Anyone up for a 'Traitors thread'?

BlueBelle Fri 30-Oct-26 11:59:44

Oh Avaline how could you not like Kenny he’s a sweetheart
as is Romash he make me laugh even before he opens his mouth (and is very easy on the eye)
Now both the James I find incredible annoying and James Acaster has spoilt the entire game in my opinion Apparently
( I don’t watch it ) he had a melt down in a Baking programme too. Why on earth put himself up for these programmes if he has problems, oh dear yes I forget the fee is probably tasty.

I don’t mind Maya although I d never heard of her before along with about six others. I think she’s played the game fairly well

On the whole I haven’t enjoyed it nearly as much as past programmes both celebrity and ordinary folk ones seems much slower and more boring to me but I certainly was looking forward to it

Thought some of you might find this interesting:

www.irishtimes.com/opinion/2026/10/29/rachel-odwyer-theres-a-reason-comedians-like-joanne-mcnally-rarely-make-good-traitors/

That's an interesting article. It explains why people see Maya and Kenny as trustworthy.

What had Joanne done to her lips in that picture? They look like they've exploded. I don't understand why people do that to themselves. Everything now is so fake.

BlueBelle Fri 30-Oct-26 12:19:17

Oh dear the lips Chestnut do people really see a different image when they look in the mirror

I agree.

Love both Romesh and Michael. Kenny is growing on me more and more, he seemed too over-excited when he was first picked to be able to keep the secret.

Why Leanne has not been banished is a puzzle. I thought they had her pinpointed as a Traitor.
The two women who have just gone, Joanne and Sharon, were both very annoying.

I like Maya and thought she was playing a good, steady game but she is ruffled now.

Fallingstar Fri 30-Oct-26 12:57:33

I am with Aveline on Kenny, he just seems really cocky and hasn’t engaged on an emotional level with any of the others.
I know, I know, everyone else loves him, but can’t help how I feel.

Fallingstar Fri 30-Oct-26 12:59:44

Poor James A had a bit of a wobble at the round table that was edited out. I think the cross examinations at the table can be a bit much, I certainly wouldn’t like it.
An obviously sensitive man who has gone up in my estimation.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 30-Oct-26 13:00:36

I would like to see either Romesh or James B to win.

Millie22 Fri 30-Oct-26 13:01:04

Oh well I thought it was funny even if she was a bit over the top with her reaction.

It's just a game.

Fallingstar Fri 30-Oct-26 13:07:10

I’m rooting for Romesh too. But due to his deductions that resulted in revealing James A and throwing Maya into the spotlight I think Michael also deserves to win. If he survives.

Fallingstar Fri 30-Oct-26 13:08:35

I don’t like either of the surviving traitors.

Joanofarc99 Fri 30-Oct-26 13:10:41

Maya for the win.....tho I do think that's probably unlikely now

Yes, I’ve been reading about James A’s struggles with his mental health. I watched a clip from an interview he did with Alan Brazil on his talkSport show in 2019 where he was very open about his experiences. This if you can access it:

x.com/BeardedGenius/status/1191121789038006272

It makes me wonder why he put himself through this ordeal but presumably felt strong enough at the outset to participate. I suppose the thing is that you can’t go into the game hoping to remain a Faithful, that you will never be put into the position he was at the start - be recruited or murdered. Hannah was the same.

(I still think Joe Lycett would have made a good Traitor. He’s mischievous enough.)

James is getting a bit of flak about his actions last night which I hope he doesn’t take too seriously however many months on we are from filming. It is only a game after all. We shall see when he’s interviewed on Uncloaked this evening, assuming he is.

Delila Fri 30-Oct-26 13:20:39

Maya looked (to me) as though she couldn’t hide her contempt for James A’s confession, but in fact he did her a favour, as it diverted the suspicion that was fast closing in on her.

Fallingstar Fri 30-Oct-26 13:24:22

I agree that they missed a trick with Joe Lycett. As far as I am aware it is the agents of these celebs who suggest that they take part in the game show in order to raise their profile, though now the show is so popular I imagine even high profile celebs are queuing up to take part. Perhaps James A is at a bit of a tricky crossroads with regard to his career after suffering with his mental health and so decided to give the show a go. I think he should have had a word at the beginning with the production team to say he couldn’t face being a traitor, I know is game with rules that must be followed but there’s nothing wrong with making allowances.

Fallingstar Fri 30-Oct-26 13:24:53

That was in reply to Graphite

Graphite Fri 30-Oct-26 13:38:13

Exactly, Delila. It gives her (and Kenny) the opportunity to murder Michael, if that’s what they choose to do, and a day of breathing space to divert attention elsewhere but where too?

I do think the remaining Faithfuls have finally, finally cottoned on to needing to look at those they least expect and admit the mistakes they made during the scarecrow mission. They would have been so much stronger if Michael hadn’t turned the heat up on Sharon.

FallingStar. I was rewatching the first episode. It was Richard E Grant who chose James A to go head to head with Amol on that first murderous evening, as he said James was onto him. REG didn’t need anyone to be onto him! He more or less banished himself!

Parsley3 Fri 30-Oct-26 14:18:43

I was amazed that not everyone was onto him after he outed himself Graphite.

I don’t like either of the surviving traitors.

You must have genuine people-reading skills to see beyond the façade.

If you read the article above, it shows how clever Maya and Kenny are at gaining people's confidence and trust. It's what they do for a living so they're professionals. 😳

Oreo Fri 30-Oct-26 16:07:45

Poor old James A , probably for the best that he’s out of the show now as it was too much for him.
I think Maya has been a good traitor also Kenny but I think the others have rumbled them now as Michael knows they were all in the library to murder Ross in plain sight.

Fallingstar Fri 30-Oct-26 17:03:47

@Chestnut the family would agree that I am a good judge of character but haven’t always made the right call.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Fri 30-Oct-26 17:16:52

James A was given a choice, become a traitor OR be murdered. If he was that unhappy about being a Traitor he should have opted to be murdered.

He spoiled it doing what he did, outing himself. He was a bit of a wimp really in what after all is a GAME for charity!

Oh c’mon, James A was brave to out himself, not a wimp. And just because it is a game doesn’t mean that people don’t feel the pressure, certainly a few have become emotional. He certainly didn’t spoil it for me, rather he went up in my estimation as a sensitive person who really didn’t like having to lie.

Fallingstar Fri 30-Oct-26 17:24:10

But he would never make a good politician.

Maremia Fri 30-Oct-26 17:52:10

I love the castle, the scenery, the missions, the fact that they all seem to be enjoying themselves ,
Would love that breakfast.
All set to enjoy tonight.
Think Kenny will win.

BlueBelle Fri 30-Oct-26 17:53:58

I totally agree with friedgreentomatos (maybe a first 🤣🤣)

I think he did spoil it he spoiled the task when he refused to do it because the people next to him would hear him moving!!!! Yes, that was part of the game so he badly let his two fellow traitors down
Then refused to play the game by outing himself at the round table
Oh dear Fallingstar why would a sensitive soul who has panic attacks take part in a cut throat game of coffins and graveyards and murder Couldn’t be the 40 grand fee could it ?
