I'm feeling very slobby - done no walking for the past two days.

Need to get lazy bum into gear, get dressed and out the door! Planning to do a 90 minute walk, clear the cobwebs and burn off a few calories. smile

Just have another coffee first cafe

Will be doing "daily exercises", as determined by physio, because I'm "working towards" regaining full mobility. (Thankfully, these can be done lying on the bed!) Did go swimming yesterday, and I gave it some wellie. Today l'm having a therapeutic massage - does that count?

Yesterday I had some dental implants done and now have 30 stitches in my mouth so my only exercise today is getting out of bed, walking to the sofa and crashing out.

Today I shall be walking to my friend’s car - she will park as far away from the shops as possible then we will “exercise” by walking to the shops and in and out of the shops, followed by a coffee and just one piece of shortbread each! Then we will toddle back to the car. I have been very lazy recently, blaming the weather, but really I just can’t be bothered. I have been doing some sit-ups though, as trying to get rid of this flabby tummy in order to get into a rather slinky dress at Christmas. I have a large box of shortbread (my weakness) which was a birthday present, but have been very strong and resisted opening the packet so far. I have tried “control pants” to keep the belly under control, but they just gave me a muffin top which looked worse.

Already did an hour on the beach with my dog and will do a long walk this afternoon, hail rain or shine.

It's chucking it down today, but with two fairly large dogs tearing around the house I don't have a choice, so that's today's exercise, same as everyday. I do miss use of pool now it's too cold. I swam until 14th October in unheated pool - bracing! I was informed that my last year's last swim was in water at about 15 degrees! no wonder I puffed and my heart raced!

I couldn't get to sleep last night. My mind wants to go shopping. My body wants to stay on the sofa. My body is winning for now.
Lyndal66 My council runs walks too. It was my New Year resolution to do some. I must make it again and try harder next year.

Yes, been to the gym...in fact I go every day. Dog walk later. I'm a lazy person by nature so I have to be forced encouraged to exercise.

lesley4357 Fri 30-Nov-18 11:27:49

Walked the school run this morning at 8.20am. Like walking through treacle, but woke me up!

Feelingmyage55 Fri 30-Nov-18 11:31:55

Does vacuuming the whole house from top to bottom, moving everything out from the walls count?

Patticake123 Fri 30-Nov-18 11:50:49

Just walked to the shops and back and going to an over 50’s gym session this afternoon. That is a first so wish me luck!

goldengirl Fri 30-Nov-18 11:54:00

I go swimming up to 5x a week in a heated pool! I do a Pilates class once a week and attend choir where we don't just sing but dance around! The rest of the time I'm either at my PC or with my nose in the paper or a book. I LOATHE walking partly because my balance isn't good but my NY resolution is to join a group [ preferably Nordic walking as you get TWO sticks!!!]

Blinko Fri 30-Nov-18 12:53:26

Does playing bridge count?

Izabella Fri 30-Nov-18 13:03:31

My usual daily swim. However, now my foot is painfree once again I shall recommence running next week.

Saggi Fri 30-Nov-18 13:12:09

I went swimming at 7.30 ( 1km) then cycled to my local town ( 5km) to pick up Amazon parcel from pick-up point ...cycled home...just finished third load of laundry....eaten lunch and am gonna now the back lawn( last time this year) this o.m. Think my exercise is done!

Elegran Fri 30-Nov-18 13:16:24

Nope, I won't be doing any exercises.

I did walk (half an hour), to my GP appointment, carrying my stuff (heavy) for my art group straight afterwards.

Then, at the Community Centre where the Art Group meets, we were invited to take our pick of hundreds of surplus books before the Charity Shop section chucked them out, so when I walked home again (uphill) I had a second heavy bag to carry.

Definitely load-bearing exercise, very good for me but enough is enough.

lovingit Fri 30-Nov-18 13:16:25

Walked the dog for 2 hours (such a beautiful day) and later have to muck out and fill nets and water buckets for my mucky horse.
I did plan to go swimming but I can hear my kindle calling so sorry housework and pool it,s reading time.

Carolina55 Fri 30-Nov-18 13:18:03

Well done Terriebull! I’m on holiday in Mexico and have just returned from the gym- stepper & bike for half an hour and 1 minute plank to keep my back strong! Worth doing so I can enjoy lolling on sunbed later!

Cherrytree59 Fri 30-Nov-18 13:19:54

Been a long and stressful week, so the most exercise I have done today is walking with Dyson.smile

EllanVannin Fri 30-Nov-18 13:22:52

Was reading " Walking for Health " in my area which is something I'll be looking into next year ( which isn't far away ) for those with heart problems and cancer etc. Sounds good to me and worth following up.

Riverwalk Fri 30-Nov-18 13:25:18

Well I did my 90 minutes and now feeling very virtuous smile

Quite a mixed response ….. I'm afraid eating cake and having a hair-do don't count as exercise! grin

Angelmph Fri 30-Nov-18 13:32:50

Have just been out for my lunchtime stroll with the ladies in my team at work. You lovely ladies of leisure make me envious by choosing if, where, when and for how long to venture out smile

lovebeigecardigans1955 Fri 30-Nov-18 13:36:41

I feel quite virtuous if I manage to go for a walk round the block which only takes about ten minutes, being the lazy slob that I am.
This is a habit which I must get back into as I need the exercise. I've always hated sport of any kind though, being about as uncoordinated as a baby elephant trying to struggle out of a deckchair.

jenni123 Fri 30-Nov-18 13:50:46

wish I could, I struggle to walk from the lounge to the kitchen. my walking days are over, I am becoming housebound. i have a buggy but now even struggle to get outside to get to the store where it is kept.. good luck to those who can, keep it up as long as you are able

NannyJan53 Fri 30-Nov-18 13:51:02

I have joined two Walking for Health groups, in my area. One Monday morning and one Friday morning, both about 90 minutes walking. If you google 'Walking for Health' and your town you should find where and what time they meet.

I also go to the gym three times a week
