anyone watching

Grannmarie Sun 10-Aug-25 21:01:40

It's not really gripping me so far, although I loved A.D. in Line of Duty.

BlueBelle Sun 10-Aug-25 21:07:52

Grannmarie not gripping me either finding it fairly dull and a bit predictable Andrew Dunbar seems to have aged a lot
Perhaps it ll rev up 🙃…..perhaps !

Grannmarie Sun 10-Aug-25 21:32:10

Oh, he's singing 🎶 again, can't remember the name of the other drama where he sang.

ayse Sun 10-Aug-25 21:37:41

We’re just watching the first series again before we watch the second. I find it a reasonable watch, nice and slow that doesn’t take much concentration.

I read recently there may be another Line of Duty on the way.

It's OK, easy watching. Sometimes it's nice to watch something that's not too convoluted.
I like Adrian Dunbar.

lemsip Sun 10-Aug-25 21:57:52

bring back The Bill, that was better than this!

BlueBelle Sun 10-Aug-25 21:58:40

Oh dear very underwhelming found myself ‘wandering’ wouldn’t rush home for the it

Allira Sun 10-Aug-25 22:10:51

I kept saying to DH "This must be a repeat, I've seen it before".
He said I couldn't have, it's a new series. confused

Then I found out it was on Prime last year. It's ok, but it's not exactly Line of Duty and I don't understand why the nightclub and singing is necessary.

Charleygirl5 Sun 10-Aug-25 22:12:14

I certainly did not have to give much thought to what would happen next but it was easy watching.

sassenach512 Sun 10-Aug-25 22:58:44

Finding it a bit 'meh' really. I like Adrian Dunbar as an actor but we're seasoned 'Vera' fans and it's just not doing it for us.
The singing bit is a bit naff too. We'll give it another couple of watches but if it still doesn't improve, we'll be hauling Vera back out ☺️

Calendargirl Mon 11-Aug-25 08:27:17

Well, at least he wasn’t doing ‘his turn’ at the end, which was how each episode in the first series finished.

Yes, he’s aged (haven’t we all!) and it’s all a bit contrived.

At least he’s having counselling for the loss of his family.

Don’t like Julie Graham, not sure why all these older men find her so attractive, she always looks rather hard nosed to me.

Dull and boring.

Yes.

Watched to first series and was very disappointed as I really liked him in Line of Duty but found it really boring and as for his singing ……. Won’t be watching I’m afraid

annodomini Mon 11-Aug-25 10:47:00

I loved Adrian Dunbar in Line of Duty, especially with the Northern Irish accent. Is that his normal accent or is it assumed for the role? I think it would be a hard one to 'borrow'.

Dull and boring.

And his Singing.. that's not good.
Overall very disappointed with last night's episod. I did read it was written by the team that did "Vera". Think they had a bad day?

Clawdy Mon 11-Aug-25 15:10:18

Not great, but will carry on watching. That singing was a bit odd! Like Shayne Ward in Good Ship Murder, but Shayne was a good singer!

Samsara1 Mon 11-Aug-25 15:32:25

Disappointing. We looked forward to it but it was just miserable and depressing. I don't understand why the police with their finite budgets would invite a consultant in on a job they could have coped with themselves. We will carry on watching but I'm not staying up for it.

I loved The Bill🥰

I think Adrian Dubar is a wonderful actor - and was an absolutely pivotal character in Line of Duty.

But I watched the first series of Ridley - at least I saw some of it, none of which I can now recall - and I thought it was deadly dull and didn't do his talents justice.

The I newspaper said something similar today. I won't be watching it.

Aveline Mon 11-Aug-25 20:54:45

Lemsip YES! Bring back the Bill

I also kept wondering if I’d seen it before because the “child snatched from the caravan park while mother awol” plot seemed familiar. Anyone else?
