No doubt he will be given the most gruesome challenges.🤣

Very well said, Annie1

There are contestants in the jungle every year who can’t participate in certain trials because of their health conditions, which prevent participation. ITV/doctors will make these decisions based on medical history which must be disclosed by the participants. It’s nothing new and certainly not peculiar to Nigel Farage.

If posters wish to boycott the show it’s up to them. I don’t suppose Farage will care a fig if Gransnetters boycott the show, or anyone else for that matter.

Each to their own. I’m watching.

No, never have watched it in the past ; when I knew who the 'celebrities' were. Never heard of any of this lot apart from Farage And I can't think of one reason why I should watch him cavorting about in the 'jungle'.

Nothing wrong with Nigel

hugshelp Tue 21-Nov-23 14:00:41

Not for me, thanks.

lilydily9 Tue 21-Nov-23 14:03:39

Nigel is coming across well. Yes, he was picked for the first trial, as expected, but not the second which surprised even him.

Juicylucy Tue 21-Nov-23 14:54:24

Watch it every year and love it. Something exciting to watch on the cold dark nights. I like Nigel Farage far worse figures to hate on than Nigel.

Mamardoit Tue 21-Nov-23 14:55:40

Hiker

Can’t stand him. What was ITV thinking?

Their viewing figures? I've never watched it, and don't intend to start. Hate is far to strong a word for someone who's politics you disagree with. If NF is laughing all the way to his new bank after his appearance, good luck to him.

I’m not a fan of Nigel Farage nor of I’m a Celebrity GMOOH and swore I wasn’t going to watch, however curiosity/temptation got the better of me.
So far I have disliked the screamy girl and then warmed to her after her brave dinner with Nigel. I have thought the young man from one of the reality shows a bit OTT but can’t dislike him. The young girl pleasant but nondescript.
Grace and Josie seem nice enough. They are all lucky to have Fred, top class chef.
I think that Nigel has conducted himself well as I would expect.
I’m hoping for some interesting conversations and a better understanding of all the contestants but especially Nigel Farage.
Judgement currently on hold.

My goodness the hyperbole on here, although I take many of the comments literally. I watch Celebrity Get Me Out of Here every series because I like to see how humans behave in such conditions and surroundings. I learn a lot about people. Nigel Farage might be not everyone’s cup of tea, but I am fascinated by the sheer nastiness of the far left members on GRANSNET. I would not enjoy their company although I rather like WWM.
For those lofty members here with closed minds, Farage has demonstrated common sense on the programme and carried out successfully two of the worst tasks so far without complaint. I must confess I know only a couple of the other contestants and they are Fred Serieux and Grace Dent. Why anyone would dislike Ms Dent is a mystery to me. I am sure avid Remainers are wishing bad things to happen to Nigel Farage., Their posts show just how mean minded the left can be. I could never wish for evil things to happen to any left wing politician. I guess I am not mean enough.

I'm an "avid Remainer" and no I'm not wishing bad things to happen to him.

And I also think the "world's most hated man" is offensive - even tho' I don't like him. A lot. And said so in an earlier post.

... and I'm not far left - or even left.

In fact, whilst we're on the subject, I don't hate or wish harm on any politician that I dislike because of what they stand for.

Hate is not the root of all evil - but it is the root of many evils.

I find it ridiculous that some posters assume all who voted remain are far left supporters. It’s the same as saying all Brexit supporters are far right.

Anyway, with regard to the programme and the question, no I won’t be watching it - I never have and don’t intend starting now. I’ve seen trailers for the programme over the years and they were more than enough for me.

I’m no fan of Mr Farage. Never have been and never will be.

Anniel Tue 21-Nov-23 15:06:51

Dickens I have never thought of you as far left. You are sensible in my eyes!

Amalegra Tue 21-Nov-23 15:10:29

I only watched this series once and that was quite enough for me! I don’t really like all these ‘reality’ shows with far too many ‘z’ list ‘celebrities’, many of whom I’ve never heard of and am not at all interested in. I must admit to not warming to Farage, although he does make some valid points at times.

Mamardoit Tue 21-Nov-23 15:11:17

I do wish there was an edit function on here. I do know the difference between who's and whose.

Chinesecrested Tue 21-Nov-23 15:11:21

Nothing wrong with Farage, just because you don't agree with his views. Lots of people do. And he won't be targeted for tasks because he's cool, calm and collected. He doesn't scream and cry so no fun to be had!

JRTW2 Tue 21-Nov-23 15:51:53

Only those that could damage the repaired spinal injury he sustained years ago. More relevant that the other hypochondriacs who seem to be exempt

Beautyandthebeast Tue 21-Nov-23 16:02:18

Presumptuous that you think everyone hates him?

And no I will not watch that smirky worm courting more publicity

I have to say well done for that description LauraNorderr, it’s spot on, conjures him up perfectly.

Hear hear! I used to watch it way back when, but got bored…I might tune in just to see what is going on but as others have noted this worm will be wriggling out of no doubt many of the tasks. IMO this shouldn’t be allowed, and someone who can avoid the required tasks shouldn’t be allowed on…but money and PR always wins…he makes me shudder!

Fred isn’t a top class chef. He specialises in front of house - maître d’hôtel.

And another well said for me.

I think Ant and Dec are real funny. I love their humour.

Unfortunately I can’t watch it due to the choice of not having a having a license, can’t stand the BBC, bunch of hypocrites!
Definitely hope Nigel wins! He speaks a lot of common sense.

ninamoore Tue 21-Nov-23 16:33:16

Health conditions? Fag breaks?

Beautyandthebeast Tue 21-Nov-23 16:53:01

Exactly this.

Well said, Anniel!
I happen to like Nigel Farage! I agree with his views - he speaks for lots of ordinary people. It seems that quite a few posters on here feel the same. He has been very calm and collected, very sensible, not screaming like certain other members of the group. Does anyone else have the feeling that there are more people yet to join the camp?
I enjoy I’m A Celeb just to see how the contestants relate to each other - same with Big Brother, it’s just a social experiment (I stopped watching that because of the swearing - unnecessary and annoying). It doesn’t really matter whether they’re well-known or not. I did prefer it when the location was Grwych Castle in Wales though.
There is enough hatred around at the moment; it’s possible to agree to disagree and leave it at that (which NF did yesterday with Fred S., who happens to be French, which probably explains his views about Brexit!).
