Time for the next thread.

Mrs Doyle ( Maggie? ) is very wooden.
Terrible in fact.

vegansrock Thu 13-Nov-25 22:53:28

Who is working in the garage? Abby and Carl gone. Tyrone in a wheelchair. Kev eating crisps in front of the telly.

Didn’t Brody start there a few weeks ago?

He’s probably fully qualified by now, and running the show single handed.

I don’t take to the Maggie character at all nor the whole family in fact who have taken over the show The male members are preferable to the two female shrieking banshees
Afraid for me their entrance has not made Corrie better
I still watch but I watch with one eye, not two and really don’t get much out if it I only look forward to it through familiarity and curiosity now I think, and the fact there is so little else to interest me on TV like football all last night 🙄😠

Katte1949, that's irritated me too.

Oops, sorry!

The new Rovers family have had the opposite effect on me. Prior to their arrival I was still faithfully watching but finding it all rather dreary. They’ve refreshed my interest and I’m looking forward to seeing what unfolds. I particularly like Maggie and I think there’s a lot more to her than currently meets the eye.

I’m curious to know what she saw in Ken Barlow’s cupboard the day Amy invited her in to help look for a punch bowl. She did a double take then quickly closed the cupboard. There’s not been any reference to it since then and I’m beginning to think I might have imagined it 😄

You didn’t imagine it. I saw that too and can’t understand why, after quite a time, we have not been enlightened.

Oh, don’t worry, it will all come out at a later date, I’m sure!

Corrie yesterday was awful! First off, we had to suffer the gormless David dragging a comb through the same bit of some poor lady’s hair for five minutes. He bears no resemblance to a hairdresser as far as I can see and wouldn’t last as one in real life. Why show such stupid situations if the actor hasn’t the talent to make it realistic?
Then there was Will pushing his food around. Another favourite trick of the writers. I have no idea why they think it works in a scene because it doesn’t. It just irritates.
Is it not possible to get scriptwriters with a bit of experience and, most of all, talent? I am thinking perhaps they look at Corrie, realise how bad it is and want nothing to do with it. I assume the writers at the moment are on their uppers and are doing it because they are desperate for money.
The cast is fine, but they have nothing really good to work with.

And the daftnest of the female coach and the little lad who doesn’t look at all mature, I know, I know it can happen but having dinner with the family then kissing in the alleyway really is pushing it a big bit
I thought David ran his own barbers / hairdressers did he sell out ? Him and Maria are always at Audrey’s

I really am finding it hard work at the moment

Calendargirl Sat 15-Nov-25 16:17:04

Did anyone notice how Eva held her cutlery in that meal they were all eating?

A two year old could have done better.🍴🥄🍽️

How old is the coach meant to be?

And of course, Theo had to reappear again, no job, no money, but able to sit in the Rovers boozing.

Ellie Anne Sat 15-Nov-25 19:50:23

I’m not enjoying it at all just now just have it on in the background. I don’t like the new family. Is Tyrone going to be in the wheelchair forever?

Cabowich Sun 16-Nov-25 09:00:10

Is Tyrone going to be in the wheelchair forever?

Who knows? But we'd be complaining if he made a miraculously quick recovery, as happens all too often in Corrie.

Primrose53 Sun 16-Nov-25 09:21:41

I am still very sick of all the innuendos with Theo and poor old Todd. Who writes this stuff? Theo suggests Todd and he have some fun rather than Todd going to work. Todd obliges then goes in late saying he has been doing press ups! Do we need this? It is just horrible.

sodapop Sun 16-Nov-25 09:26:50

How many people are actually working in the Rovers, family of three plus Glenda, Gemma, Lauren, Sean. Must be making a lot of money to support them all.

Crossstitchfan Sun 16-Nov-25 11:07:48

Primrose mentioned the press-ups and I agree that it was horrible.
I wish the scriptwreckers would decide what is going to happen with Theo. His story is getting nowhere fast and he just stands there like a steaming turd with that sneer on his face, but giving nothing to the story. I loathe him!
There are quite a few irritating and dislikable characters in Corrie at the moment, which makes it a hard watch. I keep wanting to slap/kill/shake many of them.
When will it perk up and revert to the Corrie we knew and loved? Hateful Irish grannies and a bit of not so subtly suggested how’s-your-father is not going to do it!

I wonder what the Christmas storyline will be?

Crossstitchfan Sun 16-Nov-25 13:42:04

I truly dare not think about it!

pinkprincess Sun 16-Nov-25 19:24:22

Lauren appears again and immediately gets a job in the Rovers despite having a young child.
Gemma has quads of primary school age yet finds the time to work in the Rovers
Where are all these instant child minders who are able to work time of the day or night?

Charleygirl5 Mon 17-Nov-25 08:18:35

Having had spinal surgery, a wheelchair, with few exceptions, is the last place Tyrone should be. It irritates me when the scriptwriters don't do any research.

Beechnut Mon 17-Nov-25 21:56:28

I wonder what the Christmas storyline will be?

I’m wondering if it will be Todd and Theo in a crime of passion storyline.
