Hello. I have recently had an e-book published (traditional publisher) and it is available on Amazon for kindles.
I wrote it to cheer myself up after a grim few years trying to look after parents and friends in their nineties and either ill or with dementia.
I am donating the first year of royalties to Age Uk so if you want something silly for Christmas please have a look!
My book of Fairy Tales for the mature (black humour) is up on Amazon published by Ecanus books. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Broomsticks-Walking-Sticks-Zimmer-ebook/dp/B00A93ZK9E/ref=sr_1_26?ie=UTF8&qid=1353248657&sr=8-26

Fairy Tales for the Mature. 'Why is it always the young and glamorous - the beautiful princesses and handsome princes - who dominate fairy tales? These fun, adult, fairy tales are written from the viewpoint of the older characters, for example Red Riding Hoods grandma, the matron of Rapunzel's boarding school and the witch in Hansel and Gretel.
Hope this link works. I'm a bit incompetent.

I've only got a kindle but epub can go onto a computer I think, Jess. Got to go and eat something but I'll check it out later.

Never been on a thread with Hagrid before smile

Oh and the blog link. That's great.

broomsticks Tue 04-Dec-12 19:29:51

I've managed to reactivate my smashwords account. Sounds interesting. I'm permanently getting ill at the moment, so it would be useful. I'm sure the prices can be in £s. I seem to remember that from before. It's in dollars at the moment.

Jess re my doctorate - no, I won't finish it; when I had cancer I stopped for a while (chemo brain!) then had another go, then thought to myself "How do I actually want to spend my weekends?" And, because I'd had the carpe diem moment, decided that I'd rather be with friends and family. Life could be too short. So, there we are. I have half a thesis on School Improvement. Yawn....I just write poetry now, when I need to. smile

JessM Wed 05-Dec-12 07:38:36

You have obviously made the right choice ariadne - Breast cancer does change your priorities doesn't it.

broomsticks Wed 05-Dec-12 09:08:19

Cancer does make you think what you are doing with your life doesn't it? I had the ovarian kind but luckily caught very early. On the other hand a thesis on school improvement could be really, really useful. I think school ideas seem to go round in circles, they never get a happy medium. Such silly ideas too -spending money to buy every school a bible. However religious kids are they are not going to sit down and read a bible at school.

PS Jess, got your book on my computer. Now I just have to transfer it to my kindle and we're rolling.

anno grin

j05 grin

I tell you - I needed that Gordons

broomsticks Wed 05-Dec-12 10:57:30

Is the need for a big gin my fault? Should I just go away for a bit? wine

annodomini Wed 05-Dec-12 11:01:25

Not your fault, broomsticks. JO5 and I are the culprits, though why would Cari need an excuse for a large G&T? hmm

jO5 Wed 05-Dec-12 11:16:06

Not your fault broomsticks.

Just blame it on kids!!! (they're all the same!) grin

jO5 Wed 05-Dec-12 11:17:13

You need to read Cari's blog. And her tweets about the little one. Very good. smile

CariGransnet (GNHQ) Wed 05-Dec-12 11:32:58

blush thank you

CariGransnet (GNHQ) Wed 05-Dec-12 11:34:10

PS - broomsticks* it's a nit thing <scratches a bit>

broomsticks Wed 05-Dec-12 11:35:02

I've just joined twitter, a (book type) friend invited me. Oh god! I can't find anything or anyone and haven't a clue what I'm doing. I'll 'follow' Cari if I can find her. And find out how ... confused

broomsticks Wed 05-Dec-12 11:54:43

It's an interesting blog. My grandson's just started big school too, very cute in the little uniform, complete with tie.
You lot (no offense intended - you guys?) gave me an idea. Maybe after the Christmas mayhem I could do a blog where my characters comment on events. Less boring than my comments on life would be.

broomsticks Sat 08-Dec-12 12:12:24

Oh, I seem to be selling books in America. Unexpected but all good. smile

annodomini Sat 08-Dec-12 12:28:50

Well done, broomsticks. You might be the next E L James if readers spread the news by word of mouth. smile

jO5 Sat 08-Dec-12 13:08:09

Fame!!!!! grin

JessM Sat 08-Dec-12 14:09:58

Oh well done broomsticks - I think a fictional blog sounds fun.
Twitter takes some getting used to. I am jess-madge if you want to follow me.

broomsticks Sat 08-Dec-12 16:02:03

Fictional blog is fine as far as writing it goes but I don't know how to put anything anywhere, pictures and stuff. It's scary. Sigh. Maybe after Christmas I'll try and work it all out. Jess madge I'll come and tweet at you tomorrow grin

broomsticks Mon 10-Dec-12 14:30:31

I tried a tweet. Did anything happen?

JessM Mon 10-Dec-12 18:29:46

We aren't going to know unless we follow you.
First follow me. Post my twitter name into the search box at the top.
Then I get a message to say I have a new follower. Then I will follow you. And then I will get your tweets every time.

broomsticks Tue 11-Dec-12 17:15:38

Ah, right confused
