Thought I’d start a new thread as the other one is full. Nothing to say really at the moment because I said it at the end of the last thread. Hopefully we can carry on with our Corrie moans!

I hoped the writers wouldn't let Daisy have a quiet exit. I had an idea she would be the one left with the £60k and a ticket to Bali rather than Brighton. She wouldn't know the truth if she fell over it. Very manipulative and always put herself as No 1. She added spark to a lack lustre soap and I shall miss her.

Clawdy Mon 05-May-25 08:27:36

No, the Mousetrap ending has never changed. Always worth a watch!

BlueBelle Mon 05-May-25 20:29:36

I m probably the only one but I m sick and tired of Julie dying
Looks like she’s just gone now we ll have all the grieving and funeral to get through 🥱

Primrose53 Mon 05-May-25 20:30:50

The artificial flowers poked into the grass all around the lake where the girls decide to sit! 🤣🤣🤣

And make up girl forgot to apply several coats of fake tan to Theo’s face tonight.

Aveline Mon 05-May-25 21:36:49

Those flowers stuck in awkwardly looked dreadful.

Beechnut Mon 05-May-25 23:02:18

They did indeed!

Crossstitchfan Mon 05-May-25 23:13:15

No BlueBelle, you weren’t the only one sick of Julie dying, but she’s gone now, so we won’t have to watch that any more. Like you said though, we’ll now have the funeral etc. I was sad that they could write a nice lady like Julie out after a very short time, but we have been stuck with that vile Lou for what seems like forever!
I thought tonight’s episode was about the worst and most boring I have seen in weeks. It seemed to go on and on. I thought Corrie might be looking up a bit lately but after tonight, I’m not so sure. Oh dear!

Doodledog Mon 05-May-25 23:58:39

I really thought that Julie was inventing her illness to gt some sort of revenge on Eileen (not sure why). I was surprised when she died, as I thought she would take off into the sunset with George.

vegansrock Tue 06-May-25 05:23:25

I’ve been away so haven’t caught up with the last couple of episodes, but don’t think I’ll bother after reading the reviews on here. Ditto the Archers.

Calendargirl Tue 06-May-25 06:50:30

It’s Eileen’s twisted mouth that I notice every time she speaks.

I’m sure it didn’t used to look like that. Must be a result of any work she had done.

Just finish with her George! You’re too nice to waste your time on her.

Did Theo end up on Todd’s (i.e. Eileen’s) couch? Surely not, with Julie’s sudden death? I expected Billy to put him up.

Another hopeless storyline.

BlueBelle Tue 06-May-25 07:27:58

I ve never noticed Eileen’s mouth I ll have to look now

I m really getting bored with Corrie it just all seems so banal now, you can almost write the script for them Next we’ll have to waddle through Debbie’s dementia which will be completely speeded up from about 10 years progressive illness into a few weeks
🥱🥱🥱

Calendargirl Tue 06-May-25 07:42:56

Plus Dee Dee’s angst over baby Laila, who she didn’t give a moment’s thought to until the last episode or so.

Surely James can’t just take a baby over to the USA to adopt without social workers and official paperwork?

All very odd.

Calendargirl Tue 06-May-25 07:45:25

And of course Theo, who grew up in some strange religious cult that ‘cured’ him of being gay.

Sounds like the plot of some third rate American B movie.

Grannynannywanny Tue 06-May-25 07:49:14

Surely with Brian being the love of Julie’s life he would have been contacted immediately . It seemed odd that Eileen and George were back home and Julie’s body was already in the funeral parlour and nobody thought to phone Brian during that time. Then instead of calling him to the house they break the news to him in the pub in front of everyone. Poor Brian.

Calendargirl Tue 06-May-25 07:58:59

He’s been the love of her life for the last fortnight!

sodapop Tue 06-May-25 09:17:27

I wondered about the baby needing documentation to leave the country as well Calendargirl but of course this is soapland.

Dottydots Tue 06-May-25 11:32:35

Please Debbie, put Ronnie out of his misery and tell him your bad news. I feel so sad for him. He doesn't know what he's done.

Calendargirl Tue 06-May-25 12:25:53

Yes, Debbie should have told Ronnie. Made it clear she didn’t want him tied to her out of loyalty or guilt.

Her condition will reveal itself so he will find out eventually.

Doodledog Tue 06-May-25 13:30:59

Calendargirl

He’s been the love of her life for the last fortnight!

They were a couple before Julie's return. I can't remember why they split, but they were together for some time.

Charleygirl5 Tue 06-May-25 14:27:35

Am I losing the plot but I did not recognise Theo last night because his suntan had vanished and he looked pasty.

It is all a tad predictable, but I do not like Mick or Lou. The former has a nasty temper that he cannot keep in check, and the latter is just nasty.

Calendargirl Tue 06-May-25 14:55:43

Doodledog

Yes, I knew they had been a couple in the past, but ‘love of her life?’ Was he with Cathy after her?

Also couldn’t remember her being with Kirk or Dev.

Mind you, several were ‘with Dev’.

Aveline Tue 06-May-25 16:49:23

Lucky cows! Jealous? Moi?

nanaK54 Tue 06-May-25 21:35:01

Have only just caught up with latest episode.
Julie - oh that was sad, do you think she had been saving up her pain meds?
Theo - bore off and don't you dare upset lovely Todd again.
Jenny - oh shhhh you were happy enough to rip off Daisy, I think Sally and Tim should run The Rovers!
Debbie - please just tell Ronnie the truth.
James - bring baby Laila back right now!

Calendargirl Wed 07-May-25 07:02:50

I never thought about Julie saving up her pain meds, I just assumed she’d died.

At the risk of sounding heartless, glad it didn’t spin out for weeks to come.

I thought she and Eileen might go off for a visit to Jason in Thailand. The fact she was terminally ill, where would they get the money from, would she be allowed to fly, etc, etc, didn’t seem to matter.

Then she would die over there, and Eileen would stay on.

Obviously not gonna happen like that.

hmm

BlueBelle Wed 07-May-25 07:16:21

I didn’t want the storyline to go on so was pleased she keeled over and off to pastures new I think it was daft to bring her back for a few weeks when there’s plenty going on in the present street George will get her a gold lined coffin and no holds barred funeral for ‘eyelashes’ sake 🥱🥱

Lets watch the skittles roll now
