I actually thought that was an interesting discussion and I thought Fred 'won' quite easily but its possible Farage didnt want to debate or its also possible that he was unable to respond to the points Fred made, which is quite interesting in itself.
I dont agree with reintroducing smoking in pubs or relaxing gun control but I can cope with the fact that people hold different views to me. We need to be able to listen to people who hold different views to ourselves even when its difficult.

Yup, me too.

However (just to be serious for a moment) the very thought of going down the path of "relaxing gun control" - and I don't think he's the only one who believes this might be a good idea - makes me shudder. Considering all the mental health problems we have in this country, I think it would - ultimately - be disastrous. In spite of all the assurances like "proper licensing" being done "responsibly", they would eventually end up in the hands of the wrong people.

Anyway, someone I know - who doesn't like him in fact - got chatting to him in a pub (where else!) and said that he was in fact quite civilised and OK to talk to. But, they didn't discuss politics!

I won't be watching - not because of him - I never watch it. It makes me a bit, I dunno, feel like I'm rubbernecking a car crash. But, I don't like 'reality' tv shows anyway. Apparently, some of the contestants receive abusive, and even threatening, messages after appearing in the show, it's not quite harmless entertainment if it can evoke such extreme reactions.

But, as I said - we have a lot of problems with seemingly many people suffering from them now.

Oh I agree about gun control and if someone lit a fag next to me in a restaurant I would kick up a fuss (well tut loudly) but I am worried about our inability to platform views we find unpleasant, it's becoming a real problem.

I also totally agree about gun control, and as an asthma sufferer, about smoking inside public buildings. I understand that as a smoker, Nigel Farage (and other people) would prefer smoking to be allowed in pubs and restaurants, but thankfully that will not happen again, that ship has sailed, but I don’t understand why Farage would like gun controls relaxed. Strict gun controls have kept us safer than we would be otherwise.

To those who are whinging that NF will not be doing some of the challenges - this has always been the case in the jungle. Different people have health conditions or injuries which prevent them from taking part because it would be very dangerous.

Nella was totally over the top - I’m not a fan of that Fred, but he just said , something like ‘I could be your Father’ in reference to the age difference. What’s wrong with that!!

I liked Nella but she disappointed me tonight with her verbal attack on Fred. Mind you, Fred took his first available opportunity to have a go at Nigel Farage yesterday, so he’s not the nicest person either.

I said upthread but will say again, all the contestants have to be medically examined and all their medical history disclosed to a doctor who decides if a trial is unsuitable for them. Nigel Farage was clearly exempt from tomorrow’s task because of the broken back and other injuries sustained in the plane crash he was in. No one can be exempted from a trial just because they want to be.

Nella took offence where none was intended. I hope she'll get over it soon.

The problem with this show is they cram 24 hours into 45 minutes.

When Nella was shouting at Fred it did seem totally over the top and unnecessary. However, she did allude to him upsetting her earlier. Which we didn't see any evidence of. So we're not getting the full picture.

It's just a programme that is edited for the best viewing.

I think the programme has possibly had its day. Social media shreds people to pieces. And it's not always fair.

For Siope, Hurray! Of course Farrago isn't "the world's most hated", most of the planet hasn't heard of him, and in any case, a subset of the UK rather likes him, (includes some of GN it seems) as to them he speaks some common sense.

Maybe some people haven't heard of Putin or Trump, or that lunatic despot who can't find a decent haircut in N Korea?

Rather have Nigel than Fred any day, don't like or trust Fred. Nella a self obsessed screaming banshee. Dreadful. Won't be watching the eating trials which are just demeaning and vile by people who will stoop to anything to get money and publicity. Like listening to camp fire chats once they get hungry. All in all I am sick of these sort of programmes, it's the sane type of attention seekers on all of them.
