Anyone up for a 'Traitors thread'?

Graphite Sat 10-Oct-26 13:59:44

I’m a first time watcher and already hooked on the strategy even if I am finding some of the contestants dim.

The development of the game is interesting, based on psychological theory about how an informed minority (the Mafia) could use deception and coordinated strategy to completely manipulate and overpower an uninformed majority (the innocent Citizens). Like modern day politics in many respects!

The game was re-themed based on werewolves and citizens hence the night and day phases. Perfect Halloween season viewing in a way.

It is also based on the 17C shipwreck, the Dutch Batavia hence that shipwreck mission which freaked out poor Ross when Bella put the captain’s hat on his head.

I think it can be silly but am still watching.

I am getting rather Victorian about this.
I don't care for the gothic overload, installing people in coffins, burying people, 'murdering' people, and encouraging people to lie to win the game.
Obviously, this is my first time of watching; I only watched to see Richard E Grant as I recently read his book about his wife's death and wasn't altogether sure about it, (say no more); he (unpredictably or intentionally?)is no longer with the programme.
Several more intelligent friends have become addicted through watching it with their teenage grandchildren so I am giving it a try, but so far it seems rather, well, teenage.
(retires behind the sofa.)

I agree, it is a bit light, teenager, fluffy - but speaking for myself, it's just what I need at the moment. There's so much heavy drama around.

I think Maya will win it because she flies so elegantly below the radar.
Anyone who talks too much or suggests who might be a traitor seems to be suspected.

This new game is interesting. If Leigh-Anne is chosen but can't be murdered then she will have a good tale to tell at breakfast. James Blunt's retro outfit for the mission made me laugh.

It made me laugh as well - the headband! 😃 Entertaining!

That was a tense round table! I wonder if anyone will be speaking to James Blunt at breakfast? Or Jerry speak to Hannah?

I don’t imagine Rob will be the Traitors’ target as he doesn’t add much to the Faithful team imo, far too jumpy, and he thought Julie was a Traitor.

Ross has been quiet in the castle since his earlier paranoia but he is very useful in the missions that require muscle. He chose Julie.

Romesh is analytical and one to watch. He thinks Hannah is a Traitor.

Leigh Anne also thinks Hannah is a Traitor but said it was a close decision between her and Julie.

At the round table, Bash admitted that Bella had confided her theories to him, Romesh and Ross. One can imagine that anything Romesh is told he confides to Rob as they are so close - but they did vote differently.

I think the Traitors will try to murder either Leigh Anne or Romesh. In that case they may end up eliminating nobody but will have succeeded in seeding doubt in the minds of the Faithfuls if a Traitor is usually included in the potential victims.

I wish we could have heard the Traitor’s discussion about who to select. Maya is playing a brilliant game. I don’t think anybody has mentioned her name in informal discussions as a possible Traitor.

I didn’t enjoy this latest mission although kudos to Bash for retrieving the necklace (and a shield) and Michael Sheen for his rousing spirit incantation. Full-on Brian Blessed mode!

Am afraid I would have thrown up with Miranda last night, have a really sensitive gag reflex and the smells inside the haunted toilet would have set me off.
Are they prone to cross over with ‘I’m a celebrity get me out of here’ tasks??
Certainly the crawling into a toilet task seemed similar.
And the chanting was a bit daft.
Hannah looks so guilty all the time I feel stressed for her, but the other traitors are cool as cucumbers. Of course Hannah will go next week so will they recruit another traitor??
I think Michael should be chosen because he is just so uninteresting otherwise.

^This will cast suspicion on the 'survivors^

Which is the Traitor’s plan.

Of course it is.

The four chosen for the woods seemed to think that only faithfulls had been chosen when at least one could have been a traitor.

Absolutely.

This will cast suspicion on the 'survivors'.

I'm glad I'm not in it. I couldn't stay awake till midnight far less run about in the woods in the middle of the night!

Am sure you’d look great running around fearfully in a white lacy nightie ( as in so many horror films)😁

Hannah looks so guilty and stressed. I don't think she is very good at lying but she survived!

I like Ross.

Jaxjacky Sat 10-Oct-26 10:53:01

Phew for Hannah, she’s deflecting well.

FGT The conclusion, at last night's Round Table was that Julie is a Traitor. So she was banished....not murdered.
Another faithful gone.

Ziggy62 Sat 10-Oct-26 09:42:51

Sadly she was banished

Ziggy62 Sat 10-Oct-26 09:40:32

Julie wasn't murdered

It's astonishing how some of them don't say a word and no-one suspects them at all. It seems the best way to survive is stay silent. Look at Sharon Rooney, she's hardly opened her mouth and her name hasn't been mentioned. Ross Kemp hasn't contributed either, yet neither have been suspected.

Ross was pretty vocal in episode 1.

Aveline Sat 10-Oct-26 08:38:38

Fir goodness sake! Just because the editors don't choose to highlight it doesn't mean they 'dont say a word'!

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sat 10-Oct-26 07:42:12

That’s true. Perhaps best to agree with everything people say, don’t gush like Julie did and keep a lower profile.

So Julie got murdered. Poor sweetheart. Another Faithfull gone. As Claudia said at the Round table “you are all doing the work for the Traitors”. Oh dear.

Now James Blunt admits he is utterly confused and hasn’t got a clue.
Maya is playing a blinder.

4 Faithfulls are in the firing line tonight for murder. But one has a key to lock the door of their own crypt. If the Traitors do choose her she’s safe so none of them will get murdered. It’s tense isn’t it?
