Just got to have yet another thread for us to grumble about our favourite soap, warts and all.

I never watched it 😆

Grannynannywanny Thu 26-Dec-24 09:01:42

That was certainly an action packed episode. So much going on. It felt like it should have been spread over 2 episodes. I was struggling to keep up with all the activity. Nick seemed to teleport himself between the bistro and police station.

That was a dramatic fall down the stairs and through the fire door onto the cobbles for Adam. I laughed when Shona asked Kit to wait with him till the ambulance arrived so they could get back to the wedding meal.

Is this going to be another possible crime Kit will overlook if it’s to his advantage?

I honestly felt like I had been on the wacky baccy watching Corrie. It was all over the place! Laughable really.

Sarnia Thu 26-Dec-24 10:45:39

Has Gail gone yet? Can I finally come out from behind the sofa?

Cabowich Thu 26-Dec-24 12:01:47

Aah, you're all wicked smile. I thought it was a great episode - loved David's speech - and then all the extras thrown in. Kept me entertained anyway!

I must have blinked and missed Daisy's pregnancy result. Surely it is Daniel's to keep this love triangle going.

Might be Kit’s?

I do agree that Gail has suddenly started to look fragile; she is walking awkwardly, seems slightly bent, and could be Audrey's sister. There are less than ten years between them. She has hardly appeared for quite a long time, and although I found her character irritating with her whispered advice and the constantly blinking eyes and fluttering lashes, it would be sad if she has had to leave due to ill health.

Sarnia Thu 26-Dec-24 20:00:03

I suppose Daisy's pregnancy will keep Corrie going for months. I was not a Gail fan. I had to turn the TV up to hear what she was saying with that simpering smile. I almost choked on the Roses to see Gail smoochily dancing with her dead husband. I wonder how many takes that scene took. The cameramen must have been in stitches.

I see the prison set got used again.
Poor Daisy. I’m sure she could find herself a decent bloke.

I would feel sorry for any decent bloke who landed Daisy. She's a bit of a player and economical with the truth. She's a good match for Kit.

Calendargirl Sat 28-Dec-24 10:16:44

When did she start sleeping with Kit?

And surely her fling with Daniel was only a couple of weeks ago?

It seems a bit early to be feeling nauseous, she can only be about 4 weeks gone.

Can the scriptwriters not come up with anything other than babies, gangsters and prisons?

Why is Kit wandering about the Rovers in his pyjamas? I thought he now had a new home.

It seems a bit premature for Jenny to be going into raptures over this new baby.

Aveline Sat 28-Dec-24 11:25:16

I can quite see Jenny being a good Gran. It would be good for the poor baby in the long run too.

BlueBelle Sat 28-Dec-24 11:38:37

I missed the Kit/Shona sex dabble was it good ?
I like Daisy and I like bad boy Kit so they d be perfect for me Cant stand Bethany, why I don’t know !
I think they are making some big mistakes in the storylines I think the Gail dancing with whatshisface was nauseous and ridiculous
Like Adams short hair looks much better

Doodledog Sat 28-Dec-24 11:41:55

Yes, I agree that Jenny would be a loving granny.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a Cobbles baby born naturally to loving (and solvent) parents with no doubt about the paternity, no appointments for terminations and changes of mind, no fears about who will look after the baby whilst its mum is in prison and no life-threatening illnesses?

It seems they are all 'miracle' babies, conceived after a half-remembered one night stand, to parents who hate one another, and are unable to care for the child because of reasons too complex to understand, and just before they are due to start school they develop a condition that needs them to be off-screen for long enough to grow a new head.

Aveline Sat 28-Dec-24 11:50:42

Don't forget the quads though Doodledog. Loving parents!

BlueBelle Sat 28-Dec-24 12:00:02

I was in tucks of laughter when I saw Harry (it is Harry
isn’t it ?Sarah’s little boy ) …..well he went to bed an almost non verbal 3 year old and woke up a very good little actor of
about 8
Anyone else notice this ?

Doodledog Sat 28-Dec-24 12:10:13

Aveline

That's true, bless them.

Yes, Harry's been to the head shop too, hasn't he? Will his reincarnation mean he has a storyline coming up, I wonder? Isn't he Max's half-brother?

vegansrock Sat 28-Dec-24 12:30:21

You wonder why someone like Daisy isn’t clued up about contraception?

Grannynannywanny Sat 28-Dec-24 13:18:06

Indeed vegansrock. Unprotected sex with 2 men in a matter of days. Kit has also had an encounter with Shona not to mention the random woman he was kissing outside his apartment while wearing his dressing gown. Daniel is in a relationship with Bethany. Perhaps for a touch of reality Dr Gaddas should be treating some of them for STIs.

Aveline Sat 28-Dec-24 13:29:57

Good idea. Dr Gaddas should open a STD clinic! Open all day and immediate appointments always available (just like all her other clinics)

love0c Sun 29-Dec-24 09:23:58

Surely it is going to be Daniels's baby? She said straight away she is having and keeping it. Good for her, I say!

Charleygirl5 Sun 29-Dec-24 10:11:34

Who is going to look after the baby? Has she been sleeping around? The father may be somebody totally different.

I also do not like Bethany. When script writing they do not appear to think ahead. They definitely need help from us.

I was raised a good Catholic, so there would be no sleeping around in my scripts. I would bring in more fun and lose some of the misery.

Calendargirl Sun 29-Dec-24 11:18:40

Have been reading some comments by the new producer about forthcoming storylines for 2025.

Let’s just say I can’t think there will be a huge improvement.

BlueBelle Sun 29-Dec-24 11:21:20

We knowGails gone but I ve also heard Audrey, David, Debbie and Evelyn are all leaving ?? Going to be some difficult storylines if they are all off
