Well this have been reported in online news not just clickbait I don’t think Avaline as so far the ones that have been reported as going have either gone of have commented themselves that they are moving on

Well, the latest one to be announced as ‘moving on’ is a character who has attracted many derogatory comments here on GN, ‘wooden’, ‘can’t act’… so doubt if many tears will be shed over their departure (I’m sure it’s true).

The forthcoming plots that have been teased do not make me think things will improve.

I honestly keep watching as it fills up three hours of tv time and there is not much on. I don’t subscribe to any paying channels.

And although Gail’s acting was slated so often, she gave such a moving monologue, looking out of her window at the Street, after Aiden committed suicide.

Just a pity these are ‘stand out’ episodes, and so many of them are just nonsense.

It's interesting that we have a long running Corrie thread but not an EastEnders one. What does that say I wonder?

I know, I know Aveline. It says we all love Corrie BUT I think we are all concerned that it is becoming more and more about baddies, stabbing, drugs, alcohol, stomas, unwanted pregnancies, divorce and all the awful stuff.
Yes it reflects real life but surely real life is much more humorous, peaceful, happy and much less horror than portrayed on the present Corrie.
Let’s have balance.

I enjoyed last night's episode. I am on team Daisy, not team Bethany.

Corrie can't win either too much drama or too boring!
We must care about the characters of the Street more than we care about the residents of Walford.

like is the really impossible ones like Carla getting off her deathbed in hospital and tottering off to the prison without even a pass to see a murderer, or Evelyn going to Uni a couple of weeks after she applied That stuff make me very irritated

However hard Masons death was to watch it replicated what’s going on in the world

BlueBelle I definitely agree re Carla getting off her deathbed without permission and returning as though she had visited the loo.

Evelyn is apparently having a "rest", hence the move to the halls of residence.

I will miss her humour and I am not looking forward to the court cases on the horizon. They must all be loaded to afford a lawyer unless it is win or no fee.

Daisy looked gobsmacked when Kit said he wasn’t interested in marriage or the baby, but would pay his way.

I’m sure she wasn’t wanting to marry him, but the fact that he showed no desire to be a dad was a shock.

No doubt she will now think Daniel is a better bet.

Yes, last night’s episode plummeted new depths.

The prison scene, with the wardens cowering outside the visitor area, Matty with a knife, the entire feeble plot.

Then Dylan getting drunk in the alleyway, (where do they get the money to buy vodka etc)?

Carla and her kidney.

Bethany and Daniel, one minute planning a fancy wedding, then wondering about a marvellous job opportunity in London.

The scripts are just dire and absolutely laughable.

Plus refusing Rob’s if he were the last man standing.

Well, for a start, surely they need to check if he would be a suitable donor. No use getting worked up about it if he isn’t.

And of course, Alya (aka Perry Mason) sitting with her boss openly discussing Matty’s court case in Speed Dahl or wherever. And Adam offering to have a chat with Dylan about his in the cafe or similar.

Why not just set up in the Street and invite everyone to listen?

I don’t know who’s leaving (although after the giant hint upthread about a ‘wooden’ actor I now have a good idea about at least one). It ruins it for me when I find out these things - even with the daft storylines the pleasure is in seeing what happens on the night. I don’t read spoilers - and these days rarely find out from things like newspaper headlines either, as newsagents are thin on the ground so I don’t see them splashed on front pages when buying a packet of mints on my way into work as I used to.

With a couple of exceptions I find it’s not the actors but the plots that are spoiling it just now, and I think that’s because of the new contracts that mean they can only work with a small number of characters at a time. I really wish they would reverse that decision as it’s killing Corrie. Yes, the idiotic plot holes (such as the private kidney transplant) are jarring, and I don’t like the gangsters and criminals, but I would miss it if it gets so bad they cancel it.

I thought the paying part was to do with the donated kidney being from a prisoner, needing extra security whilst in hospital and suchlike?

And of course, we still don’t know if Rob is a match, do we? But let’s not worry about minor details like that.

No, I’m not keen on the dead ‘returning’, and to be honest, I don’t like the ‘finding God’ theme either.

Religion in Corrie seems to teeter between mockery and fervour, neither sits well with me.

I hope Lauren’s blessed trial is soon over and done with, and we don’t have to keep seeing her mardy face and hanging hanks of hair.

Doodlebug I wouldn’t worry at all as there are at least 5 or more are wooden actors in Corrie and the the last name I read was leaving, certainly for me doesn’t come in the category of wooden but there are a number of names out them in the news domain All will be revealed over the next few weeks

I did suggest that recently. I always put ‘no spoilers’ in the thread title, but didn’t start this one.

I don’t think having two would work though. I suspect that both would die off. I might just cone off this one - it’s a shame, as I enjoy the gossip and speculation, but it’s happening a lot now, and people don’t seem to be able to resist doing it.

I’m sorry if my ‘wooden actor’ comment was a spoiler for you, but as BlueBelle said, there are so many other ‘wooden’ actors in Corrie, (I could name half a dozen) that I didn’t think it was too revealing.

I honestly don’t know how you avoid seeing spoilers. I don’t read newspapers or magazines, but ‘spoilers’ about the soaps pop up all over the place, alongside pictures of the ‘supposed’ ones who are going to exit, so they are hard to miss.

Where do you see them? I really don’t. I used to sometimes when I called into a newsagent on my way to work (just walking past meant seeing a rack of tabloids which might have a photo and headline about someone being sacked or whatever) but as I say, even that doesn’t happen much now.

Someone like Gail (or Ken when it’s his turn) who’s been in it for decades might be on the News, but that’s quite rare. I find it very easy to avoid spoilers (if I cut my mum off mid-flow that is )

Re Spoilers.

I often see them on Facebook, especially Daily Mail and some Manchester pages pop up, although I don’t live there!

Can’t help seeing the headlines, but avoid the story line plots.

But when an actor’s face appears with the headline “So-and-so to leave Corrie”, well, you’ve seen it, even if it turns out to be fake.

But so often correct.
