I recommend the multi award winning U.S sitcom Modern Family. My teenage granddaughter introduced me to it and we watch a few episodes together every weekend. I love it. Great characters and storylines and very funny. We watch on Disney+ but I think it’s also available on channel 4 catch up.

Just realised that link I sent is for the final episode. You don’t want to start there 😆

Thank you!
I promise I won't watch the end first! grin

Did anyone watch Outlanders ?
I’m tempted to go and hunt that series down as I loved the series of books when they were Crosstitch and on from there. I just never got around to it.

I couldn't watch Red Eye on the TV - I think it is because I need a more up-to-date TV. But I could watch it on my computer, which is not very relaxing.

At first I thought it was really exciting and interesting, but it got so ridiculous, with bodies all over the place, on a plane full of regular passengers, that I was sorry that I had wasted so much time, and discomfort, watching it. I can't even remember what the outcome was.

I also recommend Bodkin, I love this type of series, I devoured all 7 episodes.

I thoroughly enjoyed The White Lotus, a black comedy, set in a luxury resort hotel with a varied cast of characters. You don't have to have watched Season 1 to understand and enjoy Season 2, but there is one quite important thread through the two series.

Have finished Bodkin which we really enjoyed- and now enjoying The Blacklist. A bit far fetched but don't care.

Thanks everyone.
I now have a massive queue! smile

Just watched "Spiral of lies" a French murder story with a police lead.

I was trying to watch "Spiral" Witzend - worth watching but not great.
Will look for your suggestion again!
Thank you.

Have started watching The Good Doctor on Channel 4 catch up. A bit like ER (impossibly handsome doctors and attractive nurses) but am quite enjoying it. Stars Freddie Highmore, a British actor, playing an American Doctor with Autism and is a savant (like Dustin Hoffman in Rainman). Has a few scenes of surgery, so won't be to everyone's taste, but I have found it absorbing and funny at times.

State Of Play, UKTV, 2003 classic.

Outsider is brilliant.

Really love Blue Lights especially as it is local to me.
Recognising many locations. Some of it filmed very local.

Fear ye not. A new series of Virgin River has just been filmed over 4 months not far from where I live .

So grateful to everyone who has posted here.
Currently watching Blue Lights which is very good I think.

I have also enjoyed Black List which started great but I fear is a bit "all on one note" now I fear. I won't give up on it yet though as often these things change. 🤞

@CocoPops, where do you live? DH & I are planning to go round USA in an RV when we retire next year. I would love to see that beautiful scenery for myself.

Bridie22 Sat 08-Jun-24 10:29:00

Just finished " Lost boys and fairies on bbc1, you may need tissues...only 3 episodes.

Thirdinline Sat 08-Jun-24 10:30:09

Talking of beautiful scenery in USA, I enjoyed watching Yellowstone. Totally different in pretty much every way, I can also recommend Unforgotten.

Thirdinline Sat 08-Jun-24 10:31:11

There’s also Chesapeake Shores, though it should be called peak of cheesy shores as it is very twee.

The Outlaws- has a third series, but you have to start at the first series. Hilarious. Stephen Merchant and many others you will recognise.

blue14 Sat 08-Jun-24 11:46:21

So many good series have been mentioned.
I'll just add a few I am enjoying at the moment or have enjoyed in the past.

Brothers and Sisters.
It was on quite a few years ago but is starting a rerun from the first episode on the channel W. Starting tomorrow.

Resident Alien.
Although this is science fiction it's more of a comedy and has many laugh out loud moments.

Murdock Mysteries.
This has many series and is currently on Alibi.

Miss Scarlet and the Duke.
This is on catch up - UKTV

CocoPops Sat 08-Jun-24 17:28:44

Thirdinline "Virgin River" is filmed in various places around Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. If you Google filming locations you will find precise places.

Greyduster Sat 08-Jun-24 17:48:14

Cocopops glad to hear the new series of Virgin River is being filmed. The locations are certainly spectacular.
