Oops - second time lucky?

I went to see it this afternoon and thoroughly enjoyed it. the special effects are excellent (I didn't see it at an Imax cinema) sound was mostly OK and the story rolled along at a fast pace. Well worth 3 hours of my time, recommend it although I'm another who dislikes the American accent but that's because I'm British!

I don’t mind three hour long films, if only they would allow a comfort break 😩 what happened to intervals?

I enjoyed the sound track more than the movie.

I enjoyed the sound track more than the movie.

I expect many people enjoyed the intermission more than the film, especially anyone with a smidgeon of knowledge of history

I don't mind American accents in classical or Biblical epics. British English sounds better to us but is no more logical than American in those contexts. (The English language didn't even exist then!)

I agree, it really only sounds a little ‘off’ as we are British.

DD2 went to see it at an IMax and said it was a wonderful film.
Like all films some will enjoy and others won’t.

Off to see it today. It has subtitles, free coffee and cake as it is just for oldies 👍

The film was spectacular, far too long, but having subtitles helped tremendously. I would give it 8 out of 10.

I am glad some other people liked it, I went in with reservations but I loved it.

Saw this last night. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Only knew the basic story but could follow most of it. Very spectacular. My OH who can't stand how loud the cinemas are these days actually wore ear plugs and said that worked really well. I'm deaf and couldn't go the day the subtitled edition was playing. However I was able to still enjoy it. I did jump with fright a couple of times which added to my enjoyment I also enjoyed my prosecco whilst sitting in comfortable seats in an air conditioned cinema. Oh! incidentally knowing it was so long and wouldn't be over until nearly 11pm, I had a siesta in the afternoon

I've seen it and enjoyed it. I've no idea how accurate it is to Homer's and tbh I don't care. It's an entertaining film which kept me engaged for 3 hours when some films don't for half that time. I found it easy to follow and the special effects are brilliant.

I saw this film today and Wow! Wonderful to see a movie with the director, Christopher Nolan and his staff at the top of their game. Some wonderful performances from the actors and actresses. The Odyssey will be nominated in many categories for this masterpiece.
