Is anyone watching?

I never like the housemates in the first few episodes as they squeal too much, but apart from that they don't seem too bad this time.

The twist about the storage area has potential.

The girl who went in first (Rose?) is going to annoy me by keeping her mouth open in faux surprise. It's obviously fake and I want to tell her she'll catch flies if she does't close it.

Any more thoughts?

Agree on all points Doodledog! The first few days are just a cacophony of screaming and talking over each other. I agree that Rosie and all her ‘oh my god!’s is very annoying. I like the young blond girl with the silver dress, and the young disabled footballer seems nice. Looking forward to seeing how it all unfolds.

Enjoy this series everyone. I will not be watching this time, but will be back in January fie the celebrity one.

Doodledog Mon 07-Oct-24 20:28:19

Join in if you catch an odd one, rafichagran?

LadyGaGa we will find out soon what the deal is with the storage area. I don't usually watch the after show, so if they've revealed all on that I don't know about it.

Lily is very irritating, too.

Also. If they were banned from saying 'Oh My God' on pain of eviction it would be an excellent task - it seems to be 70% of everything they say.

maddyfour Mon 07-Oct-24 23:08:59

No, not watching. I prefer the ‘celebrity’ one.

Doodledog Mon 07-Oct-24 23:57:57

So do I, but as that's not on, I'll have to make do with the ordinary one grin

Ailsa43 Tue 08-Oct-24 00:46:28

Not watching for the same reason I wouldn't watch Joe public dancing on Strictly...only interested in watching Celebs... as long as they're celebrs we've heard of...

DanniRae Tue 08-Oct-24 07:41:19

When BB started years ago I really loved it .... especially the one with Josie Gibson! But not so keen now. I too will watch the Celebrity one.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 08-Oct-24 07:48:17

I am dipping in and out.

Lilly the noisy one would drive me loopy, I wonder if she has ADHD or similar, of course she could just be an attention seeker…

Toetoe Tue 08-Oct-24 08:40:56

Yes watching and will follow this thread .

shysal Tue 08-Oct-24 09:23:50

I am another who doesn't take to anyone at the start. Lily is doing my head in though! From what I have seen so far, not many of them can string together a normal sentence.

Doodledog Tue 08-Oct-24 09:39:26

Did anyone see a programme called something like Joel Must Win? A panel of ‘celebrities’ manipulated a BB-type set up so that an unassuming contestant would win. They could change rules, alter tasks to make him more popular and so on.

It was really interesting to see how these things can make such a difference. It’s worth trying to find it if you haven’t seen it and are interested the dynamics of reality TV.

No, not watching. I prefer neither.

It's fodder for mental defectives

Second that Orly!

I was waiting for the usual rude comments from those who think they are above such trivial viewing. Why even read the thread?

Good God that’s rude.

MayBee70 Tue 08-Oct-24 16:08:58

Can’t see it on the tv listings.

rafichagran Tue 08-Oct-24 16:19:23

Orly and Jenny although not watching this series, it never ceases to amaze me that people who don't watch it have to be do rude and condescending. My daughter and I like Big Brother, my daugher is a senior journalist with a specialism in finance. I retired over a year ago doing
a very pressurised job. Are we mentally defective?
There are plenty of threads on Gransnet why come on one and be offensive to people who do watch. Such a twattish thing to do.

rafichagran Tue 08-Oct-24 16:22:29

I would like to watch but this year do not have the time to watch. Enjoy DD and everyone.

Cateq Tue 08-Oct-24 16:46:29

I’ve never watched BB, never saw the attraction myself. I took the same view as Billy Connelly it’s sitting on a couch watching people sitting on a couch.

ITV 2 at 9pm (122 SKY)

I'll avoid it as much as possible.

LadyGaGa Tue 08-Oct-24 18:49:17

If you want to avoid all things BB then avoid this thread! I don’t like gardening, so avoid those threads. It’s as easy as that. I wouldn’t go on the thread to insult people 🙄

Anyway, back to important matters. I didn’t think I’d like the ‘older’ lady - but I’m warming to her. She seems quite funny and caring. I’m interested to see if Lily calms down, or if that’s really how she is. I think Martha will be really popular. But I might change my mind after the next episode!

Ignore and move on. You can't cure rudeness.

I would never use a phrase like 'mental defective', but I honestly don't think that someone who comments so vehemently about something they have never seen (so know nothing about) has much by way of grey matter, and in this case their choice of language confirms that.

Those of us who do enjoy it, welcome one and all. Anyone who has better things to do with their time, please feel free to go and do them?
