Thought I’d start a new thread as the other one is full. Nothing to say really at the moment because I said it at the end of the last thread. Hopefully we can carry on with our Corrie moans!

Maybe the nappies weren't for her. She was trying to get Dev to reduce the price - maybe she planned to sell them on?

I don't care - I just hope the pair of them leave sooner rather than later, and preferably take Brodie with them.

I think Mick and Lou although throughly dislikable have acted extremely well as nasties, on the other hand I m not sorry to see the back of poor Craigy the most useless pc and (sorry lad) but not a very good actor nearly as wooden as Kevin’s son, (he of the lost foot that gives him no trouble whatsoever)

Doodledog Fri 23-May-25 19:50:32

I agree that Mick and Lou have been well acted. I would prefer them to leave, as I'm tired of seeing horrible people become national treasures after a few months in Corrie. If only that happened in real life.

Poor Beth, Craig’s mother, seemed to be the last person notified of her son’s tragic death.

I don’t think in the circumstances such news would be left to the family to inform her, she would have been visited by serving police officers as a matter of urgency.

Not a tearful phone call from dopey Kirk in the Rovers, whilst everyone else ‘toasted’ poor Craigy.

As for distraught Lisa suddenly proposing to Carla……aargh!!!

The actor who plays Mick, Joe Layton, also appears in The Bombing of Pan Am 103. Two entirely different characters, so not a bad actor at all.

Two good episodes this week- ahve the directors listened to us and changed the writers?

I agree, the hospital bed needs a rest for a while because Corrie to me, is becoming more violent.

LovesBach Sat 24-May-25 11:43:22

It occured to me yesterday evening, with the amount of violence shown, that this was all before the 9 pm watershed. Has that deadline been abandoned?

Doodledog Sat 24-May-25 12:13:01

There was a warning before it started.

Calendargirl Sat 24-May-25 12:39:33

Doodledog

There was a warning before it started.

Very few Corrie episodes now without a warning at the start.

If it’s not to tell us about violence, it’s distressing or upsetting scenes….

Defeats the object, viewers just expect it now.

Doodledog Sun 25-May-25 05:48:49

I don’t mind warnings, but I wish they weren’t so specific (eg ‘X has thoughts of suicide’, or ‘there are scenes of knife crime’) as they can give away the plot before we’ve seen the episode. A general ‘scenes that some viewers may find upsetting’ should be enough.

Charleygirl5 Sun 25-May-25 08:58:50

I totally agree, Doodledog. I do not always remember to mute the start, so I do not learn or easily work out what is about to happen.

vegansrock Mon 26-May-25 04:40:26

Would Tim really have been allowed to leave a hospital with two young girls he didn’t know without so much as a call to social services ?
Handy how Asha is always on her shift at the right time.
As for Swain proposing to Carla - really?

vegansrock Mon 26-May-25 04:44:29

It’s also strange how Carla’s kidney transplant never gets a mention. She never seems to have to go for check ups or take medication. Plus she’s always knocking back the wine.

Grannynannywanny Mon 26-May-25 07:17:41

The street is sadly lacking a resident social worker. They’ve got most other occupations covered. If one lived on the cobbles they could just knock on their door or discuss their case in the cafe or pub like the street solicitors and cops.

We did briefly see a social worker during DeeDee’s pregnancy when the adoption plan was set in motion. Then when baby Laila was born the social worker was nowhere to be seen. I wonder when she’ll realise the baby has been handed over to uncle James for a new life in the U.S.

Calendargirl Mon 26-May-25 07:27:12

Did Dee Dee’s baby actually go with James?

I couldn’t remember if the poor little mite was still being passed around the family like a ‘pass the parcel’.

If so, what about paperwork, birth certificates, adoption orders……?

Grannynannywanny Mon 26-May-25 07:56:22

I can’t even remember now Calendargirl. It was such a jumbled storyline with the poor little baby being passed around. Now that I think of it maybe James has travelled back to the U.S without her for now .

BlueBelle Mon 26-May-25 08:50:27

I think it’s still there isn’t it ? It never went off in a taxi ??

Calendargirl Mon 26-May-25 09:10:09

But Dee Dee, after finally ‘bonding’ a bit with baby Laila and looking after her for a short time, didn’t she let James go off with her whilst she, Dee Dee, stood peeping round the corner and stifling tears?

Whether that was going back to America, or just taking his turn at ‘pass the baby’, I can’t recall.

🤷‍♀️

Charleygirl5 Mon 26-May-25 09:53:28

I hope there is no more violence tonight. The hospital bed has had more than its fair share of Corrie residents.

Calendargirl Tue 27-May-25 06:55:04

So the funeral is to be held in Norfolk, and family only?

That will solve Beth having to return. Cue for drawn out memorial service, probably in the gardens, followed by a booze up in the Rovers.

Has anyone remembered just why Beth was exiled to Norfolk? It was Kit, wasn’t it, blackmailing her with about Craig helping Faye and the old bloke who died in the flat?

As for Bernie sticking her nose in, and now telling bare faced lies, giving awful Brody an alibi….

Glad that Lou is still able to demand vodka in the Rovers. Was Tim still minding ‘the girls’?

Charleygirl5 Tue 27-May-25 08:32:06

I hope Brody returns to prison and the key is thrown away, or he will leave with Mick and Lou soon.

Bernie has not told Brody of his unexpected alibi so with luck he will put his foot in it when asked where he was.

Doodledog Tue 27-May-25 08:42:02

Bernie is Brodie’s granny, isn’t she? Is he going to take one of the many spare rooms in Gemma’s elastic house now that he’s part of the family?

Does Kit own that house, incidentally? There was risk of eviction a while ago and if I remember rightly he bought it. That may be wrong though.

Charleygirl5 Tue 27-May-25 09:27:46

Doodledog I rarely remember small parts like that. I hardly know who is renting or buying. I thought those houses were two up and two down, but some are more like five up and one down.

Chesney and Gemma's house is too overcrowded for me.

LovesBach Tue 27-May-25 09:34:42

Why did Beth leave? Kit had a blackmail hold over her, but it would be useful to him only if she were around and he could use it as it suited. With both Craig and Faye now gone, she could return, with a different head. Can't remember if the actress was written out, or decided to leave.

Calendargirl Tue 27-May-25 12:17:58

She was written out, I think (Beth).

Along with all the rest, more to come also, but my lips are 🤐.
