The old one is getting full, so here’s a nice shiny new one.

Where is Lauren? What is Dee Dee’s chap up to? Is Kit a villainous baddie or a force for good? Do we care?

Post your predictions and observations here (no spoilers please).

So many inconsistencies but it is Corrie. I hope this storyline with Bethany will get to people that consider these dangerous operations. I find my granddaughters don't watch the soaps. They along with others watch and listen to these influencers and celebs whose teeth resemble horses and their weird full lips and its the new norm. It needs to be almost part of the school curriculum. They are ending up looking like dolls. Why? I did not to realise that liposuction could do such damage to your bowel. How many know they are not covered by insurance girl these procedures. I'm glad this storyline is on. Don't think Sarah in any position to give parental advice now. Her life's been a car crash.

When Corrie tackles major issues, like Paul's MND, they do it well. Cosmetic surgery abroad is a bit of a lottery. The vastly reduced costs encourage people to go abroad for these procedures and dentistry but as with most things, you get what you pay for. There was a programme on about a year ago where a Mum and daughter went to Turkey for boob jobs and tummy tucks. They both had the most dreadful problems post-op but were quickly sent back home for the NHS to deal with the fallout. The pictures were horrendous and both of them were left much worse off than when they started. A good topic for Corrie to air. I agree with Allsorts, Sarah is the last on the list for relationship advice but people who live in glass houses and all that.

Unfortunately the people most likely to be personally affected by this story line are not Corrie watchers.

The implication last night was that Joel was about to kill himself; cynical, but the scriptwriters will not kill him off - in spite of his being presumed dead he will pop up here and there causing mayhem until Christmas, and then die in a spectacular fashion. Any other theories?

Cabowich Sat 28-Sept-24 12:32:06

Perhaps Mason will save him from suicide smile

Clawdy Sat 28-Sept-24 12:40:45

Yes, he'll pretend to be dead then emerge cackling evilly like Jack Nicholson in The Shining : "Here's Joely!" grin

Perhaps Mason will save him from suicide smile

I was rather hoping that he would drive his car into Speed Dahl, Mason is in there, we could get a 'two for one' deal if they were both finished off at the same time!

This thread is on a roll!

As I am a few weeks behind you (live in Canada) having read the latest Corrie updates, I cannot wait to see the next episodes, exciting times ahead. I have been watching Coronation Street since I was 10 and never miss an episode. Must say though that I too am fed up with the horrible Joel, he needs to go!

maddyfour Sat 28-Sept-24 15:58:23

I’ve watched Corrie since I was quite young too Llamedos, with a few years missing it during my youth, but I watch now again, every episode.
I do wonder how much it’ll last though.

Charleygirl5 Sat 28-Sept-24 16:54:33

I now feel sorry for Mason- am I alone?

With luck Joel will drown himself with alcohol and sorrow, driving into the water and drown.

BlueBelle Sat 28-Sept-24 17:52:13

No I m feeling sorry for Mason Charleygirl and I m with Stu helping him

No, you're not alone, people can change when shown kindness. He obviously has an horrific home life which has contributed to his actions.

Charleygirl5 Sun 29-Sept-24 15:29:30

I hope Fiz is not leaving. So many are leaving, either by their own volition or assisted by the script. Soon there will be a handful of the regulars we know.

Mason is lucky to have Stu as a father figure to look after him and hopefully keep him on the straight and narrow.

Curlywhirly Sun 29-Sept-24 18:33:00

Joel does seem to be up to something; acting drunk in Roy's cafe, but then straightening up in the alleyway and pouring the whisky away. Then making his pleading phone call (was it to Dee Dee? Can't recall, as I wasn't paying too much attention 🙄) then looking all scheming and evil when he'd finished the call. Looks like he's persuading everyone that he's about to kill himself, but it's all an act. Hmm.....

Clawdy Mon 30-Sept-24 22:52:44

So Fiz is pregnant! Didn't see that storyline coming. And looks as if Swain has some illness.

Sarnia Mon 30-Sept-24 23:01:05

I don't think Joel is dead. How convenient for Kit to suddenly find the notebook that the 'suicide' note was written on, making it seem as if Joel planned it all. It wouldn't surprise me to find that Kit is up to his neck in Joel's dealings too.

Charleygirl5 Mon 30-Sept-24 23:02:27

Pregnancy was the first that crossed my mind.

How did she manage to get a GP appointment so quickly? I have not seen my GP since before Covid with one telephone appointment a few months ago.

Doodledog Tue 01-Oct-24 01:38:13

I think Kit is up to no good too. If so, I hope he’s exposed along with Joel. I’m sick of baddies hanging around for ages.

Mason reminds me of a werewolf. He looks as though he’ll howl at the moon - maybe Halloween will see him off.

vegansrock Thu 03-Oct-24 05:43:09

Why don’t Fiz and Tyrone have any money? They are both working and don’t have a mortgage.

vegansrock Thu 03-Oct-24 05:44:46

Todd is becoming Mr Nice Guy.

BlueBelle Thu 03-Oct-24 05:51:05

Well that was a boring episode nobody much at the funeral except some unknown faces ( extras cheaper to employ I guess)
I m sure Fiz and family ( her bother is part of the Apollo family) and the rest of the street would have been there
I ve gone off Billy lately can only ever see a Smurf talking
Thought it was a yawn and fairly unrealistic episode

vegansrock Thu 03-Oct-24 06:12:57

Yes, why so few people at the funeral? It would have surely been packed.

Doodledog Thu 03-Oct-24 06:43:36

Was it because Bernie and Billy disagreed about it? I think they’re having a rave in Paul’s honour to celebrate his life. I do think the new staffing arrangements where cast members are on zero hours contracts will kill Corrie. In the olden days (when I were a lass) everyone turned out for weddings funerals and christenings. It was a three line whip, and a great opportunity for a fight or revelation of some sort.

I’m guessing Denzel is going to undergo a cobbles rehabilitation and become a much-loved character now?
