Why did they carry on working with him if he was so vile. They could have just walked away instead they smiled away while cooking on celebrity masterchef.
If anyone made patronising sexist or crude remarks to me they would regret it straight away.

I assume it is very hard when contracted to do a programme like master chef which is so highly thought of to just walk away, some women would take the attitude ‘why should I?’ And really - why should they? Am sure complaints were made by the women to Wallace at the time. But again it is still hard for women to have complaints taken seriously until other women start the ball rolling, so this is why historic cases only come to light once one woman has been brave enough to come forward.

I used to watch him on Inside the Factory. Nestle asked for him never to return after he filmed an episode there because he was making remarks to the female staff that working in a chocolate factory was the reason they were fat. He clearly has all the subtlety of a stampeding bull.

Evidently it’s not just him. There are other complaints flooding in about others according to some reports.

Yep his comments have just made him look even worse, if that is possible, his legal advisor should tell him to put a sock in it.

How the heck did he manage to get 4 wives? I find it hard to understand that anyone would give his ugly mug a second glance, let alone give him their bodies! Yuk, yuk, yuk!!

He’s clearly implying working class women wouldn’t object to being sexually harassed, whereas up themselves middle class women of a certain age have no sense of proportion or humour.
He’s incapable of reading the room.

I think he may have a nasty, but well deserved surprise, if he thinks working class women are more accepting of his attitude.

I honestly don’t think that looks come into this situation, there are many plain or ugly men who are happily married if you look around.
I think he’s invoking the ‘Karen concept’ here isn’t he? That won’t help his case.

I’m glad Master Chef is going ahead tonight. The programme is not about one man, and these professional chefs have done well to get to the final. I’m glad they’ve been prioritised. I don’t see why Wallace should ruin it for them. They must be bursting to let their families know how they’ve done.

I agree.

His remarks were misogynistic, sexist and harassment but it would be a pity for his unacceptable behaviour to ruin the show for others taking part.

We won’t be seeing him after this series anyway. Or on any other TV programme I suspect. He really heaped coal on the fire by posting about “middle class women of a certain age” before belatedly apologising. An amazing lack of self reflection and awareness, plus an ill conceived entitlement.

So in order to shift the blame for his oafish behaviour, he's created yet another division in our society.

On FB these middle-class women of a certain age are already being smeared for "crawling out of the woodwork".

Yes, the "I'm-sorry-if-you-were-offended" apology.

It's the kind of 'apology' used by those who attempt to portray themselves as the victim and garner support. Various comments I've seen on other social media would suggest that it has worked to some extent for Wallace.

Of course at the moment the allegations against him are just that - allegations.

But how many thousands of women have had to put up with oafish behaviour by men for fear of either some sort of reprisal, maybe not being believed, or - if believed - being mocked for taking 'laddish' behaviour too seriously. Because it was just banter, a bit of fun.
