Will you be buying any commemorative ware? grin

ginny Wed 02-Feb-22 08:28:45

No.

Oopsadaisy1 Wed 02-Feb-22 08:39:35

No.
Difficult to see how it got through so many checks in the manufacturing process without this being spotted, but I quite like the term Jubbly!

vegansrock Wed 02-Feb-22 08:45:29

Was it made in China?

Bellanonna Wed 02-Feb-22 09:02:55

Something Del Boy would say

FannyCornforth Wed 02-Feb-22 09:10:13

I would definitely buy that

Grandmajean Wed 02-Feb-22 09:14:29

It gave me a laugh yesterday when I saw it on the BBC News site.

Yammy Wed 02-Feb-22 09:19:49

Who knows it might end up more valuable than a good copy. Like the odd stamp or coin that is now worth more than the originals. I still would not buy it.

Elegran Wed 02-Feb-22 09:45:56

The picture of the Queen looks a bit odd too. Is the plate made abroad and imported?

Riverwalk Wed 02-Feb-22 09:49:00

The picture of the Queen is so funny - considering she's the most photographed woman in the world couldn't they have done a better job!

I'd buy one grin

FannyCornforth Wed 02-Feb-22 09:52:19

She looks like Mrs Warboyes! ?

Oldwoman70 Wed 02-Feb-22 09:55:01

I understand it was made in China - I agree, it will probably be more valuable in the future than anything without the spelling mistake!

Lincslass Wed 02-Feb-22 10:00:08

No its not made in China www.royalcollectionshop.co.uk/chinaware/collection/the-platinum-jubilee.html. Yes folks who do us down, much lovely pottery still made here, yes in Staffordshire. One of my ancestors involved in this skill.

Made in China.

Baggs Wed 02-Feb-22 10:05:08

I love it.

trisher Wed 02-Feb-22 10:05:27

In the late 50s early 60s you could buy an orange drink called Jubbly. It was best frozen. It came in triangular pyramid shaped cardboard. It was marketed as Lubbly Jubbly. Maybe HM has an interest???

trisher Wed 02-Feb-22 10:08:28

I found it! nostalgiacentral.com/pop-culture/food-drink/jubbly-2/

As a designer the thing that niggles for me is the fact that the unicorn is too small. The whole thing looks unbalanced, as if the unicorn is sliding off the edge. Of course the real ones may be the same!

EllanVannin Wed 02-Feb-22 10:47:43

Where's Esther Rantzen ? grin

maddyone Wed 02-Feb-22 10:49:43

Not even if it was spelt correctly.

It looks as if it’s made from a composite of different clip art designs

A simple, no.

Hey, there's a whole range of items!
Or the job lot of 10,800?

wildswan16 Wed 02-Feb-22 12:29:35

Maybe it will catch on and we will all be having lots of "Jubbly parties". Lubbly jubbly!

Boz Wed 02-Feb-22 12:36:22

If you want to buy commemorative china, buy British. Some of our own Potteries will be producing stuff which I think will be a better investment or legacy.
