I agree that they do have to reflect real life characters. We don't have to like them though. Just to flag up, Corrie is on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Then we have to give way to the Great God of Football.

Rob, minus a kidney just a day or two ago, has overpowered and duffed up a policeman, got dressed, escaped the hospital, broke into the back of Carla’s car, …..
And none of the medical/nursing staff noticed two post-surgery patients had disappeared. We lived near a surgeon who hated these storylines on soaps. He said it gave people a false idea of how quickly they would recover. The reality, as he put it is, if you fall off a roof you are more likely to be in a wheelchair for life than being at a disco the following week.
Carla could have screamed / fainted as they passed numerous staff in the hospital. Prison/hospital/hospital/ prison - I’m fed up with both of these much used sets. Seriously thinking of giving up my Corrie habit when it changes format . Not liking the new couple.
The only shred of humour was when the surgeon came in with a felt pen to draw a mark on Kevin's testicle and Debbie asking him to wait while she made a hasty retreat. The rest was pure slapstick. Why do the scriptwriters insist on events which wouldn't happen? I suppose Swain will think Carla tipped Rob over the banisters and we will have weeks of that. I wish they could find some good storylines for the likes of Glenda and Todd. Both characters have a lot of potential but seem to be almost extras these days.
And who is looking after baby Frankie, as Lauren seems to be be spending her time between the cafe and the court, doesn’t seem too concerned about his well-being at the moment.
At least she wasn’t sniffling into her sleeve last night.
The new character is dreadful, even worse than the bimbo that latched on to Dev's son. Carla and Rob storyline is just too far fetched to be believable. Kevin really does look ill.
Well that was ridiculous between the awful neighbours, Rob half dead but still going strong no sign of the bent copper girlfriend and weepy Swain then Kevin and his dodgy bits what a shower Quite of the evening from Kit Half of weatherfields police are out on the job ……Well that’s just Craigy then
The fast forward button gets plenty of use these days. As soon as Abi, the new neighbours, Carla & Rob, David & Shona and Lauren appear, on it goes. Corrie takes about 15 minutes to watch these days. Where are the new neighbours children? Why hasn't Chesney put 2 and 2 together and realised who his new mate really is?
