The old one is getting full, so here’s a nice shiny new one.

Where is Lauren? What is Dee Dee’s chap up to? Is Kit a villainous baddie or a force for good? Do we care?

Post your predictions and observations here (no spoilers please).

Devorgilla Sun 02-Jun-24 17:07:44

Beechnut and Calendargirl, I like your scenario of Pat Phelan's son avenging his father.
I neglected to include Carla and DS Swain as a possible unit, both, for different reasons, having a vested interest in finding the killer.
A distinct possibility that Max has help hiding Lauren.
Charleygirl5, I agree that Ellie and Nicky are more closely involved. Perhaps Nicky is the 'procurer' of young girls for the gang and not quite as reformed as Daniel would like to believe.
I wonder if 'spoilers' writers read Gransnet - for first time I saw possibility of Kit and Joel being mentioned as part of a grooming gang just as it was being aired on this thread.

I find it all too contrived, and can see it going on forever.

Beechnut Sun 02-Jun-24 19:40:59

All to be made clear on……Christmas Day😂

Aveline Sun 02-Jun-24 19:49:07

Oh no! I can't stand much more. I'd really hoped it would be all over last week.

Charleygirl5 Sun 02-Jun-24 22:31:55

Aveline I could not agree more- silly me thought that was the whole reason for the week, get a lot done and dusted and not drag on for many months.

sharon103 Sun 02-Jun-24 23:35:33

Right from the start I've thought that Bobbie knows something.
His dad, Carla's brother is in prison for murder.
Something to do with the inmates?
I don't think Laurens dead either.

BlueBelle Mon 03-Jun-24 05:54:59

Ahh so in your mind Sharon because a child has a prisoner for a father he must be a bad un too !!!
I think Bobbie really had feelings for Lauren
I ve never felt she’s dead

Calendargirl Mon 03-Jun-24 07:07:57

I don’t think that’s what sharon meant, BlueBelle, more that with Bobby’s dad being in prison, he might have heard rumours about it all, and have other information about what’s going on.

🤷‍♀️?

Sarnia Mon 03-Jun-24 08:21:49

If Lauren survived the beating that Joel gave her then she would have needed medical treatment of some kind. Corrie will wring every last minute out of this storyline although without naming names another resident gets arrested for murder this coming week and it's nothing to do with Lauren. Weatherfield must be the murder capital of Britain.

Beechnut Mon 03-Jun-24 09:14:48

It has overtaken Midsomer!

Devorgilla Mon 03-Jun-24 10:02:28

Beechnut, that's some achievement.

We have all assumed all the way along the 'killer' is a man.

Calendargirl Mon 03-Jun-24 20:45:21

Bye bye Simon.

👋

Aveline Mon 03-Jun-24 21:36:13

Good riddance!
Just remembered Joel's ex wife came to the Bistro to tell DeeDee that he's OK. She went with him to visit his baby. What was that all about?! Very odd.

Doodledog Mon 03-Jun-24 22:18:16

Oh yes. I'd forgotten that.

suep1953 Tue 04-Jun-24 11:33:58

After rejecting his birth family, I think that Kit is going to need something 'medical' from them in the future. Maybe a kidney, or bone marrow, something like that.

I remember Vera giving a kidney to her grandson, 'are Terreh', was supposed to donate but he did a runner,

Calendargirl Tue 04-Jun-24 13:48:53

And one of Deirdre’s husbands, the young chap she met on holiday, donated a kidney for Tracey, after he had died from something or other, I think.

It was when she was Deirdre Rasheed,

vegansrock Tue 04-Jun-24 13:53:10

Carla had a kidney transplant as well didn't she? Corrie could run their own transplant clinic.
The Lauren story will be dragged out even more - I think they’ll bring Hope into it as she found the necklace in Joel’s car and maybe will recognise it from the photo - maybe she’ll blackmail Joel or dob him into it.

Doodledog Tue 04-Jun-24 14:36:41

And Peter got a new liver, too. None of them ever seemed to need anti-rejection medication afterwards for some reason.

Clawdy Tue 04-Jun-24 16:45:18

Wasn't there a Weatherfield Transplant Centre, it featured in a couple of episodes?!

Grannynannywanny Tue 04-Jun-24 17:22:35

I can think of at least Nick, Max and Ruby who’ve had head transplants over the years. I’m sure there are a few more.

pinkprincess Tue 04-Jun-24 20:28:32

On the subject of Corrie characters and their transplants, Carla was straight into the Rovers after her kidney transplant and back to downing alcohol.
Also not just in Corrie but in all soaps, terminal cancer is suddenly cured and quickly forgotten about. Remember the story of Hope having cancer?. Tyrone arranged fake snow to fall that Christmas as he stood in the doorway with his most pathetic face shouting " Ope's got cancer". That was very quickly forgotten about as well.

LovesBach Tue 04-Jun-24 21:52:11

We were attempting to recall the characters who have had the Coronation Street bed in Wethy General, close to death, with an oxygen mask and drips, and also the number of residents who have been in prison, and married Peter and Nick. I'm sure some have done all three. It got terribly confusing, at one point someone got so confused they appeared to be suggesting that Nick and Peter had married each other. Can anyone recall the sequence of their marriages to Leanne and Carla?

Llamedos13 Wed 05-Jun-24 03:14:27

Help me out here all you Corrie fans.I am a bit behind you in Canada and we have just had the episode where Nathan reappears and Bethany is convinced he is Lauren’s killer. Is this Nathan the same actor who groomed Bethany all those years ago? He looks nothing like the Nathan I remember.🤔

Calendargirl Wed 05-Jun-24 06:56:54

Think it’s the same actor Llamedos

Grannynannywanny Wed 05-Jun-24 07:10:10

It only just dawned on me this week that he also appeared in Call the Midwife. He played the part of Trixie’s flamboyant brother Geoffrey.
