Thought I’d start a new thread as the other one is full. Nothing to say really at the moment because I said it at the end of the last thread. Hopefully we can carry on with our Corrie moans!

I am so cross with Debbie, she should tell Ronnie.

Clawdy Tue 27-May-25 20:20:29

Yes, I've lost a lot of sympathy for Debbie's character now.

Norfolk is where Corrie sends it's characters when they are written out or having a break from filming,

Have seen a lot of comments on social media about Lisa’s sneezing episodes the other day.

Most said it was her best acting to date!

I thought so too, and wondered if she had a cold in real life?

However, the conclusion seemed to be that she had pepper hidden in her sleeve, and kept sniffing it to make her sneeze.

Who would have thought it?

Grannynannywanny Fri 30-May-25 17:32:11

I wondered what was going on with all the over the top sneezing and sniffing by Lisa. I decided it was one of 2 possibilities.

A. She has severe hayfever in real life and it was a way of incorporating it into the storyline.

B. She’s coughing and sneezing today with what’s being passed off as a heavy cold. She’s going to take a dramatic turn for the worse overnight and will be in hospital with pneumonia in the bed Craigie has just vacated. Carla will be at her bedside covered in tears and snot and wishing she’d accepted the marriage proposal 😆

Isn't the awful Mick/Mark in the hospital bed now? grin

No, back in the usual prison spot now.

Poor George!

I think he needs to realise what a lucky escape he’s having, with miserable Eileen turning him down.

As for that ghastly funeral! Karaoke, party games, silly speeches….

Eileen’s acting is awful.

BlueBelle Fri 30-May-25 21:25:11

I m sorry, but Corrie was dreadful tonight really hit the buffers The wake was truly awful, Jason arriving like a over cooked turkey Glenda with her tongue hanging out and Brian and Mary in an over acted ridiculous tuneless song then on to miserable Eileen ready to be on the move Billy eyeing up the latest man to arrive on the street Todd looking like an overgrown schoolboy with his top hat on
Oh dear it was awful

nanaK54 Fri 30-May-25 22:33:09

I thought Todd looked like the Artful Dodger!

harrigran Sat 31-May-25 07:33:05

I think last night's episode was just ridiculous.
Can't stand Glenda or Eileen, didn't like Julie either as I thought she was childish.
I am seriously considering dumping the soaps as the acting is rubbish at present.

Well, George didn’t look much better.

And Todd’s awful boyfriend….one minute he has his tongue down Todd’s throat (yuk) then the next he is flouncing off like some prima donna.

Todd, he is Trouble with a capital T.

Grannynannywanny Sat 31-May-25 07:42:37

The sight of George and Todd in the top hats made me laugh out loud. They were poorly fitting and sitting at the wrong angle and just made them look silly.

BlueBelle Sat 31-May-25 07:48:07

Glad I wasnt the only miserable one who didn’t enjoy any of it last night I m disliking such a lot of the characters now I think it’s just familiarity (plus nothing else on) that keeps me watching
I m like you Harrigran don’t like many of the characters any more ( couldn’t stand silly Julie and even sillier Brian) don’t like Mary or Glenda or Gemma or Todd’s bit on the side or Debbie’s brother who’s name I can’t even be bother to remember
I m really going off Corrie

Grannynannywanny Sat 31-May-25 08:18:27

My memories of Jason are rather vague now. If I’ve remembered correctly he had relationships with numerous females in the street including current characters Sarah and Maria and he was briefly married to Sarah.

If he gets on the wrong side of Kit it’s not going to end well. I can’t imagine Sarah falling for him again but Glenda looked scarily attracted to him. Enough to make him run for the hills.

Beechnut Sat 31-May-25 08:25:28

Sounds as if my idea to watch Would I Lie To You instead was better viewing.

sodapop Sat 31-May-25 08:38:10

I have to agree with other posters, last night's episode was dreadful. The top hats were ridiculous and Theo couldn't act his way out of a paper bag.
As for the wake words fail me.

FishandChips15 Sat 31-May-25 08:55:23

I think I missed something. What is the problem between Theo and the new guy talking to Billy? Can someone fill me in please?

Grannynannywanny Sat 31-May-25 09:06:14

FishandChips15 he was involved in conversion therapy to cure Theo of being gay. Theo told Todd but then was angry at Todd for confronting him.

LovesBach Sat 31-May-25 09:31:29

Is Jason back for an extended period, permanently, or a flying visit? Eileen said she had thought he couldn't come back for the wake - so well worth travelling from Thailand - but I didn't pick up on his response.

tanith Sat 31-May-25 09:46:23

I think Jason is part of Eileen’s ‘leaving the soap’ plan I read the actress persuaded him to return to ‘The Street’ just for that purpose.

Calendargirl Sat 31-May-25 09:59:57

Don’t think Jason ever married Sarah.

I think he got cold feet and escaped through a bathroom window, was that on the wedding day?

Still think Sarah acts very well with all her many on-screen boyfriends. She seemed to really like Damon, and now there looks a definite chemistry with her and Kit.

Kit just needs the love of a good woman to ‘heal’ him of all his past traumas.

[sigh] and blush

Bukkie Sat 31-May-25 10:57:50

I don't think Sarah and Jason married on Coronation Street but they Tina and Ryan married in real life and have a teenage daughter Scarlet. I think it ended acrimoniously so I am not sure if we will see them together on The Street. I too read he is part of Eileen's leaving storyline. Eileen used to be one of my favourite characters but after she showed her true colours in The Jungle I struggle to watch her in Corrie. She and the equally vile Charlene White bullied many campmates. I hope George doesn't leave, he is such a lovely kind character.

Aveline Sat 31-May-25 12:11:46

I agree. I used to like Eileen but after seeing her in the jungle I couldn't stand her. Poor George. I hope he stays. What happened to his big house btw? Did he give it to Glenda?

Calendargirl Sat 31-May-25 12:46:06

Yes, he gave his house to Glenda to make up for her being missed out of the funeral parlour inheritance.
