BBC article has been charged with two counts of rape sad

"Meanwhile, Mr Blades appeared in court in Worcester via videolink alongside his legal team on Tuesday for a preliminary hearing in relation to a separate charge of controlling or coercive behaviour, which he has denied"

I bet the BBC wish they'd have employed an actual heritage craft skilled specialist to front The Repair Shop now - it was such a lovely programme.

He hasn't been found guilty yet but there seems so many men with a questionable nature on television

Thanks Casdon

For those who don't open links - this, I think, is key - they ask:

Does the evidence provide a realistic prospect of conviction? That means, having heard the evidence, is a court more likely than not to find the defendant guilty?
And;
Is it in the public interest to prosecute? That means asking questions including how serious the offence is, the harm caused to the victim, the impact on communities and whether prosecution is a proportionate response.

You missed the other very important thing NotSpaghetti

‘The test we apply in deciding whether to charge a suspect is different from that applied by the criminal courts. A jury, judge or magistrate may only convict if they are sure that the defendant is guilty.’

That I think is where the difference between our views is.

I never liked Jay Blades as he was fronting the Repair Shop with his leather apron but didn’t do any of the work! He always had to be there for the reveal which really annoyed me as the talented people who did the wonderful work weren’t seen. I was very glad when he went. I don’t know about his guilt or innocence on the charges but I couldn’t have had the audacity to meet and greet as if you were the talent. I always wondered if there was some chunnering from the others behind the scenes!

I’ve never taken to him. Far too familiar and touchy feely. Just another male TV presenter with an overblown ego who likes us to think he’s ever so ‘umble.

Spot on. I never liked in either. l always thought he slippery, slimy and a bit of a creep to be honest.

Really fancied himself and came across as being really false.

Good riddance to bad rubbish
